Nah doesn't sound very converting, imagine a Jehova's witness swearing and flaming at you for wearing an iron maiden t-shirt, and saying how you shouldn't do that because its evil, and then suddenly becoming a Jehovas witness, it has the same idea, although Jehova's witness aren't the right scale.

So, the mod squad, me and many other users are noobs?

Seppuku, I think you're taking it to a rather extreme though. I understand your viewpoint, but it isn't comparible to compare a Iron Maiden fan with a noob...noobs are really really stupid, all we do is educate them through sometimes unkind words, but really, the message isnt a bad one.

Seppuku Arts - there's a big difference between a noob and a n00B. One is some guy asking how to fix his camera following problem. Those guys get helped. I personally help all the time.

The other is trying to pool the talent (without any of his/her own) of TGC forums to make his ultimate crap game. I personally flame these guys, but I do it lovingly and gently.

Noobs are inevitable, but dumb team requests don't have to be. That's just about the only reason people get flamed. And if they can't take the advice in stride and bounce back, they probably never would have hung in there anyway.

Dude, lighten up. It's just a clever slogan.

You know what I do think - people who flame noobs, but never help them out, should shut their mouths. It's like someone who complains but never offers a solution.

You can't build a reputation on just being negative. Sure, I'm a jerk sometimes, but I will do whatever I can to help out a legitimate noob.

I know that people who post their Zombie MMORPG ideas have nothing to get helped with. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm just saying that the people who flame those threads should also be helping out the real ones. And, they should have a game or two made for legitimacy. Otherwise, it's fake.

i really like what someone said before, theres two types of noobs, one likes to post wips way too early or create team requests without any experience and do theses things over and over again, then there is the "legitimate" noob, this is the one who is honestly trying to learn dbpro instead of making 1337 team requests on wip

In my opinion, if a person is too lazy to browse forums before they post, such as is the case here, they deserve to be flamed. Yes you should help people who are ignorant, but not people who are ignorant because its their own fault. I would be perfectly willing to help out a noob who asks a legit question, and in my eyes thats one of the visions of the ANJL. If all I thought the ANJL was were flamers, I'd never have joined. But I also saw some of the good it had done. But honestly, if someone just comes in here and posts some stupid team request, they deserve to be flamed. If one, just one, would post up some proof of it being legitimate, I'd probably help in any way I could.

Let me get this straight - a bunch of you, who collectively have dip-shit all in the way of skills or releases, to show for yourselves, are forming an anti-noob collective? and then spamming their threads to death with crap?

Oh man, that just made my day. I haven't laughed so hard for ages. The irony is utterly sublime.

If it wasn't for the fact I'm still amused by this, I'd noob-slap you all for being complete spanners. But, let's see how this progresses...

lol @ Davey, it would be ironic if you did newb slap em

Quote: " I think Sepp is just bringing up a point.

Thanks, I'm an iron maiden fan too, but I was using a paralellish scenario really, people aren't gonna respond well to flaming is what I was really saying, so why should newbs, its not helping anyone

Like some of these anti government people, and anti-exploitation etc. people do, all they do is flame and preach, and do bugger all, if you feel strong about something, you don't nag, you just sort it out at the roots, but there are things that are inevitable and you should live with, like crappy politicians and the Crazy frog (people tried to kill him, but he's still around)

Quote: " Seppuku. You're really taking this personally huh? lol"

not so much personally, never been a noob, only ever been newb slappped once, and that was when I was joking around and a mod thought I meant what I said, and then theres the odd stupid post, like the 'dudes chill out' one where I start two threads after that one got locked, I just think starting a noob flaming society is stupid, pathetic and does more worse than good.

That was me
Anyway, this ANJL is getting out of control. It was a funny idea for that game, but it's being taken too seriously and turning into a spam fest. And unfortunately, I don't feel that every member is qualified to tell other noobs anything. Like I said, if you can't help, you shouldn't criticize.

Not to reply really but to extend on what I was saying, and what you were saying.

If this was joke, then how come we haven't heard from the newb in this thread ever since the newb flaming happened, practical and extended jokes are hard for people to pick up over the internet, because you don't have that body language, therefore, if this whole thing was a joke, then you guys did a crap job of doing it

I didnt start it so it wasn't my job...sorry about that though. I was just having some fun, while the oppurtunity was there. I never meant to hurt anyone's feelings but I guess I did, and I apologize sincerely to those people. However, I still would have flamed this one at least a little bit, I won't lie.
