I notice something else, every time i hit shift+F12, FPSC Makes a 3 Mb .BMP snapshot at my fpsc folder? BTW, its great! got 19-21 FPS. sometimes even 38 FPS with my 8600 GT...

Thanks for the comments everyone!.
Quote: "Water in setup.ini"

I haven't enabled water in 0.85 yet. I wanted to see what everyone thought of it first

Quote: "Change key conbo so all effects load up on default"

This is something i was going to do, but i didn't have time to do it in the end. If someone would like to alter this for me, I will be most grateful!

@Cheese cake: Make sure you have cubent.fx in the effect field for the window, and also make sure you have shaders enabled.

@Everyone who is having a bad fps: By default, i configured the settings file for high end 8 series cards. If your having a low fps, turn off some of the features such as ssao filtering and shadow filtering etc. Also set uselowqualityres = 1 under reflction. Also, if you would like more motion blur when simply looking around, change MotionBlurRotation=5 to something a bit higher.

Attached is a shot showing what the included shader looks like on the window.

Stay tuned

CoZ

It wont get lower than 34fps! Is there a way to make it start from the beginning instead?

@Rampage: So do I
@BIG Viking Games: Thanks! As for your other request, thats what im working on now, but someone else is welcome to sort it out for me..because I need to get going with DS at some point. The key combination codes are in the settings.ini (they are hex numbers). You will need to use a decimal to hex converter to convert the keyboard key codes (decimal) into hex codes. Or you could decompile the .dll and change it there, and maybe fix some other things (Maybe Ply could do this *cough*)

Hmmm.... I noticed that it's impossible to disable Bloom via that Settings.ini file, and all the rest of the FX stay in there too....

Is there a way I could just have Bloom and Shadows?

tested it. it LOOKS amazing. It plays...not so nice. i have a constant 33 fps in my games like normal, then i hit shift+f12, and then BOOM! 12 fps. Maybe you could release a more simplified version of this mod with just bloom+Motion Blur...or even just motion blur, thats what really impresses me about this mod xD

To all of you complaining about bad FPS, I can just say: READ ALL OF THE POSTS! CoZ clearly stated that the default settings in the setup.ini are configured to work on high-end GeForce 8-series-cards. If you have problems, I suggest you download the un-modded-mod on the orginal creators website, http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/index_en.html. That version includes an english guide to what all of the values mean, and then you can decide how YOU want them to be configured for your own use. (Sorry if you find me aggressive, I just got a bit wild.)

Best.

Errmm... yes, you modified the version information. And that's it.

http://dl.helixsoftware.eu/dl/coz_enb_compare.zip

This is a comparison between the "X-Tasy MOD" and it's "basis".
(includes all 4 DLLs, the "originals" and the DLLs from the X-Tasy "MOD")

As basis for this comparison I used:

- Original d3dx9_26.dll: http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/d3dx9_26.zip
- Original d3d9.dll: http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/enbseries_flatout2_v0074c.zip
- CoZ's X-Tasy MOD: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=5d40e92ed4b12340d2db6fb9a8902bda
- HexCmp Trial: http://www.fairdell.com/hexcmp/

And the result:

The d3dx9_26.dll in the ENB does NOT differ from the X-Tasy MOD DLL.
The d3d9.dll in the ENB does only differ in the version information - just a few bytes from the X-Tasy MOD DLL.

Btw. the DLLs from the "original" and the "Mod" have the same file sizes... that was the reason why I just did a binary comparison.

In my opinion, changing the version information of a DLL can not be called "work" or "ownership" of that specific DLL's.

Just my opinion.

EDIT:

And btw. a short sentence in the ENB License:

Quote: "Decompilation, reverse enginering, disassembling, debugging or changing resources of software is prohibited."

The version information of a DLL is called a 'resource'.

Hi everyone!
Thanks Nighthawk.
The author of this post trying to make fools from everyone. License rules, copyrights - nothing matters for this guy. ENBSeries WILL NOT WORK FASTER unless optimization code will be done by ME. The reason i didn't that already is simple, i'm out of enthusiasm, because very smart peoples replacing copyrights, sending spam and viruses to the ENBSeries users and game publishers/developers as from my e-mail, all the time i'm drifting between creativity and depression.
By the way, recently i worked a bit with creator of the game, FPSCreator engine based, to implement parallax occlusion mapping and some other effects.
Good luck!

