I bought me a new guitar effects processor today. Whooohoooooooo! It's the BOSS ME-70 with integrated pedal. Some of the effects are:
- COMPRESSOR/FX: (Defretter, Slow gear, T. Wah down, T. Wah up, comp, sustain/sens, attack/tone, level/peak...)
- DISTORTION/OVERDRIVE: (Dist, Blues, OD-1, Natural, Boost, Classic, Modern, Metal, Core, Fuzz...)
- MODULATION: (Uni-V, Rotary, Flanger, Phaser, Chorus, Tremolo, Vibrato, Harmonist, Octave, Delay...)
- DELAY: (Modulate, Analog, Reverse, Momentary...)
- PREAMP: (Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, Lead STK, Stack, Tweed, Combo, Clean, Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble...)
- REVERB: (Room/Hall, Level...)
- NOISE SUPPRESSOR
- and more...

Here's a screenie:

And this is how it sounds:

Any comments are welcome...

Dude, that is epic. No wonder they call it the BOSS. It also sounds much clearer than your previous ones. Nice!

Thanks, mate! Yeah, it does sound much clearer than my previous guitar effects processor. My previous processor was also a BOSS. But it had only 10 effects, while this new one has 70 FX and a much more powerfull sound, but still clear. And it has the Mesa/Boogie dual Rectifier, which sounds awesome! I did'nt have the chance yet to try everything out, but I'm very pleased with the overall performance.

KEEP ROOOOOOCCCKKINNNNNG!!

It's a black Ibanez (SA series). Why? Do you play guitar too?
Here's a youtube video (the video is not mine) showing it:

That's a very nice guitar, The Slayer. I'm sorry I haven't been around here lately, I've been working on the mod. That will be ready for an official update soon, so when it is out of beta, I will record something immediately. For now, I will introduce you to an awesome band.

Thanks, budokaiman. I like yours too.
It's a very good guitar for different genres (blues, country, metal, hardrock...)
BTW, what's the name of that band, bud? I clicked that link, but it gave me an error saying that the video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in my country on copyright grounds...

@the slayer, I don't really have much of a specific style right now, just preparing for a gcse performance but I'm interested in rock and blues guitar.

Personally for me, I enjoy Baroque period music. Mainly because I love Bach and Handel. Although Beethoven has definitely been growing on me lately thanks to my music theory class.

Either way, I also listen to, very little, modern music. Here are two projects I have for kicks and giggles:
http://www.soundclick.com/groundsofwar
http://www.myspace.com/benandiangetheavy

Both are metal. I don't really listen to metal much though, so meh, whatever.

Edit - I personally like song 2 on the first links page. I'm awesome with naming songs as you can tell. The second link the drummer named the songs. I'm very artsy, obviously.

Hi guyz,

I just wanted to let everyone know that our forum metalband IDS will not originate.
My bandmate budokaiman (guitar) can no longer be a part of the band due to lack of time. So, for now the band is on hold because we miss another guitarist. So, if anyone is interested, just say so...

Cheers

Yeah, it would be sad NOT to see our forum metalband come into existance. I'll continue on recording some riffs too. I can't wait to hear some of your stuff, Herakles. Is it a bit like my style? BTW, did you like those previous riffs I did, Herakles?

So, if anyone else wishes to join in (drums, bass, keyboard, singing...) just let it know, okay...?

Simply awesome, you could definitely hear the "newer" sound in it, and if you added drums to kick in or something at the second playing of the riff, it would sound epic.

@budokaiman:

Thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed it.

Quote: "you could definitely hear the "newer" sound in it"

Yeah, you're right. I'm pretty pleased with the sound of my new guitar FX processor. Sounds very professional and has lots of variations. It cost me 300 euros, but it was worth it.

Quote: " if you added drums to kick in or something at the second playing of the riff, it would sound epic."

