I would like to work on it, but it's depressing to see that the FPSC, not just x10, forums in general are hardly getting use anymore.

Also, budo, if you got spam emails from me over the past week or so, my account was hacked. I recovered it, though.

it is sad to see the forums x9 x 10 dying .
i am still ready to help on this project anyway i can.
i cant wait to see what the new secret feature is mabie this will
inspire us all. i think some people only joined to get the new stuff uploaded for the project, mabie you should make clear that the things uploded there are for the community project not for
any other use including there own projects but for a team project as intended.

I'd work on it if others would. But everyone seems to have silently left the x10 forums, more or less.

I'm just now starting and from what I can see, I like x10 better. My son and I are doing this for something fun to do together, but my business is looking into developing a game in the future. I want to learn what I'm doing first. lol

That is good news Squakler. I would hate to see X10 die if tgc had kept support it would of defeated X9 by miles.

I say we should really start to work on this. With x10 being discontinued, we must cherish the time that we have left before people move on for good.

I sort of dropped off the map for a while.... life interrupted me.

I would really love to still be a part of this project, but, it does seem as though everyone (including me) has wandered off the beaten path.

I downloaded a copy of Unity with the android add-on a while back, but, still want to come back to FPSC! I love the versatility of it! It's simple and fun.

We need to regain the love these forums! Yeah, we might not be supported any more, but, we still have the software, we still have the idea's and we still have the community!

I am STILL IN if this is going ahead.

I think we need a 'show of hands' to see who is still with us.

Consider my hand well and truly stretched up!

What's happening with this game?

Are people still interested?

There is a lot of media already been produced for this that is just sat there going to waste!

What would the general consensus be about the X10 users that are involved in this community effort using the media for personal projects? (If this game isn't going anywhere)

I am working on a new game ready for the August BOTB and most of this media would be amazing for it. I could make it myself, but, as people have already put the effort in and produced such high quality stuff, it would be a shame to not use it!

If this is me being cheeky, just say!

I'm not really sure who exactly would answer these questions, so I'll make up the answers myself.

Quote: "What's happening with this game? "

I just got a contract with EA, so they'll publish the game, but it has to be done in the next week.

Quote: "Are people still interested?"

Yes, they've all been secretly working on it. It's almost done.

Quote: "There is a lot of media already been produced for this that is just sat there going to waste!"

Nothing gets thrown out. I'll start selling all the custom media at high prices and take all of the credit.

Quote: "What would the general consensus be about the X10 users that are involved in this community effort using the media for personal projects? (If this game isn't going anywhere)"

If they buy the £300 commercial license for the media from me, it's fine.

This is not a question. Could you rephrase it as a question?

Thanks for clearing that up for us all.

Please can i use the media already produced by fellow X10 users in a game i am creating for the August BOTB?

Since Squalker created pretty much all the new media, it may be best to contact him about it directly.

The room segments/door segments I created can be used freely by anyone who wishes to use them for commercial/non Commercial use... Just mention me is the game credits if you decide to use them

As far as the community project is concerned... I will go back to work on it as soon as time in my schedule permits it..

EDIT: If want anything else made that follows the same style just drop me a line if time is permitting I will see what I can do..

Just a little something to inspire people once again..

I feel bad. We kinda left this alone for a (long) while and it died.
And I wanted to breathe some life into this forum.

Hi natedgreat07....

I find this to be of interest, wonder why such a big gap...has it died Completely..Are folks not interested in showing what us X10 Users can accomplish to show X9 users up...And to re-iterate the fact that X10 is the way to go...

Maybe if more people signed up it could be accomplished...

I find it rather disturbing as well that the community is lacking in here not many new posts with peoples experiences!!!!.

Could anyone explain to me how this was done? I'm trying to set up something similar and am having no luck. If you want to allow custom segments they must go in the Files section in Program Files, no? Yet when I try to implement the SVN there it doesn't allow me because it is a read only area. I suppose you could use the Files section in My Documents but then can you still upload segments and such?

Got the idea from here so I'm hoping someone here can let me know how it was done The sourceforge page isn't public so I'm just sorta guessing with it.

Thanks!

Sorry I never saw your post until now (you must be on post moderation). Everything in SVN has to be in one folder (you can have sub-folders in there, but it all works from one main directory). Instead of doing everything from within the FPSC X10 directory, it's better to have a separate folder that you can keep all of your media and maps in. I hope that helps.

I am still indeed! Good call

I gotcha, though how did you get FPSC to pick up on the segments and whatnot in a separate folder? I can't see an option within the editor. A symlink maybe or did you just have people copy them into their program files manually?

Thank you very much for the response

There are a few ways that you could.

You could create the repository in the media directory and only add the media you will be using (the rest can remain in the folder, it just won't be committed to the repo).

You could use sync software (I like synkron).

Quote: "Can I join? Username:atomic-cake"

I don't think that anyone is really looking at this anymore, and I doubt it will continue anywhere. You can feel free to check out the repository for the media if you wish though (the repo should be public now).
