You don't polish Kevlar!Cept the thing is, it's METAL PLATED KEVLAR. Now Kevlar's properties are that it's light, fire retardent, fairly flexible, and bullet proof. It's other main property is that it does'nt expand and contract with heat a lot. This means that putting metal plates on it is just...well, it's just Megaman.

And save the polish for your Mechwarrior. You never know, it could be plated in Kevlar (lol)

I think we can safetly replace the words Stupid, Idiot, Insane, Addled, Moron, Tube, Spoon, Nutjob, Tool, Wanker, etc. etc. with the summary: "Megaman Zero"!.

That Thread kept me amused for the whole computing period today. Me Shoug & Steve loved it.

Oh, and Shougity Doug has signed up for the Forums now. He's going under Doug C and keeps asking questions about hacking the RM C3 Network, but he has very good reasons.

Anyways, off to a different tangent: I think we could all rant on various QBasic stuff made in the 90s alone.
Examples include:
1. Some sort of game where Santa delivers gifts to large white boxes that are passed off as houses.
2. A game where fighters that are made out of circles and lines punch each other in turns until one of them dies.
3. many many more...

Bullet proof vests are made from Kevlar, and metal plates. Kevlar is great at stopping bullets, but the impact of a bullet on a Kevlar vest without the metal plates could kill you - the metal plates are there to absorb the impact of the bullet.

I know that does'nt mean metal plated Kevlar, but they do use metal plates that slide into pockets on the vest.

I checked out what u were saying VanB, What you're refering to is Handgun Protection. It's where they put an extra sheet in underneath near your vitals (Heart for example) so that a bullet from something like a .44 Magnum won't get through to your skin. You know i found a Ballistic Test for a Jacket Hollow bullet from a .44 Magnum, it only penetrated 36mm into the Kevlar, so add your factor of safety to that and you have 44mm of deformation. Kevlar's made in full body moulds, (actually, i don't know if it is moulded, it's chemically considered a plastic, but i'm not sure how it's made...) so the impact is spread out over the whole of your torso if you take a bullet to your middle. Check it out at www.Kevlar.com if you want to see for yourself. I'm looking at the military Intercept vest for this info.