@ Boris: So you registred friend? Yeah, I acctually think that CoZ's been acting a bit rude about your work, and has done an overstep into the gray zone of copyright. Why not make a version for FPSC users?

@ BVG, Deathead: Yeah, it acctually does. How would you like someone taking your work you had spent a lot of time on and claiming it as his/hers own?

@ Matuka: I just wrote that to get some power into my sentence.

WoW!, I dissapear for a few hours, and now I come back to this!
@Nighthawk: Okay!, Listen mate. I never claimed that X-Tasy was completely my own work, and I Did! state that it was based on the ENB Mod for flat out 2 by Boris Vorontsov. And since your questioning my editing, ill clear this up as well. I did have to edit the files (slightly) so it would work with the settings within FPSC. Without this, it didn't work correctly within FPSC (graphical errors and such!). But the fact is, I never at anypoint claimed this all as my own work. Everybody on this thread knows that it uses the ENB mod by the named author, and they had no problem with it, because im not making any money out of this..im just releasing a FPSC adapted version of the ENB MOD..that is all. In future, just stay out of my threads before you know all the facts. You act as if EFXMod is the hottest MOD of the face of this earth, and continue to bash other Members for trying with their efforts (e.e Ply's MOD).

@Boris Vorontsov: I would like to make clear that I am not claiming your MOD as my own, I am just releasing a FPSC adapted version of it for the community to use.

Now, lets leave it there shall we?

CoZ

I guess that you're the creator of ENB? If do, how can one set it to only use the Bloom and Shadows features?

@tjaabee: I never claimed this as completely my own work. I always stated that it was the ENB Mod for Flat out 2 adapted for FPSC.

I do admit that i forgot to add the authors name (you reminded me of that), but I did state that It was a FPSC adapted version on the ENB Mod for Flat out 2. And I also haven't breached copyright either, because I am not selling this MOD, or claiming His work as my own etc. I just simply and honestly forgot to mention the authors name in the discription. I have updated the first page in this topic with the relevent info. So the statement about me being a pirate and taking a step into the side of copyright is a load of rubbish. I have been around long enough not to nick people's work!.

Yo, everyone, I recommend we all chill. We all know CoZ. Why in the hell would he try to make fools of us all?

EDIT:

And just to clarify: CoZ definitely did not claim that this was his work. If anybody wants to argue that, please stop talking. He has said he was just adapting a mod since the beginning.

@Punk13: Try updating your .NET Framework files if you haven't already and do a repair install of FPSC. Oh, and make sure all your drivers are up to date

Right, to quote from the read me included in the ZIP:
Quote: "
X-Tasy is Based on the ENB Series MOD for Flat Out 2. It Was then modified, recoded and adapted to work within FPSC."

In no way has CoZ said that it is all his work. As you can clearly see he has told everyone several times that it is only adapted to work with FPSC.

Now guys. Searching through the forum I have seen features in this mod being requested even bofore the launch of FPSC. What's with all the moaning. I (and CoZ) would have though you would have been pleased. Ungrateful gits.

Now Lets leave it here before this gets locked.
On a lighter note, I have (as stated) got a rather nice bumpbone shader working. This shall be included with the next version along with .ini optimisations and a selection of window refraction shaders.

Stay tuned all

I'm getting a problem...

I downloaded the files and placed them in my main FPSC folder.

I design a simple level, load it, press the key comination and it clearly loads. (You can see the bloom, etc.) Also the effects work fine, BUT when I move my mouse, my screen turns into a white and black checkered screen...and when I stop moving, my gun drops from the top of the camera back down with motion blur applied. W,A,S,D, don't work either.

Looks great, but it seems kind of pointless since the kind of specs you need to run it lag-free are practically X10, for which you could buy FPSCX10 and get similar effects

Seems like you're trying too hard to push the engine to do things it's really not capable of doing at a reasonable level.
