Ok, maybe i didnt mean that, but still, they are getting annoyed a little easy...

Jeku, the threads will move back down the board as the new threads move back up. And like MrValentine said, a remedy for it is to view in 100 thread mode.

Just so you all know, im not trying to cause any hate among us forum members, and i still respect every one here and the mods. Im just saying my point of view.

Lol it very much surprises this thread here hasent gotten locked.

@MrValentine - Even if you didn't mean harm, it was annoying as hell. Several of the other mods wanted you outright banned, even. Just don't do it again, please. If you want to make a new thread, go ahead. Just don't go bumping 30 old threads at a time.

And I see that you've done it again in Geek Culture. What will make you stop?

An iron ban boot up his backside. It has been quite annoying seeing old threads clog up geek culture. From his replies to the issue, I feel like he just doesn't care and will continue this no matter what. Bring out the iron fist Jeku.

You know what Jeku?? If he had of started a new thread on that patent thing, you would have said "oh no, your clogging the forums up!" and locked that thread! He is merely doing the best he can. Please dont ban him. Hes a nice guy and really doesnt deserve it. And does it say anywhere at all in the AUP he cant do this?? No, it doesnt!! If it is such an issue, somehow or another get the threads to automatically lock after a shorter time period! Also, you (or at least someone) said as long as it was constructive go ahead and bump it. His post on the patent thread WAS constructive and you STILL get mad at him! Unbelievable! What more do you want???

Holy living crap you guys have no respect for this poor guy at all!!! You are bashing him like nobody's business! Also, doesnt it say in that good ol AUP not to put anyone down?? It does!

Thats exactly what you did to MrValentine. He deserves a SERIOUS apology from you guys.

I am loving the asumptions being made without thought... 3rd views anybody? I live life by that rule...

Thank you DBD, I need to pay you back somehow for that support, and I think you hit on some extremely valid points, and I just wonder where Rick and Lee are atm...

I really feel some people on here have some sort of crusade against me [not Jeku but some others] either that or theyre just having an off day, like I said, I take into account everything usually... but hey were all male in here and we have a lot of testosterone so early anger is expected, I sometimes post replies negatively and then realise ive been a total twit, its natural... and its ok so long as you allow such errors and the original twit realises and apologises in due time... we all have our strong opinions and also... erm I really dont see anything wrong with bumping some old threads, I mean its not like i intended to, but I didnt spend 24 hours reading through specific hand picked threads just because it wasnt of any use to me I actually read word for word down sometimes 100+ posts and quite frankly as its not in the AUP and quite frankly you have the ability to scroll down... and quite frankly... I have made it clear why what and when and how and who and explained in detail... seams if I told an F1 driver sorry mate I HAD to change the wheel when you came into the pits because the manager told me to... the driver looks like he will get angry regardless 'oi you took 15 seconds of my time'

seriously... give it a towel guys, and my deepest respects to DBD for being as supportive as he ever is, I salute you buddy and you too Jeku, I have seen the bright side of you today [I mean that I am not kidding]

Also guys seriously, I have got through the toughest 10 years of my life by keeping a smiling face, so please dont crucify me for being overly positive... and besides it that a crime? making others happy? if so, I shall try to avoid the Geek Culture thread and only use the forums when I really need it... I really feel alienated now.

and please try to get to know somebody before flaming them... and I am sure I havent done it myself if I had I apologise, but I have no intention to flame anybody on here... quite the contrary, most will have seen me supporting the impossible, mostly because I know [through having survived death] that the impossible IS possible. [provided it isnt some fantasy mission]

This is the same reason why we don't let users double post. The pair of you have failed to see the bigger picture here.
Okay, if one person bumps a few old threads in Geek Culture, its mildly irritating.
If one user is allowed to bump an old thread, then surely all users can do so. Then we get into a situation where everyone is bumping up old threads willy nilly.

How about a new rule, everyone can just do what the hell they want.
If its not in the AUP, just go for it. No limits on signature sizes, bump as many threads as you want, just bump threads without adding anything constructive (that's not in the AUP) why not create 3 threads on the same subject in a row? Thats not in the AUP either. Just go crazy guys, Dark Basic Dude said its okay! As long as you aren't breaking the AUP, then thats fine by us! /sarcasm

If either of you actually read the AUP fully, then you'll know that we are well within our right to enforce the rules of the AUP and generally accepted "netiquette" standards.

I'm sick of people with authority issues constantly fighting our actions. We don't do the things we do to be dicks, we are trying run a forum. If we've warned, slapped, banned someone or locked a thread, then we've probably done it for the good of the whole forum, not to annoy you.

@MrValentine - You are obviously a nice guy, but you got slapped for ignoring a warning. I know you may want to catch up on all the threads you missed, but surely you can see how irritating it could be for the people who have just made threads. Not only that, but if everybody started doing the same, then things would start to get out of control.

@Dark Basic Dude - Don't stir up crap. What went on was between Jeku and MrValentine, intervening will only make things worse and possibly end up in you getting moderated.

Thanks for being understanding as well BiggAdd

but I was never against the AUP ether... I just want to get past this... but might I add I left the newest posts to be commentd on too by myself I did bump some of them

I was aware of doing so. I hope this was a good lesson for everyone I dont mind being urm 'made an example of' in fact if it helps people to learn, I am fine by that lets get forumming! [ wasnt sure of putting 2 m's in there but oh well ]

Flame

This thread has been locked due to the unmanageable number of flame responses. Please refer to section 3.11 - 3.12 of the Acceptable Usage Policy for full details:

http://www.thegamecreators.com/?gf=aup#forum

AUP Section 3.17 ...Moderators shall, at their discretion, determine what constitutes a violation of these terms, along with generally accepted netiquette standards, and can take action against those who violate these rules.

If you contributed to the reason for locking, you may now find yourself on moderation, or in extreme cases a ban.

Sorry guys, I've been really busy with work these days so I didn't see this!

To be fair I didn't warn MrValentine then slap him. I initially warned him in a few of his bumped threads, and after seeing so many threads I merely slapped him to stop him in his tracks Sometimes it's quicker to do that than to email him to stop (especially as some users don't even put their emails in their profile). I just wanted to make him immediately know he was doing something irritating, and really it's pretty harmless! The slap is only for a week after all!

Anyways, get on with your regular forum geekiness, guys!
