I think he meant "immersed."

Personally I don't want the entire internet to love ponies, I'm still worried about Family Guy or someone mentioning them, then we get an influx of hipsters wanting to be bronies and killing the fun, like Chuck Norris jokes.

That's why I'm avoiding the temptation to start.

Don't watch them then. Personally I couldn't care less about what the general forum opinion is of the show, so long as I'm allowed my thread to discuss them in. I'm very happy to keep all related discussions to that thread, unless someone specifically mentions them elsewhere.

@KeithC

The main thing, (for me at least), is nostalgia. They have a multitude of voice actors, writers and producers from shows I loved as a kid. You probably don't get the same feeling, because you don't get the nostalgia.

I mean Tara Strong alone is pretty much responsible for my entire animated childhood.

Yup sorry, lost post = weird mistakes

or they love and tolerate. I can confirm that the ponies are stuck on your screen and can't come out (unfortunately)

But really doesn't take up too much of your time. Lots of people aren't as obsessed too.

It's good to sort of have a good "group" but not to be constantly pestered about it... It's unlikely the people left will love it as much, there were a good handful of people on our first page that "liked it" and that was that. No hating.

and Ponies always seem to be on topic somehow

Some of us have found it's the only safe topic to talk about.

Actually it's time I did something more constructive - like tidy up the house or garden.

Oh no! The urge to visit that thread has welled up again...

Well it's hardly like my life is ponies. My avatars and such on forums are pretty much all that art piece someone drew for me, but in all honesty, I don't spend my life on the PC and do other things with it.

It's just a good community imo, around a surprisingly good show.

Was it that big of a deal to stretch the page screaming? Did your sister seriously, within the past 10 minutes or so, start watching ALL the episodes because her brother saw one clip? Do you really need to 'dang' someone which to some religions can be a serious offense when you're obviously joking? Why don't you just love and tolerate us.

EDIT:

Actually, most of us hate the theme too I like the harmonies on the last note though. I'll bet cousins are the annoying part not the show...

Oh in honesty, I hate the theme tune. It's a throwback to the old MLP stuff, but Hasbro demanded it stay.

And I like the voice acting, unless you clicked on the wrong one. It's the Friendship is Magic series that we watch, the old ones aren't even in the same plan of reality.

In all honesty, I barely watch the show. I mean, couple of episodes a week. I mainly justdrop my jaw at the fandom's crazy work.

E.g., I have been listening to this constantly:

I have no idea what I clciked on... I accidently hit play on one of the youtube videos in that thread, and she runs over screaming "PONIES!!!!!!!" My day went steadily downhill since then... and this was at 10 in the morning.

26 episodes in total...

The pilot episodes don't sell the series well, and if you've watched the old ones, it's definitely not those. It depends on the art style of them.

This thread is going downhill.

Seriously, if your over 12, male, and watch cartoon ponies, it's best to keep that to yourself. Don't make me lock this thread due to mindless pony chatter.

I wouldn't call it mindless, they ask us questions and make comments and we reply.

But yeah, the point is this forum is not going downhill, it's probably the best forum I go to.

When I try to play the video:

Quote: "This video contains material from UMG. It is not available in your country."

I think that just made it go downhill.

I like the sentiment though ... on second thoughts perhaps I don't.

Edit Er? Should have made it clear which video. But "I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader".

Oh, *that* sort of pony video. I was (only very slightly mind) more worried for a second there.

Seriously though if I had the internet when I was in school I wouldn't have come out of my room. I mean at all rather than just the bare minimum I actually did...

"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development.

When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

C.S. Lewis.

Glad to hear it. I've heard tonnes of quotes bronies use in defence of loving the show, but that one sticks out because, let's be honest, C.S. Lewis was a great man.

Shame they're currently ripping his work apart on the big screen, especially after he requested his family never allow a film company near the Narnia series. Or so I heard at least.

Definatley a shetland pony. They're quite iconic animals over here. I used to find the sight of the ponies up on the moors quite majestic, until they took my brother's fingers Mind you, it was his fault for putting them in its mouth.
