Thought i would show off my WIP. Texture still needs alot of work, but im pleased with the modeling, apart from the shield, which is going to be replaced. But for those of you wondering it is a lego character of Captain England, the alter ego of Captain America. Enjoy!

I was going to do evil Bolt, until I remembered that I don't know how to "comb" hair in Blender. Maybe next time.

In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Did a quick design sketch of my alter ego CA:

Not sure about colors yet, will get to that during modeling. I plan on basing the design more on the original CA rather then the newer versions.

Though quite a few heritics would insight riots over this elsewhere lol I love it, not nazis although it did take me awhile to decipher the phrases in COD,WAW Helps to know when you hear 'granader!!!' in german from the enemy team.

The problem with this is that it isn't an Alter Ego of anything "well known". We would be able to see if you made an evil version on Yoda or a good version of the Joker from Batman.

If you are struggling with the organic modeling, there are some inorganic characters you could choose. For example the Companion Cube, R2D2, Wall-E... etc etc!

Some good ideas coming in so far! And the early WIPs look great!

Still 27 days left so you all have plenty of time!

Haha, oh how I love Magikarps, I tend to always catch one every time I play a pokemon game, dragon dance gyarados's are very cool in the meta game. Yes I'm a big fan of the games, they're good fun.

And no I'm not making a Pokemon... Actually scratch that, I might make a pet for my guy, that thing I posted is actually my snake head(s) for the Medusa type character, I just made it more dragon like for the sake of it.

@Josh
I like you character and all, And normally I am very open minded.
But I'm not keen about the whole swastika thing. Personally I just find it irritating to even look at. I know that people will say that having the black rim between the white and red makes all the difference but to me it still a symbol of hate and if it did'nt have such historic meaning as it does I probably would'nt feel bothered by it. But I do.

I know the swastika is being used in a negative fashion here, but it has more of a history than the nazi's.
That being said, if you find an evil character offensive, then i'd say he's done his job properly.

I'm sorry if it offends you. Actually German Nazis did not create that symbol, I believe it's a Chinese symbol...it's just well known for it's 'evil' usage. I'm actually going to replace the head symbol with the letter: "D", but keep the chest symbol.

As for the design, 'Captain Germany' is as alter ego as you can get for Captain America. CA was developed during WWII in order to battle the Nazi's and to serve as propaganda for the Americans as a boost in their drive to fight for justice and American Freedom.

What if Walter Hardy really did give the formula information to the Nazi's and they created there own version of Captain America? Could make for a good graphic novel.

Yes the swastika is very old in history, even dates back to the BC era. It is how it is being used that makes it irritating.

Yeah you can say that. And i'm aware of the topic, which is why i'm not making a big fuss about it, other than just an opinion.
It is funny and kind of unique though seeing an evil flash gordon.
But I also do believe there are other ways to create evil characters without having to use symbols such as that just to get a message across. However it is only an opinion, so I will just leave it at that.

@Josh, I do see your concept and it makes sense. As I said it is just an opinion.

About.com says:

Quote: "Artifacts such as pottery and coins from ancient Troy show that the swastika was a commonly used symbol as far back as 1000 BCE...

The image of the swastika was used by many cultures around the world, including in China, Japan, India, and southern Europe. By the Middle Ages, the swastika was a well known...symbol...

The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix.

Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck...

During World War I, the swastika could even be found on the shoulder patches of the American 45th Division and on the Finnish air force until after World War II. "

But really, if you want to debate the origins of the Swastika, go make a post on Geek Culture

Agreed. It's not that I care about the history of it, it's just over done. Old news. Just my opinion.

After consideration I'm going to replace the chest symbol with the Nazi Black Hawk symbol. I don't think there will be any doubt who he is anyway.

...though I'm not changing what he is, a comic book Nazi super hero.

Hehe, an update. I'll also add quite a bit more to the entire snake/dragon medusa head idea obviously, don't worry.
And that eye is actually organically attached like that for a reason.
