I like the look of this. FFVII is one of my alltime favourite games. Are you reproducing a cutscene or is it going to be a brand new clip of your own idea?

Initially I thought of my own scene, may as well do a cutscene, maybe when seph kill Aeris, or him walking away in the fire after attacking Nibelheim.

My thought on my own scene is that I put the FF8 intro in FF7 style, so Rinoa is Aeris, Cloud is Squall, Seph is Seifer, Who can be the sorceress......maybe Hojo...

Seph and Cloud will be fighting in fire.

meh, its not that hard, for the faces all I used was the poly modeling technique with hyper nurbs (Sub d) attached to the mesh. If you're going ???? Thats just the thingy where you place the dots make faces by drawing line from each dot with a tag that makes it ultra smooth all the time

Will update this after dinner I've got the head finished and the start to the torso, I've stopped at the cleavage, for those pervert people, soz, I'm stopping there, the rest of the effect can be done with her clothes

at megaton, scary, which one lol thanks

@Evil stick, I could be bothered with a realistic mouth considering the challenge theme is Anime, so no point making it realistic, so bound to be weird

end of day 2 of this and I alread got Sephiroth done and Aeris started, wow lol.
Well here is an update on Aeris

Would do more, but I can't stand much more of this bloody heat wave! Better be cold tomorrow so I work won't be hell tomorrow, having a cold, on a hot day in a Kitchen for five hours will be murder for me lol....anyway enough of my ramblings

@megaton, just realise you posted about the sword length, thats the length of the sword in the concept art, and seph has a long sword anyway

Oh...didn't realize that.

Still think he has a long obsolete sword though, concept art or not.

Good luck on the compo.

I use to play FF7. And I actually think the sword was longer in the game. Anyways I like the models. you have a similar style to the people who originally designed those characters.

Yeh I'm trying to keep the style of the characters, hence no real texture.

@Megaton I noticed a bit on the sword that is a lil bit too big, the guard, I'd best change that

Thanks for the comments

Well I was bored, and didn't feel like doing any proper modelling, been doing it for 2 days straight, so I set up a scene for sephiroth, just a floor and fire made with lights, nothing to complecated, the fire is the scene light, no added lights.

I am rendering a 16x16 antialias render of it now, zzzz... taking so long, its like under kilobyte a second internet loading a bitmap lol

I was hoping to give that effect, I never got the 16x16 anti alias render finished, took too long. I'm gonna get revision out of the way now, got 2 exams left, Tuesday and Wednesday, History and Physics, so I'll get back onto this on wednesday or when I get fed up of revision.

I lied, I did some today, I know I was going to go back to 3D on wednesday, but too addictive, well I set up a scene for the fight, textures aren't final and I added Sephiroth for effect

thanks, the floor and wall textures could do with work I'm sure everyone agrees.

For the dumpstar, I wanted a rusty look, but the rust texture generator in C4D didn't exactly make it look good

thanks, the textures are generated, I'm gonna do my own better ones, at the moment I'm doing a test animation render, to see how much rendertime it takes, so its not boring I'm gonna add to the video in Win Movie maker (Premiere isn't installed so it'll have to do lol)

The reason the wall is sparkly is because I gave a hint of reflection and a noisy bump map, I though it might look good, I was wrong, so its gone in the animation render (well for 2 reasons really, the other being its takes some of the render time)

Will post it soon, still rendering about 75% complete

really? 675bytes/sec? Thats pretty slow for the server, other people have downloaded just fine from there, maybe you downloaded when the server was busy or something.

Well its only 4 seconds, so prepare to be disapointed! its just the camera movements in the style of a FF battle just before it begins, it was a simple camera movement test, Aeris will be replaced with Cloud, amd the background won't be a crappy grass texture and they will fight.
