Yeah, an extension would be nice-I'll probably get it in on time, but it's looking tight.

slightly off topic but @ooga, does your model have a uvmap/texture? or is it all procedurally generated material? as i highly doubt the chrome is in the texture and it seems unfair that others skin it while you simply use 'render tricks'.

I always use materials, i don't make models for games most of the time so unless I need to i don't bother making a UVMap. If Sepp thinks this is unfair he can disqualify my entry and add a no shaders rule. Usually the person who makes the contest decides if shaders are allowed, and as sepp mentioned in the 3d contest thread, this has only been done once.

For my final render, I removed sub-surf to save 15000 polys, and the only thing I lost quality-wise was some of the roundness in the wings! Unfortunately, my lighting and texturing skills are horrendous, but erm...look! I lost 15000 Polys!

And for proof:

Spec' The Dragon
552 Polygons

He isnt textured, and IMO not finished being modelled either, but I've been stomped with school projects and ISU's for the whole week so this is all I've gotten done so far. Im gona be texturing/tweeking the model after this post but incase I dont finish in time, here he is (untextured):

<EDIT>

People have been saying it looks like that Pokemon Lugia, so here's a bit of a colour change (Im keeping both because I like both colours)

And the mesh:

Ill edit this post with updates as I work on it, but since the edit function is buggered for the time being Ill wait until the model is completely done to post the final if the edit problem hasnt been fixed after each update.

I like both Musashi's and Ooga Booga's dragons.

However, I think Ooga Booga made best use of polys and I like his concept.

My vote goes to Ooga Booga

I'm gonna say what Eve said to Adam when they met, oooh thats a hard one.

I'm debating between MikeS, Bahamut (The person, I'm not voting for mine ) or Heckno...

after a lot of thought, although I liked Bahamut's fire effect remind me of a purple charizard (and RUCCUS's Lugia, I think there's a pokemon thing going on here ) but I choose;

MikeS and not because he's a mod

I really dont see the resemblance between that and mine. The only similarity is it has wings, two legs, and a helmet-style head (all of which look different). I didnt base it on Lugia at all, I just modelled what came to mind.

Don't worry RUCCUS we were only teasing, we know it doesn't look like him and isn't supposed to either, but its a bit of fun Didn't need to change the colour, but either way it looks great.

@Dark Serpant, I see, well welcome back and hope your arm is getting better and will be glad to see more of your entries, shame you couldn't enter this one, as people have done really well on their dragons and yours would have been a worthy piece if you made one Well good luck in your next entry

You've already submitted your entry lilgamz, this isn't an appropriate place for .exe files. It's not fair to everyone else who doesn't have a .exe.

You've also cross posted here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=80752&b=25

@MikeS ditto, lil gamz, you can only make one entry post, it saves confusion and keeps things tidy, as (Ruccus?) has pointed out before, its good to see you implemented it into an exe however it effects nothing

@ Daten: Wow, that's really good! I'm not changing my vote though. I still really like Oogas.

However at the risk of sounding like a bad loser (I'm not, really!), I do wonder whether you made that within the time of the contest. I'm only wondering because your join date's today, and many have made that mistake before. Plus it looks like it took a really long time to make.

If you did make it after the start date, then I'm really sorry for the accusation. That really is a good model, and I hope you do well.
