Ok, shoot me for stating the obvious, but doesn't this mean he won't be posting until he gets back?

Hence, why are people already asking what he won, if anything?

@avan
The show was taped several posts ago when he said he was leaving in about 30 minutes and it is a couple days (IN CANADA) after that fact hence the reason we are asking him whether or not he has won!

Ang on. Offsubjecttastic.... Now, any news on if I'm getting any money? I am like furniture here after all (funny smell)...

The way I see it, either he has done really well and is never coming here again cos we are peasants, or he is contemplating a swan dive off the roof after cocking up and losing thousands.

Either way, do I get some money? Anyone will do....

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

If it's not being aired till the 30th, is he allowed to tell us the result? Kinda spoils the show somewhat...

If it's not aired to the 30th then now, the result is confidential.

A while ago when the woman won the million it leaked out though. Record viewing figures!

I should think anything up to 64,000 and it should be ok to tell us. Quite a lot of people get that much, so it shouldn't really cause a stir in the news .

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

It'd be a little hard not to leak that out... I mean, with all the new, expensive cars and things she'd be buying...

Until that million quickly dwindles away and they're left with their average paying job and an incredibly high bill.

youd be a fool to waste it all away

Play your cards right and the money could last you 20 years

Even if you don't invest it in anything (which you'd be a fool not to)

If I had a million.. A hefty chunk of that would be used for investing in starting a company or two

I'm back

I was the first one to win 'fastest finger first' by putting the parts of a wine bottle in order from top to bottom (Lip, Neck, Shoulder, Base) in 3.04 seconds!!!

First thing I should point out is that sadly Chris Tarrants dad died last week so thay cancelled some of the shows. That means that the broadcast date has changed for my show.

It will now be broadcast on the 16th April

I mentioned DarkBASIC but the bastards cut it out! I went a little something like this:

Chris: So, Craig you only have 12 months left in the RAF, what are you going to do when you leave?

Me: I am hoping to take a course in C#.NET because programming is my passion but I need about £5000 to pay for it ... maybe you can help?

Chris: You say programming is your passion but you need a course to learn to do it ... so, how do you know you will like it?

Me: I have written a few games using DarkBASIC Professional it's a great tool for anyone that wants to learn programming because it is so easy to get into but unfortunately it's not an industry standard. That's why I need the C#.NET course.

Floor Manager: OK, we need to stop there. Craig, we prefer you not to mention any product names. We can let it go sometimes but that sounded like an advert. Can we go from the intro again please Chris? I like the fact that you need money for the course, that's good, emphasise that this time.

I tried

I suppose you want to know how I got on?

The rule is that I can only tell my closest friends and family how much I won. The thing is, I like to think that we are all close friends here. Not only that but this community is like one big happy family. So, I suppose i can tell you

I won £8000

It was tough, I got some real stinky questions. The guy after me got £125,000 but he said to me if he'd had my questions then he would have only taken £8000 aswell!

I got to £2000 without using any lifelines and I honestly can't remember the question up to then but I remember the ones that I need lifelines for.

For £4000
Which actress has Jude Law just announced his engagement to?

I can't remember the four answers and I can't even remember the correct answer. I asked the audience and got a 78% favourite ... I went with it and got it right.

For £8000
Which Latin phrase translates to English as 'come with me'

Again I can't remember the four answers or the correct one. I phoned my brother-in-law he said it was definately not the first two but couldn't say which of the last two it was. So, I used 50/50 and was left with the first answer and the last. I went with the last answer and got it right.

For £16000
Which country does famous shoe designer Manola Blahnik come from?

The four options were:

Tunisia Greece

Lebanon Spain

I had no idea. I had already used my lifelines so I took the money.
The actual answer for those that are interested is

I went with nothing. I had two days in London free of charge and came home with £8000. I'm happy

The cheque is post dated to the 16th April though, so, I can't spend it until the day it airs

If you watch the show and want to look really clever in front of your wife/girlfriend or whoever, then when the guy after me is going for £250,000 and he gets the question:

Nam Co in Tibet is what kind of geographical Feature?

Lake Mountain

Gorge Peninnsula

Then tell her/him that the answer is
and feel proud of yourself for getting to £250,000

With $1million, you could probably live off the interest. If $150k could make me $2k a year, 1 million should get around $14k or more at least. (and for you rich ppl, you CAN live on $14k a year)

well congrats with what you won, its better than nothing which is what the rest of us have.

Thats a lot better than this girl I know. She was also on the show a few months ago and the $2000 question was:

The area of what shape is half times the base times the height?

Obviously the answer is triangle, she picked square.

Yeah, I think the 'Professional' part would of set off a few alarm bells, anyway, after trying that, they probably deliberately gave you hard questions...

Well done mate!

How nerve racking was it? How much of your winnings did you pre-invest in Antiperspirant?

How long are you in the seat? I always assume it takes much longer to film than what you actually see.

Thanks

I was actually a lot calmer than I thought I would be. The week leading up to filming I was a nervous wreck but on the day it was all very different.

As for antipersperent - let's just say that it's a good time to buy shares in Lynx

I was in the seat for about an hour but that will be edited right down for broadcast. There were threee re-takes we had to do. The first was the reference to DBP as mentioned above then at £1000 I smashed my glass of water so that got edited out.
And then a commercial break was edited in at the end of the show. Which meant although I knew I had won £8000 and I knew the answer to the question before the break I had to pretend that I didn't and it was all new ... my acting skills are not good, look for the fake you bastard look when he says we are taking a break

Congrats Scraggle April 16th, w00t I'll be watching. Too bad about the dbp line tho--sounds like you couldn't even work in dark, basic clothes `Course it would sound a little suspicious after the dbp mention.. ah well.

Quote: "then at £1000 I smashed my glass of water so that got edited out"

LOL

Again, congrats on winning the 8000 Much better than I could do (I would get the 25000 question but not know the 1000 one ) It's actually quite an accomplishment to get past the fast fingers bit! Those are pretty tough.
