Throw in Gangs of Attacking Zombie-fied of Graffiti Taggers, Add Grunge Music and you may have the next smash hit in ConstrAction Games like MineCraft. Looking Good.

Thanks to all.

I'm glad you like.

The main question - when the solution?
I can not say the exact date yet. There are a couple of small bugs need to be addressed. And not finished the manual. I would also like to add the import of the format. obj, do not know can or not (but I'll try).

Ok. baxslash, I'll post a link to the archive with the program on June 1 on your E-mail. Thank you.
About the video, the translation does not need - I need the English voice. Just when I speak English, it will be very funny and maybe stupid.

OK cool.

In that case I might be able to do the voiceover for you but I can't say 100% I won't sound stupid I'll leave that for you to decide...

I haven't done a full test yet but it works great!

It's a little slow running fullscreen on my PC but still useable. Is there a way to run it on a smaller screen?

I posted a link to your mail.

@baxslash
Now this is not done.
Can be done in windowed mode later, but I think that it will not give big gains.

I think it would be a shame to not allow setting the window size. I would be surprised if there was no noticable gain and most modelling / graphics programs allow at least some method of setting the window size.

My PC is not amazing spec (512Mb NVidia 9800 Graphics card and 4Gb Ram) but I would expect better performance if I was paying for it.

I won't go on about it but the speed made it unfriendly to use as I was probably getting around 20fps (a guess) which I couldn't understand when I hadn't done anything to the model yet.

Hi Baxslash.
I will make the selection mode size of the window, I had not thought about very large monitors with higher resolution.

What is the resolution of your screen?
I'm surprised at the 20 frames.
My screen is 1280x1024, 512mb NVidia 8600, 2Gb Ram and I have 70-80 shots at rest, while drawing with a brush, I have 25-30 shots.

By the way MudBox from Autodeck works for me is slower than DarkPaint.

Mine's 1680x1050. I'm only guessing it's around 20fps, it's very jumpy and slow to turn the camera.

I haven't tried MudBox, I assume it does a similar job?

Anyway like I said it's not unusable just a little slow.

I understand you.
Apparently will have to make a choice windowed mode and change the resolution.
Thanks for the info baxslash. I'll let you know when realizing the ability to change resolution and select windowed mode.

Edit:

I did a test. Window mode 1024x768.
FPS increased to 180 at idle and 65 when painting. You were right.
There was a problem changing the brush size and intensity - the cursor runs off the screen, I know why this happens and'll do to fix that bug.

Have you tried putting your images in the folder "LIB_textures"?
I just saved the Internet traffic, and in this folder are images of 512x512.
For full material requires 2 images 2048x2048 Diffuse and NormalMap format .DDS (A8R8G8B8) without compression. In Diffuse Alpha chenel to be transparent and in NormalMap in Alpha chenel be specular.

No, I have done very little so far. I have been trying to fix some problems on my PC. I will do some further and more detailed testing when I have the time.

I think it's a great tool and you've done a fantastic job. Even if it is used just to create an unwrapped UV map it'll be very handy but with the ability to paint straight onto a model you have made something really special.

I will definitely be using this in future projects...

I was thinking it would be great for adding dirt / grime to a scene before adding lightmapping, nevermind the possibility for customising character textures!

Turns out that was my computer. After turning it on this morning there is no problems. I was doing a lot of physics stuff in Blender so it was probably that that caused the problem.

Here is a little vid with DarkPaint in action on my PC.

Hello. Good video, only WinGui not captured during the opening of the texture.
I noticed that the brush size is not updated when you turn on a stamp. Thank you Stormwire. I will correct it.

Does your neat little tool allow normal maps and parallax maps?

Nice program, btw.

[If this is a double post, I apologize. The first one wouldn't appear.]

YES! Thank you. Downloading now, I'll post back later about any problems.

EDIT:
I only had a quick go at it.

- No real big slow down that i can see.
- Rotating the camera(right click and move) feels a bit stiff.
- Tried to use Paste Image but nothing pasted.
- Needs maybe a tooltip when hovering over buttons.
- Needs a way to rotate text.( if there already is a way, i didn't find it)
- Needs a way to undo.( if there already is a way, i didn't find it)
- Line Tool crashed Dark Paint a few times.(unknown reasons)
- UV and the UV > AUTO Buttons crashed Dark Paint a few times.(unknown reasons)

My Specs:
OS: Windows 7 32 bit
Processor: 3.2 GHz
GFX: 512 MB
RAM: 2 GB

Thanks for the test ShaunRW.
Rotate the camera to be redone.
Paste Image - you use the spacebar to select the top left and bottom right edges?
Rotation of text and click the stamp is made - "/" - 90 degrees
Horizontal reflection of the text and click the stamp - ">"
Vertical reflection of the text and stamp - "<"
The button "Backup" - designed to save the current progress, the stored images are in the folder "DarkPaint / PaintBackup /", you can use them to return to the previous stored state.
Line Tool - for the first time I hear that the application crashed using it.
UV-how many triangles in the model was you were working?
