I guess that depends on how many times you "click" the button.

I am trying to upload my new game using your tool and everything seems to be ok. However, the downloaded APK have no size (0bytes). There is no error message, and not warning. My application is entitled "Alien Plague". Do you any idea of why this may happens? Any suggestion?

Thanks for all the help and for this tool... Eclipse was getting me mad!

How can we address the AppGameKit team to solve the 0kb APK problema? I thought it was a very nice idea...

Thanks a lot!

..that's why I'd very much like an offline APK generation option with the (still outstanding) final release version of AppGameKit V1 before they concentrate completely onto AppGameKit V2.

There is... via Eclipse... I know alot of people are put off using Eclipse, but trust me, if you can invest 2-3hrs for the first set up (just follow the exiting guide to the T), then it takes literarely 1-2 mins for all subsequent builds. You also get full control over your manifest file which I don't belive you can currently do with the 1 click option?

There's a tutorial in the android section but reading through the topic, it seems like it's not up to date.

I've also found a guide in the help files. Does it still work with beta 19?

Anyway, it would be nice if TGC could fix the web service.

So is there going to be any official word on why the 'one click deploy' has stopped working? This is SO frustrating!

0kb APK generated. I was really hoping to be able to install my cool little physics demo to show off to friends this evening. Alas one-click deploy is broken! And this was reported on the 6th of December! What is going on?

I'm SO disappointed right now. Thanks TGC.

I've identified the problem, I'm working with our server provider to get it fixed. For some reason the 32 bit libs required to compile the APK are not being found.

something else to look at paul and I know its been mentioned before....

it would be nice if the android agk player could resume a previous uploaded game at launch instead of sending the files every time if nothing has changed.

I thought it was an awesome idea... and it would be helpful if you needed to close the app, restart it again and just load your previous bytecode file. <as an option>

Hay Tgc, is their any reason the billing permission isn't included in one-click deploy? (many thanks for fixing btw) because my next app update is going to add iap's and I've been slowly stumbling my way through eclipse (I'm almost their. Then I saw you fixed this but soon realized the billing permission isn't included. Is there any way you could add a check box on the webpage for this permission to be included in your generated apk or just include it by default? Thanks!

Paul.. any word on this, I know your busy, I just wanted to ask about the possibility of this "checkbox" (see previous post). For some reason every time I create an apk through eclipse and try out my in app billing (even after creating iap's through google's dev center) it crashes. And since eclipse is java with cygwin and all that-- I'm only used to c++ debugging. So long story short I haven't found out why it's crashing Thanks as always

To use in app billing you would also need to have your public key in the AGKHelper.java source code, so the online version does not support this

I'm getting a 'Package name contains invalid characters, must be A-Z . and underscore only' error when trying to create an updated APK file.

The package name I'm using is: com.teamdefiant.td_02_arrgh and has worked in the past.
The app name I'm using is Arrgh.

Has something changed to prevent this working, or am I being an idiot somehow?

But you can use them in google play, as my current game has them in. My update needs to have the same package name or I cannot use this new file as an update. Wonder if I can edit the package name after 1 click APKing??

Hi,

Some issues the online .apk generator as it seems that some examples provided with AppGameKit can work both on tablet and phone when the IDE compilation/broadcast system is used but not when the same application is compiled in .apk file (including signature as I've got a key.keystore file) with the online tool.

For instance, the 3D example provided with the last AppGameKit 1.08 works perfectly in IDE compilation/broadcast mode on my devices but not under the form of .apk file. In this form, the first text (i.e. "Loading Metro Theatre Scene") is displayed then the application becomes black and the devices get back to their "home" screens.

I tested both 1.08 and 2.0 compilation modes, but it does not solve anything, the issue is always the same.

One other interresting point is that the virtual joystick seems to be well supported with the online V2.0 compilation option but not with the V1.08 one.
I tested a modified version of the input/joystick example with inclusion of a virtual joystick to be able to manipulate the box as well on my pc (with the keyboard) than on my devices (with the virtual joystick).
In compilation/broadcast mode, no issue, all is working fine.
In V1.08 online compilation mode, the virtual joystick is not displayed on the devices, so no possible manipulation of the box.
In V2.0 online compilation mode, the virtual joystick is perfectly displayed and operational (same behavior than in compilation/broadcast mode).

Regarding the devices I use, they are the following:
- PC: Packard Bell EasyNote DT 85 LapTop, Core Duo Centrino 2, W7 32 bits, 4GO RAM, NVidia graphic card
- Phone: Wiko Cink+, Android 4.1.1, Kernel 3.4.0
- Tablet: Asus Transformer TF101, Android 4.0.3

Best regards

If anyone's having issues with the online one-click-deploy apk generator, I suggest you try out this offline one. It's made be easter bunny and seems very good, though I haven't tried it myself. In fact, I would suggest it's worth trying even if you can use the online one - may be better

Many thanks Clonkex,

It works very well with the offline tool you linked in your message.
Only some issues regarding the release signature process as I had to remove the "%JAVA_HOME%" statement in the "sign.cmd" file available in the APKs repository.

