If you turn on edged faces, it might help you out! It's kinda of hard to work otherwise . Gmax is made by the same people as 3DSM, so if it's anything alike, right click on the word perspective in the viewport and select edged faces. Also, not sure if this will work, but in Max, alt+x is xray mode. I find that handy sometimes.

i always use the f3 and f4 keys, f3 toggling wireframe, and f4 toggling edged faces, comes in very handy

You're improving, since you're still working on it I won't comment too much but maybe split the top part of the gun into a different object and make it a bit wider/thinner (Whatever it is on a USP. I really don't know guns).

Hey lookin good so far. Just a couple of things.

1. You have an unnecessary vertical edge running through all of your model, which i think was caused from symmetry, just remember when you are no longer using symmetry to remove it and save a lot of polys

2. You seem to have a lot of edges that are not necessary, try and get rid of them by using backspace, and save a lot of polys too, it may sound picky but it will help in the fututre

All i can say now is that there are some shading errors, probably caused by crossing verts or edges, sometimes all i have to do is delete that face and reinsert it.

The working parts (at the top), where it meets with the rest of the gun, it is wonky and lop-sided, it is supposed to be straight (only a little niggle)

I believe he is refering to the slide of the pistol. The seam should be flat front to back, but you have a little dip in it above the grip, where in your reference image it is flat all the way down.

we cant see the model...

change to a tan background or a light grey or even better, you use Gmax or max right? press 8 and change the ambient light to a nice pale tan colour

heres a simple light set up for gmax along with a stand, its the one am currently using.

am not sure if the light layout will hold in .3ds format though,

speak up if it dosen't

USP is okay, but the TMP is, to be honest, way too high poly and not enough detail.

Your Gamma or Monitor may be out of whack because I think everyone but you is seeing those renders as extremely dark, I can just barely make out any detail in them.

Use a box Then connect the edges from the top (Straight through the middle twice) Then i would just move some vertexes around to get the overall round feel to it...

Azunaki: good to know i've ispired someone acually ive bin thinking about trying a car=P anyway: iam not one hundred about the program iam using yet so..

Edit: so what do u think of the AK so far?
