well this time round it will be the toughest, the others would've been average, but if you've seen Eddie's work, and Flame has just shown his, I got a tough competition, not as hard as the CGT ones though, if eddie goes ahead with putting his into an animation, I'll be buggered, but considering this is not judge by a few suits, its an open vote, so people might think, eddie went to uni, you'd expect this, whereas seppuku has gone from useless to acceptable in just the one CC, I vote him, ya know it might end up like that, now I've said it, it won't happen, I'm just doing it as experience .

But to satisfy the pros at CGT I will re do the animation afterwards applying high detail as I will have an unlimited time restriction and I will have made my own concept art to work with.

Say, you still entering this? If you can't think of anime, you can resort to being weird and use Pokemon, it can't be as the idea of Samurai Kitty pizza service So you could do Pikachu strapped to a bench with a laser pointed at him as a James Bond style, with Team Rocket with Meowth in their hands (like the James bond baddy) and have the comment written, 'The names Chu, Pikachu' you know something silly like that

oh come on!! Have you no sense of humour, thats the kinda things that'll score you points on that forum, fine be a boring old fart
Um how about ummmmmmm.......

Azumi, of course, that is one AMAZING FILM, its not anime, be would be a good anime tranformation.....hang on, I'll 3D model her in the not so distant future.
If you're going ???? Azumi is a japanese movie set at the time of the Samurai, and a bunch of people have been trained as assasins to take out an evil politition who is trying to take over japan, and Azumi wins! obviously or otherwise they would'nt be making the sequel, what makes me laugh is the camp bad guy is never defends....and well look it up on Amazon, its a GREAT movie, its all in Japanese but has english subtitiles, so DS look her up on google and your image can be an anime version of her in whatever position she is in, in the ref image, unless you can think of anything better?

it'll be a smile, wouldn't you smile killing pikachu?

Oh and thanks for the comment, I've done more on his coat, but well I'm gonna get all of the coat but sleeves done before posting it up, and I've added creases unlike in the last one (well the last one had half arsed ones)

full trench coat, I was gonna go for cel shading, but I thought with a good texture, I can score better points with the 3D dudes at the challenge, so no cel shading (not even for the animation to be done after, eats up render time)

Coat still my favorite part it just keeps getting better. And I just
now noticed how good and realistic the pecs are nice. I was working on muscle stucture in zBrush and stuff started to get good at abs but the pecs were another story. You wanted me to practice some modeling so Im making a game with my freind its starting to look imo anyways some im getting that well need practice you said I should get.

I like the coat aswell the creases are well placed some need work like on the pecks area(assuming the coats skin tight) but the best thing about this is those cool eyes lol i know they aint textured but there cool like a crazed killer. Oh yeah is there more detail to be added to the belt? anywho cool model cant wait to se the animation.

Wow, Sepp, how did you do so well with the facial detail?
That part always gets me when I model people, I always make the eye sockets too big, or the forehead too flat, or the jaw too ape-like; it's annoying.
Excellent work!

I edit my posts, and so should you!

thanks for all the comments

@BenDstraw, good thing you are practicing, and well good luck with your game
@discostu, thanks, well I don't intend to make it skin tight, as for the belt, there will be more detail, at the moment the belt is 2 primitives which will be given more detail. As for the animation, its gonna be a still for the compo, considering the deadline is nearing.

@Mr Underhill, the facial detail is practice, and a look at the joan of arc tutorial I posted not so long a go, which you will find in the newsletter forum section, its directed at 3DSmax, but I used Cinema 4D so it is translatable to other apps.

and again thanks for the comments

thanks, I doubt I'll win, looking at my competition, but I think its either entrants or the winner (dunno which yet, hopefully the entrants) will be shown in the next issue of 3D world Magazine, if not I'll just send it into the gallery section and well the winner wins a copy of the texturing program, genetica.

well i've added arms, I had more detailed arms, they looked crap and deleted them, so I made more simple ones to ease on my rigging, oh and I've tested the rendering and rigging, I think having a light above his head gives him the evil look I want

Also! whilst rigging his arms I decided to make a tutorial as I went a long look under Cinema 4D in my forum in the link on my sig

Hey had a good idea your making an animation right if you dont mind I have a suggestion/idea. If youve ever seen the legends of Dragoon commercial you would see this cool fight scene but at the end the bad guys gets his head chopped off then he starts complaining that he got his head chopped off it was funny you should do something funny like that.

never seen it, the headless pikachu idea is a still, the animation will be based around the intro of FF8 but using FF7 characters, so no ones loosing their head, shame really, couldda used the idea, maybe after I've done the first anim, or make a short movie or something...

@BenD
As i said to Anime on MSN, those two bits of hair were to emphasise that it was him before I got to work on the trench coat, he's gonna have more hair after the rest of him is finished, I always leave hair to the last bit, cos I hate modelling hair lol
And thanks
@Anime
cheers dude

well another update dudes, I will make the fire less yellow and will sort out a few vertice problems and I put a metal flooring cos I figure it would give a nice relfection on the fire, but won't be final (standing on metal floor with fire one near by will melt his shoes )

cool render but at the moment his feet looks alittle blocky(he has lego feet)or is that what you meant by vertices problem . How detailed are you going to get I remember him having many useless accessories on his person EX. wrist bands, something around his chess, etc. Actually I didnt remember all that I went to google. . Good job on the sword.

the feet haven't been smoothed, something I forgot to do the sword was ripped from my old one, thought why waste time when I got a good model sword anyway, don't worry I am still considering my concept art, just need to get the overall body before I add those lil extras don't worry I haven't forgot the belty things around his chest