So when the tool is correctly installed and parameterised
2 files are generated one xxx.apk and one xxx.Aligned.apk.
The tool message indicates that the Aligned file should be used to be uploaded but this files seesm to be not signed and so not installable. The installable file is the xxx.apk one.

Hoping, this tool will be updated to include the features of the AppGameKit V2 as I guess it wotks only with AppGameKit V1.08.

Best regards

Michel

Hi Mika,

Not sure what the problem might be with the signing, I never really spent much time on that feature.
I'm assuming that you're compiling it in Release mode. For testing purposes (or installing on a local device), it's best to use Debug mode.
When you want to upload it to Google Play, you will of course need Release mode.

To fix the problem, try this:
Are you certain the JAVA_HOME environment variable exists?
Try doing this:
1. Press Win+R (open Run dialog)
2. type 'cmd' (without quotes) and hit enter
3. type 'JAVA_HOME/bin/jarsigner" (without the quotes)
4. What is the output?
If it runs the jarsigner program, then JAVA_HOME and JDK are installed properly. If it can't find the directory/program, the You'll either need to install JDK, or set the JAVA_HOME variable
If JDK is installed properly, try this:
1. Drop one of your APKs on verify.cmd
2. RightClick->select all
3. Right Click again (this copies the output to the clipboard)
4. Paste the output back here so I can look at it

Hi Easter Bunny,

Many thanks for your tool and response.

I found a way to build and sign a release version of the APK file.
I just had to modify the sign.cmd file and remove %JAVA_HOME%\bin from the command

Before the file contained the following and was not executed:
- "%JAVA_HOME%/bin/jarsigner -verbose -sigalg SHA1withRSA -digestalg SHA1 -keystore %1 %2 %3"

After modification, the file contains the following and is correctly executed:
- "jarsigner -verbose -sigalg SHA1withRSA -digestalg SHA1 -keystore %1 %2 %3"

I guess the installation is correct as, at the end, all the building and signing process is working.

However, please find below the copy/paste of the error I obtain when I run "%JAVA_HOME%/bin/jarsigner" (sorry it is in french:
- "'C:\Program' n'est pas reconnu en tant que commande interne
ou externe, un programme exécutable ou un fichier de commandes."
The matters seems to come frome the fact there is space in the "c:\Program File\xxx" and so the command is not recognised.
But without the %JAVA_HOME%\bin all is working fine.

Regarding verification process, I had to do the same and remove "%JAVA_HOME\bin" from the verify.cmd command file.
So there is the verification result:

Cool, glad it's working for you.
If anybody else has trouble, you can still sign the APK manually. Just make a release build and sign the xxx.APK (not xxx.Aligned.APK)

Hi ,

I am still having trouble using the web one click deploy , is there a chance of someone doing a youtube video on how to use this
as all I seem to get is Invalid media zip file, you must right click on the media folder and zip it up, not just its contents

hear is the zip file I am using to upload as the media folder 3rd box down on web page
its only a simple test program

thanks
mick

hi micky4fun,

I had a quick look at your attached file and the first thing I noticed was that the name of your file wasn't called "media.zip" as you archived using RAR as well as calling it "aaa"; I believe that the only format currently supported is ZIP. The second thing I noticed was that you seem to have another file that is called "media.rar" (again not a ZIP file) as one of the items of the parent archive; again this will probably be a problem.

The ZIP archive that is required is of your media folder complete with your media (sounds, pictures, and bytecode file).

The easiest way I've created this was to have this media folder highlighted in Windows Explorer, and then use Right-Click -> Sent to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.

Having said all the above, it may be better to consider using easter bunny's wonderful offline APK builder as mentioned in the above posts.

cheers.

Hi all

Thanks for quick reply mr_d , ok I will try and use winzip and see how it goes , had a quick go of bunny's offline version , but got a error at the end FAILED no more imformation available , I have java installed , so something I am doing wrong , but I wont worry to much yet , jumping the gun a bit , I aint even written a game yet so worry about that then , can still use AppGameKit player for time being , can see it being quite a buzz though getting a stand alone APK file

thanks again

It doesn't matter what the zip file is called, as long as it is a zip file, and it contains the media folder.

Simply right click on your media folder, select send to > compressed (zipped) folder.

Job done.

"Failed to open keystore, is the password correct?
jarsigner error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: MALFORMED"

I get this error whether I submit the keystore file & password or not.

Mind doing the steps I asked jlahtinen to do in the most recent post?

Quote: "Run APKbuilder.exe
Put in the details
Hit build
DON'T hit ok at the next dialog
Go to \DATA\tmp
run cmd.cmd
type "compile debug" (WITH the quotes)
Right Click -> Select all
Right click again (will copy output to clipboard)
Come back here and paste the output"

This message started coming up last night:

Failed to open keystore, is the password correct?
jarsigner error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: MALFORMED

I'm not using the keystore section. Anyone else or just me?

I had a go at Easter Bunny's tool, but I guess XP/VS 10.0/C++2010 isn't sufficient.

I bring cats for all.
