This has been bugging me for quite a while...

I want to know what people know about that goes on at Groom Lake, Nevada. I heard its a test site for the US Military, and that in WW2 they tried to develop Flying Discs to spy on Germany (Or other way round?)

Anyway, Can anyone give me some information on Groom Lake? Anyone ever been there?

And ive searched Google on this topic loads... I just want your information too!

Oh heres a detailed map of it:

To be perfectly honest, I (and probably everybody else who is going to post at this topic) have no clue whatsoever as to what takes place in that base. This is probably a huge flamewar in the making.

Im going to say top secret testing USED TO go on there. But since the area has attracted so much attention, im sure they've moved their main operations to some other secret location.

im too lazy to look myself, but in school we learned all about it too, the government did make an attempt at flying discs, which if i recall, was not very successfull.

Maybe they should give tours and make it a tourist attraction. Then the government could use the money to fund the real top secret alien base(Our funding was cut back during the Clinton years).

P.S. There have been several unsuccessful* government tries at making flying discs. There have been some successful low altitude hobbist versions.

Unsuccessful non moving part/gravity powered etc... Yes there are other means of propulsion other than the standards of propellers(and turbines),wheels and rockets.

It is possible although not practical to make a fly saucer that has no propeller, jets or rockets.

Megaton:
Quote: "Bill Hamilton, Programmer-Analyst 4, University of California, Los Angeles, and Executive Director, Skywatch International, Inc., Lancaster, California: "Bill Uhouse's particular role in the secret government project was to build and test what he calls a simulator, 'a flying saucer simulator.' The reason for this is that the simulator had built into it the standard avionics that, for instance, our U.S. Air Force pilots are used to and they were taught with the simulator how to fly one of these gravity field-driven craft."

Summary of Bill Uhouse's Background:

*  Born 1924.
* Ten years fighter pilot in the U. S. Marine Corps.
* Fought in last part of WWII and Korean War.
* Honorable discharge as Marine Corps Captain.
* 1954-1958, employed as civilian mechanical engineer by U.S. Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio, to do experimental flight testing on various modified aircraft. Also asked to work on a "flying disc simulator" through a commercial civilian company called A-Link Aviation which manufactured simulators.
* 1958-1988, worked on "flying disc simulators" in which certain U.S. Air Force pilots trained. First functional simulator in 1958, copied from a "30-meter-diameter extraterrestrial craft retrieved in 1952 or 1953 from Kingman, Arizona."
* Retired and living in Nevada."

Not the best source... Ill try and find some more...

It has been documented on many reports on Groom Lake/Area 51 though

The government has successfully built flying discs for decades. A friend of my grandfather's blew one up with his shotgun over 20 years ago, and he gave me a piece of the glass.

If you want I can take a picture of it tonight and show you guys.

P.S. - I'm not being sarcastic--- it's the real thing!

The successful government attempts were generally done use a ring of propellers or jets and gyrostablization(the same thing that keeps a segway from falling over). But due to manuverablity and speed issues they have been thus far impractical.

The successful hobbyist saucers use the Ion Wind to propel themselves and thus have to be very light weight(can't carry a human) and thus also impractical.

The eventual goal of either would be a solid state flying craft(no moving parts) preferably silent as well. This is not yet currently possible as scientists don't currently know how to create, destroy, or otherwise modify gravity. What they do know(proven by Einstein) is that gravity can bend space. That fact is what "gravity/warp" propulsion is based on. That would be shrinking the distance between your self and something in front of it and then moving toward it. The more you shrink the distance(the greater the warp factor for Trekkies) the faster the object would perceptively move. Impulse(AKA Ion) drives are currently used by NASA for deep space probs. These consist of a solar panel and a rear facing ion drive.

I've personally done through research on this subject in high school and built an ion wind generator capable of lifting itself-power supply for a science project then. My highschool physics teacher still has it.

P.S. As far as gravity goes. Scientists at the US's to largest particle accelerators are currently looking for the graviton particle to prove it's existence. Probabilty says they'll prove/disprove it by '07 or sooner. If they prove it they can beging to find ways to effect it and move one objects mass to another thereby increasing one gravity and decreasing the other one.

Yep, partially right there. He couldn't even tie his shoes and was kicked out of school 3 times for being "stupid", but he is still considered what of the great minds of the 20th century. Shows what schools know and I always prefered velcro anyway.

P.S. Einstien only wrote the proof on that one someone else show it to him first but couldn't prove it. It explains why light from distant galaxies bends near high gravity celestial objects and also has been the basic for the proof of 3 black holes to date. By using the amount of bend in the light they've found 3 objects whose mass would give them gravitional pull of 186K Miles/Sec/Sec (Which means they can pull in light and there for would be black holes). The 3 was as of fall last year, prolly another 1 or two by know. They also use it the find extrasolar planets(ones not around our sun).

No problem. I will definitely get a picture of it up here tonight. I wrote a few paragraphs on the full story on the flying "disc" about a year ago on here. Can't seem to find the thread.

Anyways it was a hovering saucer flying over his farm, and it was quite large. For an old Canadian farmer to see this, he was rightly freaked, so he blew it up with his shotgun. His wife was paranoid and made him bury it under 20 feet of dirt with his bulldozer.

Over the next several days there were vans with radar towers driving around the area.

15 years later (!!!) he told my grandfather the story, and we went out to the farm and started digging. We recovered a bunch of glass and microchips. It was obviously human engineered as it had alphanumeric letters on it.

So that's where the glass came from

Im sure i saw something on tele that said if you attatch 250 coils of No.32 wire (or No.37 wire, cant remember) to the mains, it will actually hover and move about unexplainably. It looked pretty dangerous though and needs a lot more research but it did actually work. There has also been a few 'UFO' sightings which appear to use this technology (powered by a glowing ring).

BTW: Einstein's theories are usually proven entirely false they usually just find an exception to the rule. Just as newton "Matter can neither be created or detroyed" was disproven by Einstein with E=MC^2. It wasn't truely disproven only modified.
Most scientist are usually right but rules were made to be broken. Pushing the limits and breaking the rules is what science is about.
