The idea:
What we would like is for the X10 community to come together and create something so amazing, it will make those X9 users quake at its mere mention. That something will be a game. The game can be any genre at all and use stock media, custom media, or free media. There are no limits, be creative, let your ideas flow. When will you ever have a better chance to create a game that will be such a community effort. We need to push the limits of FPSC X10 and Mystic-Mod. We want to use as much scripting as possible, Mystic-Mod is so powerful now and we need to make the most of that. If you don’t think you can design levels, we don’t care this is a community effort everyone gets a chance to include something in the final game.

The best part... once the game is nearly finished we will release the latest version of Mystic-Mod that has the secret feature and we will announce those features so that they can be used in the game.

The Rules:
- All media must be either stock, custom made or licenced to be used by all involved by the project.
- Any media contributed to the project will be accessible only by those users that are signed up on source forge and part of the project. Therefore media must be licenced for this game not for an individual.
- All levels must be stored on SourceForge along with all media included in them if its not stock.
- All media must be held in the directory structure listed on SourceForge so everyone can just download files and place in the same place and have all media working in all levels.
- Any levels/final builds are the property of the community and will as a result be released
- All levels must be designed running on the latest version of Mystic-Mod, we will not be building anything in vanilla FPSC X10.
- All levels must be complete and match the chosen game genre and story line, to be discussed.
- Minimum of 3 levels must be included in the game.

How do I get involved?
It’s super easy... create a sourceforge account and post the username here and we will invite you to join. Alternatively send an email to one of us and we will give you access.

You must have the latest build of Mystic-Mod however, and have a SourceForge account!

Who do we need?
We need everyone. Not just the level designers, we need scripters, sound artists, model designers and story writers.

Yep, we had to break the ice a little deeper, and yes I have been helping part along the way .

I'm soon to become Parunagall, no longer SikaSina Games, as I shall be aiding in the feature for sounds and music.

Let's get this party started!

Also, as it was not mentioned, you'll need to install tortoise svn for downloading and updating all files.

Great, you don't have to add a lot, or work on it like it's your game. It's a community game, so everyone gets to do what they like and what they can to create an awesome game.

I've gotten the forums set up on the SourceForge page, please check it out, it will be easier to have questions and larger discussions there than here. Of course, you shouldn't post EVERYTHING there, just more specific stuff and lengthy discussions.

Looks like I got mind-hacked! I was seriously going to suggest this, but didn't know how it'd play over!

Well. Off to register for sourceforge.

All right. Username is leshorte.

I'm not a bad writer, so I could definitely help with the story once we all agree on the genre and such. I can also reskin, and I'm the lead scripter for Bugsy's When Worlds Collide.

So I'd be glad to contribute wherever

In terms of contribution, I would consider myself to be a generalist - jack of trades sorta speak. I would not consider myself to be an expert in any category, but I think I am pretty good at troubleshooting (even if just through sheer determination - I refuse to let the computer defeat me) and I also think I am a decent texture artist.

One thing I've not really let get out much here is that I have worked primarily as a sound designer for the last 10 years and have done contracting work for Electronic Arts, 360ED, Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, and UCF. Though, honestly, I think I've burnt out a little bit in that area after doing two game titles for 360ED, each of which had well over 10,000 voice-over lines. However...I could be talked into doing sound design work again - especially for this group of fine folks.

I am still relatively new to all this, but, have been reading ALL the forums gaining idea's and i feel as though i know all of you guys already! lol.

I am in, but, i really can't think what i could contribute! I have 3DS Max (don't know how to use it), i have Gimp, (beginner) i have X10 (AWESOME!) i also have FL Studio 9 (expert) i make music on a regular basis, but, you already have a sound engineer.

Anyway, hit me up with ideas if you think i could do anything.

Unfamillia.

That doesn't in any way mean you can't do music. We want everyone if your good at it, bad at it you can still give it a go it's a community effort.

@srealist

Sweet sounds like we got a good memeber of the team

Whilst scripting isn't my forte, nor is modelling, I can do level design

Count me in, I'll make a Source Forge account and be churning out high quality maps in no time.

This should prove interesting.

::EDIT::

My SF username: langley1996

Also, I'll make tons of segment textures too

This is very interesting. When we make maps, these maps will be added to the game? As in an all in one? or are we all making seperate games?

All in one game. The maps will be stored on sourceforge along with all media. Everything stored on sourceforge will only be available to people who are contributing to the game too, so you don't have to worry about random people taking and using your media.

I feel like we've all abandoned this forum for our new one to some extent..but let's not do that. Our individual successes are tied to the mutual successes of all x10 users. Hmmm...like.... programmatic karma or something.

There's been no activity for quite a few days here or on sourceforge. Just a little nudge, you guys should really start thinking about story and gameplay ideas more. Remember, when this is almost done we'll announce the secret feature.
