Very true, but I think one thing the promotion of the show missed was its comedy. I thought the series was hilarious, but all the trailers and promotional stuff I saw was serious. Firefly was most anything but serious, its sarcasm and charm is what made the series. IF the show was set off more as Han Solo(laid back) than star trek, then maybe the show would have attracted more people.

my taste in music isn't weird, its just so amazing your ears haven't quite adapted to it yet.

Indeed, that is perhaps the greatest parody movie of all time! I love the flying RV...it's just awesome.

@Hobgoblin Lord, did you happen to see it at the Jordan's Furniture IMAX? That's where I saw 2.

@lazerus, yes, they are very good. One of the best things though is every time you watch it, you realize something more about it, and it actually becomes better than the last time you saw it. Weird as it starts off really good to begin with.

@Josh Mooney, yeah, I watch it about 2-3 times a year at this point, though when I first found it and then bought it, I watched it at least 1 time each week for half a year. I was obsessed, just a little less obsessed now.

But, I for one would love seeing this movie near every day. I've already watched it 50+ times in a year. Not gettin' bored of this movie, ever.

Yeah. I really, really hate how they took one great line in the BBC version ("If you're gonna survive out there, you've only got to know where your towel is.") and made it into an out of control towel fetish for Ford throughout the whole movie.

Err, well the Radio version was first, then the book series, then the BBC series, and then the current movie. All were written by Douglass Adams, only he kinda died after writing the first draft of the script for the recent one. He wasn't happy with it after the first draft, big surprise. But since he died, all they could do was make it into a final draft in a way he might have wanted. So really, while it's not entirely his work, the story wasn't changed too much from what he had.

Also, do any of you know that he deliberately made each version of the story different, as to make it worth seeing them all? None of them are quite the same, and that's on purpose. While I much prefer the books my self, and like the humor of the BBC series more than the new movie, it's really a very good movie overall. The depictions of the Vogons and more or less all of Magrathea were excellent, though I thought they were overused. I think it needed to be longer more than anything, as some parts were clearly rushed, and they skimped out on the Guide entries later on. Also I wish Marvin had gotten a bit more attention. But certainly it was not a bad movie.

Edit: So to be fair, if you're going to call the movie a remake, everything after the radio drama was a remake.

That's interesting. Most writers don't do that... they want to keep the movie and the book exactly the same (or as much as the Producer allows). If I was a writer I'd be afraid to change anything in a book that turns out to be a hit. To me Douglas Adams is right up there with Isaac Asimov and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

It had no flow, rhyme or reason to it. If you don't believe me, just try to follow the wikipedia plot summary:

I forgot to mention Cannibal: The Musical. It is by far one of the best musicals, created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

This is obviously the best movie, dead snow.
You can't go wrong with nazi zombies. Oh, and warning, gore etc.

In reality, it's OK. Reminded me a bit of shaun of the dead in terms of how stupid it was. It's a norwegian zombie movie so it needs mentioning.

And what do you mean by that? . You say that as if it's a bad thing, when they are very popular movies among people and they received decent critic scores. Yeah... I'm old enough to have enjoyed all those movies and while the new Transformers movies were great, neither of them contain that one sequence I was happy with... Prime's death scene.

I don't really brake down my favorite movies into best to worst. I brake them down into genre. No pictures, so I'll give some quotes for a few of them.

Err.. right. Whilst Pulp Fiction may well have been over-hyped due to its age/nostalgia, it is definitely an extremely well crafted film, irrespective of that.
