The SH camera script work fine....

I used Zombie(pistol) (original scripts)

shoot: people\chase10.fpi


so zombie shoot to the camera ........(my character shoot to zombie o.k)

You have to chose the enemy scripts that came with it. Check the script pack and there should be a folder for enemies.

Downloaded this the other day...and just got a chnace to try it tonight. Such a cool script man..thank you so much.....its a shame how active this thread was before the release and now every1 seemed to have disappeared.

Anyway, awesome, and very generous of you...Im sure we'll be seeing more impressive stuff from you in the future. You mind if post some screens of it in action?

I'd love to see some screens. I'm a bit disappointed on how active the thread was, even before I released it, people hardly ever commented... Which is why I wanted to make it cost money but hey, whats done is done. I'm glad that you like the script though.

Nice pics! You're getting the hang of it. If you want it to end when the character dies, in the "Destroy" parameter of the character, use either "P2_destroy_fade(EG)" or "P2_destroy_leave(EG)". If you read in the ReadMe.txt file, you will see it say that EG = End Game and CG = Continue Game.

@2Beastmode4u, nabbed this a week or so ago while the DL was up, and just now got the chance to play around with it. I'll throw a donation your way at the end of this month or the next month when I get my GCS commision from TGC.

Anyway, I'm getting a few errors with the set up. I followed the set up instructions from the readme file, but I'm still having a few problems getting the scripts to work properly;







It’s setup with the trigger zone in the center with the SH_CooP_3rd Person\Change_Cams\Camera View.fpi on its main. You can see the camera is blurry, and the character automatically snaps his view to the camera position for some reason (which is a dynamic light named Light2). So if I move him forward, when I stop, he’ll turn and look at Light2). The character is using the SH_CooP_3rd Person\Character Scripts\Main\SH_3rd Person.fpi script in it’s main field and is named, ‘SH’.

I tried setting it up again, and now the camera isn’t blurry and doesn’t bounce around anymore, but the character still slides, and loops when I hold the Y key for him to walk forward (see attached video).

One thing that I could ask is, did you press 'Enter' when placing the character?

I remember once having that issue when testing on a different PC (Windows XP). What I did to solve it was remove the character and put him back without pressing 'Enter' to find the floor. This is not like this for every model however. Some entities just don't work well when they find the floor.

I tested the scripts on a zombie with 'Enter', it worked. I couldn't remember which entity didn't but now that I think about it, it could have been the thug... Here is a screen of my map.

@2Beastmode4u, thanks for the help. I raised him a bit above the floor, and now he's walking fine and doesn't seem to be getting stuck anymore. I also changed his appear script to appear1.fpi(he was using the TF341 Appear script, which was apparently part of the issue).

Another bug I seem to be having now, is that dynamic entities in the camera are blacked out/not reacting to the lightmapping when using the SH scripts (screenshots below). The dynamic entities are the character, of course, and the vines hanging from the wall, which should be blue (first screenshot is with shaders, second without; same issue):

That is completely a lighting issue in FPSC. I should know with my glowing pool balls issue. Try changing some lights to static adjust shaders and tell me what happens.

What mod did you use for making it ? I have tried to make one with PB but there were camera switching issues .

@2Beastmode4u, yep. It wasn't an issue at all with the SH scripts. Just a typical FPSC bug, and I've got it taken care of, thanks There are still a few minor bugs with the script I suppose it couldn't hurt for me to mention. One being when the player character walks under the camera entity, occasionally the camera will flip out and run outside of a wall or shoot to the opposite end of the room. This is in the above room in my screenshots, and I haven't yet tested it on any larger rooms so maybe the small room size is the cause of this problem?

Another thing I wanted to ask is if there was any way to disable the mouse from jarring the camera perspective from side to side when the player moves it? )My left mouse is the fire key, but when the mouse is jarred, so is the camera.)


And lastly, I was wondering if it was at all possible to make the camera 'static' as in the earlier Resident Evil games (as in, it won't follow the player character, it just stays completely still where it's positioned)? If you think you could add in this additional camera option, let me know; and I can whip up a few camera entities everyone can throw into their entity banks to use as the camera markers if you would like to include them

A dynamic camera that follows the player as the current one, but one that actually moves forward or away as the player progresses down a long corridor? Maybe even one that angles slightly to the side as it moves away from the player? Just a thought.

Yes, this is completely possible already with the scripts. Just don't change the camera after it's set.

Just wondering if I missed a post or not but can you set enemies to run melee attacks? Such as Bond1's zombie nurse? Most SilentHill type enemies have a melee attack, same with the player. I see them doing the actions when no weapon is selected, but no damage from either one is made. Any suggestions?
