@Mzz - just emailed you on this, its not a bug of 2D GUI HUD Creator, you need to update your flash player on your machine (not via Chrome or Firefox, but via Internet Explorer) as it will only update the flash plugin otherwise.

Here's the link to update it, and remember to update via Internet explorer, or via your control panel where you see the flash player icon http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

@Big Dog Game Studios - yes, still active on this project and I will be for some time - with lots planned. Apologies on the lack of communication and v1.06 update, due to the passing of a family member it has delayed things a bit, but it will be with you as soon as possible, no later than a week to two weeks.

Thanks for your patience.

@ IGDTools,

All good to see.

However, if I go (as I have) to my products page and go to download 2D GUI I get v1.04....? The only medieval / rpg theme thing is the chicken leg...

Can you confirm when v1.07 is up and live in the DBPro site for download?

@Duffer - hmmm thats strange, I've been sending the guys at TGC emails with the links to v1.06 and v1.07.. not sure if they have updated the links, or lost the emails in spam. I had problems with my email at this end after moving Internet providers last week, but seem to be getting and sending emails ok now. I'll try again tomorrow from another email address and if I don't get a reply I'll upload a version to my server and provide you with a direct download link, it'll only work for existing licence holders through the key provided.

Working on v1.08 now, so you'll have a nice batch of updates when you get the download tomorrow.

@ IGDTools (and TGC),

Absolutely, what BigDog says. What's going on. Looks like several new versions have been done and 'released' but I like he only have the 28 May 2012 release available in my products???

@Big Dog / @ Duffer

Apologies in the delay in getting your update - after we moved into our new office we had several technical issues to resolve which were unexpected and intermittent. These are now fixed - we'll be uploading v1.08 to our server later today so that TGC can pick it up.

We're also working on a solution where you can pick up your updates without having to wait to download, this will be in the next release.

Again, apologies for the wait.

Hi All, just to let you know that v1.08 has been sent over to TGC - and licence holders will hopefully have this download in your account asap. This version contains a BETA toolset for drawing, paving the way for more drawing tools. We're now working on v1.09, no release date yet, more info as soon as we have something to show.

I'll post a video of the new v1.08 update in action later.

New v1.09 update should be added to your account within the next day or so for all licence holders. Included in this update are bug fixes, some cosmetic changes (such as: color selector now has grey scale options).

Video of what has been added recently below:

Worth watching in full screen HD, by clicking on the YouTube logo and watching it directly.

2D GUI HUD Creator is currently on offer with a $5 discount until further notice - so take advantage of it We're also working on plans to support Mac and iPad, with more tools and a bulk artwork update.. TGC licence holders will get a free update to 2D GUI HUD Creator v2 in the New Year. Until then we'll be working on incremental artwork updates for v1 and adding BETA tools that may end up in v2.

Hi!
Would it be possible to interact programmatically (and API) with the HUD to change e.g. ALPHA ?

Good work

Hi DarthBasicVader - thanks! You can change alpha on the artwork within Effects toolbar. There is no API required, you then export the artwork via PNG to give you a transparent background. Assets can then be used within your game engine. I'll be creating a few tutorials soon on how to make things like the compasses work in AppGameKit and Dark Basic with some scripted examples.

When you've created your design in 2D GUI HUD Creator, you then separate everything so that when it is exported you can use them as a sprite sheet or cut them out in a paint program or if your game engine supports this, then you use them in your game. For example to make a compass pointer rotate when the player moves you give it a pivot point and rotate it around based on left/right key movement.

In a later release we'll be adding a cut out tool to make it easier, or an export all assets from workspace into a directory to save time.

Lots of cool stuff being added.

@Duffer

Good thanks. There will be one big update at the end of this month. That will be it until after our Crowd funding campaign launching this week hopefully. If successful we'll be creating v2 of 2D GUI HUD Creator to support PC, MAC and iPAD, plus animation tools, lots more creator tools, large amount of artwork and further products in the range, such as; Character Creator, Spaceship Creator, Platform Creator and more depending on budget and resources. Everyone at TGC who has purchased v1.x will get a free upgrade to v2 of 2D GUI HUD Creator, but would appreciate any backing for the other tools in the range so that we can continue to support all of the products.

Thanks!

@Duffer - we're holding fire on the Crowd funding for the moment.. we have a possible investor looking to take the product further, so we're seeing how further talks go before we go down the crowd funding route, plus launching a crowd funding in December, might not be a good idea with the run up to Christmas - not sure?

In the meantime we're looking at sending over the next release with a large batch of artwork to TGC this weekend - it's taking us a bit longer to put the new artwork into 2DGHC, its a long process to take the raw images, resize them down to a good quality, create the thumbnails and export them into 2DGHC format. We really need to create a batch process program to do all of this automatically. It will save us quite a bit of time.
