Greatness.

Due to a minor site bug, I'm going to chage some things on the site again. Not sure what, but expect down time and changes. All acount data will remain.

Cheers, though I suggest you wait a few days, as I'm soon to upload a much better, heavily changed version. You'll love it. I know I do!

EDITZORZ

I've actually uploaded that version now! It features lots of cool new tricks. New entity system, environment emulation via config file. Other stuff. Check the AGE page of my site.

PS, I have yet to update the frameworks for this version of age, will do that later on. However, the prefab pack has been updated, so grab that too.

OK, so are you telling me to wait or that it's ready? ROFL

P.S.
If you need any help with the website I may be able to help...I'm ok with html. I could write up the site, then e-mail it to you(you would have to let me know the locations of the images, site pages, etc, also what the site should look like). I'm offering to do it because I'm bored and have way too much time on my hands...but I don't expect to be allowed to do this for ya, it's just an offer.

It's ready. I was working on the frameworks all of lastnight, which is no fun when you're ill! If I feel up to it later then I'll continue working on them. As for offering to make me a site, that's very kind of you indeed. If you feel that you could make something better than what I already have, then please do give it a shot.

Haha, yeah, it went down shortly after you made that post. I'll prod jimmy tomorrow.

In AGE news, I'm still working away on the frameworks. I've added an extra array for fast reading of usual object data that is called every loop(collision). This saves having to parse the entity string every loop a zillion times, and the change in fps shows. I've just spent the past few hours on a new sliding collision function. This one is faster than all of the previous ones, and as accurate as ever.

Ideally I'll try to make the parser faster(maybe use a plugin), as a lot depends upon the speed of it.

oh...i assumed it was my computer ROFL. my computer at home is junk...I love my first hour of school though. they're computers rock and first hour is keyboarding. we only do one lesson a day and I finish it sometiems before class even starts...so i end up with 20-45 minutes of free computer time.

by the way, just post up here when the site is back up and i should have at least a home page example by the morning after...however i can't get it to you in the morning...so it will get to you between 4 and 9pm CST

I will indeed be implementing those physics, as soon as I have the time and room, and dbp 5.9 is at a stable release. Also, I have my own LOD and BB methods designed. I've actually been keeping close tabs on that thread too. Thanks for sharing FXTC.

I've been adding hash tables to the basic framework, and this morning, I finished doing that. Now I can add some condition statements too. I'm wondering what to tackle next though, and I have a week before dbspot is back up, so I guess I'll do full on age based coding in that week. So I can either do:

*LoD and BB
*Conditions and scripts
*New collision types
*Upgrade the lighting system

I think I'll look into conditions and scripts.

PS, this time I'm going to make sure that this one framework is finished before moving on to the others, unless of course I plug them all together and make one UBER framework of UBERN3SS1

But we'll see...

Aura: The site is not working for me. It says that it does not exist. It is 10:12 AM Eastern Time where I am, and I am not sure if your server is down. It looks really cool, and I was wondering if you can export the entities and object positions to DBP code from the editor or just something that could be loaded to DBP.

Thanks FXTC, but I'm trying to develop my own scripting system, though rest assured that I will use something like LUA if I screw up!
As for your site proposition, it sounds very interesting. The site is down, and will be for a week, so lets not worry about it till it's up again.

Gamedev, wait a week! I guess I should try and find somebody to host the exe while the site's down. The last update was pretty cool after all.

Am attempting to upload the new age framework, but I keep timing out before it's done, and it's only 222KB. How I miss dbspot.
Last try now. This time it's the 24KB rar.

Anyway, this framework is the past three frameworks(MMORPG, Basics et Multiplayer) all glued together in one neat little package. It uses the new entity system found in age 1.0.4, new hash table system for faster run time and a new collision system for faster collision detection. Requires Multisync to compile(read the "READ ME.txt" file for more info on that).

The first post was much better. But anyway, enjoy!

Don't get too comfortable with placing grass. I intend to have objects with the id of a terrain to have automatic grass placement. Will be faster.

Quote: "hurry up and get thos eother prefabs so i can make terrain and stuff"

What other prefabs? And I hope you're using the terrain generator!

Quote: "I am still playing with it, but will you have a help file?"

The basics of everything is covered in the documents folder. That's it!

Also, I've started work on AGE2, but will still be updating AGE, as they're both quite different programs. While AGE works with DBP to create games, AGE2 will be a totally independent game development system. Also, AGE2 will cost, but not much. I'll be needing a few beta testers eventually, which will probably be you guys if you want, so you'll get free copies anyway.

Here's an update to TEH MAIN FRAMEWORKz0rz >>>>>>>>>
