Hi ya, how about:
*A radio or CD/ stereo (ghetto blaster) thingy...
then we could add some music trigger points in our levels.
*A TV (Plasma or LCD type)
*an XBOX (so i can add the animated 'fire' decal on top of it.)
*A pile of horse/cow dung (only because i then want to add some steam to it...that would kinda be stupid any funny all at the same time...but i think a bit of humour is a good thing in a fps)
*An answering machine...again for the sound trigger potentials...as a way of telling or advancing the narrative or giving clues in the game/level.
I guess the general idea i'm kinda getting at is to have items that
have a purpose and can be placed in your levels to help to provide more info to the player with the sound triggers that we can make and add ourselves, depending on the type of game we are making...
In games like F.E.A.R. and Vampire-The masuerade: Bloodlines, the player could gained info from objects in the game like the answering machines etc and this type of game play helped drive the story/objectives/quests. Hope this makes sense.
Keep up the good work,
cheers,
Munky
