Yes I wrote a 16 page walk-through of how to do just that, it will be released with the next TGC newsletter I think. It will work for RC or DBpro

@Sergey K
Yes I will make a video of the game in action, I just haven't had time to do to much extra stuff lately (real world work is beating me down) tis the season you know

Very Nice Vickie!!!!
I had ben looking at RC for a few mths now and after seeing your screens I knew I definatly wanted to get RC
It just shows the potential RC has.
I have no exp. in modeling but hope to get it figured out
I have messed around with a few game toolsets like in NWN and NWN2 but those are all preset models

I just downloaded TrueSpace and compared to a few others I have checked out I think I will also mostly use it. I just hope I can get the hang of it and make some models at least half as good as yours are.

Right now I am just searching and searching for some good tutorials for creating models and such. I think my biggest hurdle atm will be getting animated creatures. From what I can tell so far objects are not as hard as creating creatures and chars.

Looking forward to reading your tutorial when its ready.
Will you be posting a link to it?

Do you use any other programs from the TGC e-store? Due to your pics, I'm gonna get DarkGame Studio(has TreeMagik and PlantLife). Also, are you using RCTE to make your terrain or another program? Thanks for your time.

Hi Sam_K, hey make sure to download all the training videos that are on the Truespace site. The videos are all walkthroughs on how to use TS so it will help you get started!

Hi Unforgiven Hero, yes I use treemagic, plantlife, T.ED and 3DWS. All of which I purchased from the TGC site. I use RCTE and 3DWS to make terrains for my game because TS does not support splatting. The DarkGame Studio is a great deal, I was going to buy it till I realized I had already bought all the tools that are in the kit...LOL! I wish they had run this deal when I was buying my tools.

Wow!, the game is looking very impressive.

I must say are you making your own levels? The level contrast between stages is staggering, it's as if you have a wide range of modeling talents. I can also see your programming knowledge is showing finely from the screens( more detailed shoot of hud would be nice). This is a game I will watch for to actually get finished at some point.

Cheers,

I own Realm Crafter and am using trueSpace 7.6. When I export my textured models in X format, the .x file is in 1 folder and the textures are in a sub folder. When I import these into RC after moving them all into the same directory under the buildings folder in Realm Crafter, the textures are gone. Do you know how this is fixed? How do you export then import your models into RC? Thanks for your time. Very appreciated.

Hi Unforgiven Hero, Ok first make sure your textures are to the power of 2 (256x256, 512x512 and so on) next make sure you use only .jpg or .png format for your textures. And remember!!! you cannot add texture fron another directory and then move them to the folder where you saved the model too. You MUST add the textures to the model from the directory where you are going to save the model too and then move that folder into your RC meshes folder, otherwise you will never have any textures on your model.
Hope this helps, let me know how it goes for you~

Hey Vicki,

It's looking very very impressive. I love the level design you have going on. My only real crit would be that the blue lighting seems a little too blue to be natural. it's like RGB(0,0,255). I wonder if it needs toning down a little to give it some more realism.

Secondly I have a question. I always figured that a woman wouldn't want to create characters that are dressed the way the your current Screen shot character is. I mean, basically you're putting a scantly clad ass centre screen for the majorety of the gamin experience! Why do the men get to wear big deadly armour, and the women cover their boobs and bits in steel and hope they don't get hit anywhere else?!

I'm not directly ranting at you directly, I just always thought that aspect of fantasy gaming was skewed towards male sexual fantasy,so I'm interested in why you chose to follow it.
Best
And merry christmas!

92% of the gaming market is made up of male players. The roll of
becoming the character as they play has changed and been replaced
by a god roll where the actor in the game is more of a pet than an
alter ego. I study the numbers and playing habits then begin to
develop by what I know so that the game will be extremely popular.
Thats why you see the girls the way you do.

What about the market to ME? I want my character to have a Vespa, a base guitar, a large scarf, goggles, and long yellow gloves and boots.

I'd love to see a maps of the world your building, if you have them. I really like maps.

I made the textures the correct format but it is still not working in Realm Crafter.I believe it is because the model is in 1 folder and the texture is in a sub folder. Is there a way in trueSpace to change the export options to export the model AND textures to 1 folder? Thanks for your time and love the work. I just need to find a good modelling program for my game Shining Crusade.

Hey Vickie. It looks top notch. and massive! Very impressive.
I noticed a few aesthetical things though, and so rather than just gush about how great this whole thing is, I thought I'd do some constructive crit. yay.

In this screen shot:
http://www.eaglesoftworks.com/WG/sonya1.jpg

the decals seem to be retaining a border, it may be deliberate, but check your alpha map, it might be like RGB 1,1,1 around the edge instead of 000

Also, the blood decals seem a little off. there seems to be too much spread between the particles for the number of them... it either looks like you need more particles (to fill in the gaps), or it needs to spray the same number in a more concentrated area.

Good work though. very impressive.

@Vickie- Don't get me wrong, I love female heroines in most games just like most guys. Although, where in the heck are the males role leads, your game screens are all lacking male characters. It would be nice to get a scene of one of your male characters fighting a monster instead of female always.

LOL I was going to say the same thing in my comments but I restrained. I think me and vicki had it out over this in one of my old threads, and her argument is valid : how many commercial titles let you play as a woman? very few.

There are men in this game. You can see a dude next to the wyrm. Its nice to see a game that isn't dominated by:
a) Huge burly knights with phallic swords
b) gigantic breasted women in insufficient armour.

Go vicki ! (I'm sticking up for her because I got a heart)

Well at first all I had were guy actors but I pulled them all out. For some reason whenever they went online for any length of time they turned gay, so now I just use girl models

Some of your images don't show - and more don't show now than earlier today.

It seems to be your last two posts that are affected.

Edit Weird. They all show now. Perhaps I need to take my tablets?
