To the FPSC Community at large:
It brings me no real pleasure to let you all know that I'll be leaving the Community
indefinitely (as the thread's title suggests).
The main reason is simple for me....it's time I stopped spinning my wheels and developed something
serious. I've found a partner with the same ambitions, and we're moving in that direction. Both myself and my partner have been disappointed by our partners before; but we feel comfortable with each other enough that we're going to make an honest go of it.
With the precious little time I have away from my job and family; it just isn't viable for me to continue spending considerable amounts of time on this community (and others)...not if I ever want to see the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel".
So, what does this all mean exactly? To put it simply; I will (after another week or two) no longer be frequenting these forums as an active member. I would appreciate it, if you all forwarded your help requests to any of the other FPSC Mods. I'll still answer emails to me; but the response will probably be slow.
As for the
BOTB, and
VBOTB; they are both still in effect, and both still viable. As I have not found another Mod with the spare time, I will be
continuing to administer these 2 items for the Community; until my replacement has been found. I will
NOT be perusing the WIP and Showcase Boards, so requests for entry should be emailed to me...please provide the proper package when emailing me your request for entry. As before; all BOTB entries are automatically entered for that specific year. I'll be checking out the WIP and Showcase Boards for the next week; while I finish up a few things, including the final(ish) incarnation of the
FPSC Community Rules and Information Thread. I'll also be doing one final cleaning of threads and posts around here...and
moderating as needed.
Does this mean I'm gone forever? No one really knows where the twists and turns of life will lead us (working in a prison was certainly never a dream of mine
). Over the years I've been happy to see many of you grow into outstanding developers
and Community Members; it's been my privilege to help foster that. I hope it continues; and I'm sure the other FPSC Mods will see to it, that it does!
I know that "Goodbye Threads" are frowned upon here; but I hope that you'll allow me this one last thing.