Yeah, I think that I'll do that. Have some speedy drumbeat at the first riff, and some slower at the second riff, I guess. But now, I'm going to my bed and dream of...riffs...hahahaaahaaa!

Hmm, I like it.

I tend to write slower stuff. More chord based then anything. Mainly D major, I love the sound of that chord, also G and G7.

Nice Slayer, I like it.

I agree, drums would be an awesome addition. Or maybe this could be the bass riff, and the guitar can play this at like 2x the speed.

Now I'm just spewing out ideas, so ignore me if you must.

Thanks, BlueKlayman.
The riff is not exactly the style that SLASH would play, so I'm glad that you liked it anyway. I try to play different kinds of metal and not to pin myself down to only one or two styles.
How is your guitarplay? More like SLASH, I assume? Would love to hear some of it.

Quote: "Nice Slayer, I like it."

Thanks, mate. I knew you would love this kind of metal.

Quote: "the guitar can play this at like 2x the speed."

Well, the second riff could be played a lot faster, but playing the first riff two times faster would be impossible. It's already played at a fast downstroke rate. I could play it a bit faster, but not 2x faster.

Sorry I haven't been around on this forum much, I've got a busy real life. But I haven't forgotten about or given up on this band thing. I've got a short song written, and I'm currently trying to tear myself away from playing Mass Effect 2 (absolutely awesome game, by the way) to record it.

That day I had a lot of inspiration and recorded some pretty good riffs. Some of them where more death metal, and I recorded some pretty good blackmetalriffs too.

Beautiful Dangerous-
Fergie kinda amazed me. I didn't see that kind of voice in her.

Crucify the Dead
Ozzy, well, he was predictable, and incredible.

Hold on-
Kid Rock, he did so well one of my favourite songs right now.

am i the only one who listen to music, because it is music? not because what the lyrics is about, not because what the band is like, but just... because it sounds good?

i know a lot of people listen to Tool because of their texts and such, i just listen to them because it sounds plain good.

know a lot of people who listen to slipknot aswell because of what theyre like (my firend for example) but i jsut listen to it because it sounds good =P

Hum, I'm currently recording a pretty awesome song. Unfortunaly it's kinda heavy. Not just heavy like for example Slayer or Megadeth or Exodus or Demon Hunter or Metallica, but really really really really really really heavy stuff like...tarara...BEHEMOTH!
Don't know if there are a lot of you guyz (or girls) who like Behemoth, so I'm not sure if I should post a demo of my song or not?
Are you guyz up for it, or not?

I listen to music for a lot of different reasons, whether it's lyrics, or style, or thought provoking. I do like to listen to music (Mostly progressive) and think about where they got influences for certain parts, or what mood the band was trying to set.

I listen to metal music because I love the sound of heavy distorted guitar riffs, flashy guitar solos, and how it all blends together in a song. I don't really care what the singer is wailing about, in fact I usually just want him to shut up so I can hear the actual music.

Quote: "Are you guyz up for it, or not?"

Of course!

I'm trying to find the time to record that mini song I wrote, I really am. Music is just one of my numerous hobbies, so it's hard to find the time for them all.

Well, I listen to bands because of how the song was made. If a band is a sellout and only makes a song to fit in with the rest, I won't listen to them. If a song is made because a band just stumbled onto a good riff and one thing lead to another, then I will listen to it.

Mate, I love Behemoth, they even managed to enter one my essays this year. I play them on air fairly regularly too. Put it up.

Also...currently listening to lovely piece of classical music, for some reason I've been in one of those moods recently. Beethoven's 9th for the win.

I do. I like singers, but more as an instrument themselves. Domination by Symphony X (thanks Budokaiman) is a great example. Listen to the lyrics...They make no sense. But they sound good. Most music I listen to has lyrics that sound cool but don't make much sense. Which is why it throws me when people tell me about "the story" of this song.

I also listen to Tenacious D, which has stories, but I mostly listen for the music.
