solid man, best words in that was "Thats all greek mythology". you cant expect everyone to understand the real depth of this discussion with out being Muslim and living by Shahada.

much respect Xeno.

Inshallah, really hope this game goes far for you.

tell that to the jewish family, mega.

Oz,jeku?

Xeno,I had a thought. Eric Shrody(EverLast,Whitey Ford, etc) quotes the Shahada in "Put your lights on" that he does with Joe Santana, twice. (and yes he is Muslim, since 1996) ALOT of friends hear the song and call me asking what he's saying.

Why dont you do the same? find inconspicous places in your game and have a non player character throw out random islamic phrases like Salamun Alaikum, Wa Alaikum Bil Salam, Mashallah, etc Or even an npc that quotes something to the effect of "God of Time?! La Ilaha Il Allah, nuff said.."

It would amuse any muslim player and be something of curiosity to most anyone else.

ok, and while we're at it, why doesn't every Christian making a game do they same thing, like everytime you finish talking to an NPC they can say "God Bless You" or "May Jesus Guide Your Life"? Your starting to get a bit ridiculous with this x1bwork. I have no problem with you holding your own beliefs but when you start criticizing Xeno for referencing Greek Mythology rather than Islam, and giving him tips on how to add inconspicous things that relate to Islam, it get's annoying...give it a rest, just because someone hears the word "Salam" doesn't mean they are going to convert to Islam. Please just leave religion out of this, it's getting quite ridiculous. Sorry for the thread hijack Xeno, good luck with the game, post new screens soon .

dont get your panties in a bunch, princess. xeno and I understand.

you havent clue where this even began and seems it went totally over your head as to where it ended, you're beyond clueless and just sounded like a fool.

at risk of repeating my self, Inshallah, hope you go far with this Xeno.

Actually, Gil, not meaning to take any sides or start any arguements... really, I have found it quite fun and cool that the NPC's spoke my language

And I have heard 'God bless you' in Hitman... he speaks to the father...

Oh well.. can't wait for that music.. actually I can... but can't wait

Quote: "dont get your panties in a bunch, princess. xeno and I understand."

Ok, even if you and Xeno understand, it still doesn't justify your trying to get him to add the inconspicous references to Islam in the game, how would you like it if, as I said:
Quote: "why doesn't every Christian making a game do they same thing, like everytime you finish talking to an NPC they can say "God Bless You" or "May Jesus Guide Your Life"?"

Quote: "you're beyond clueless now."

Quote: "You mentioned you where Muslim,Xeno, but you named this game "God of Time"? either youre anything but muslim or youve somehow forgotten the shahada. personally dont care what you call it, but to represent Islam and directly disregard the shahada, is a bit(alot) messed up."

I'd call that criticism...

Adding Islamic references to an Indi RPG game isn't going to convert anyone, and anyone who's not Muslim is probably not going to have a clue why there's a random word like those in there. There's just no point to it...

EDIT: Xeno posted while I wrote this...give me a sec to reply .

Quote: "Actually, Gil, not meaning to take any sides or start any arguements... really, I have found it quite fun and cool that the NPC's spoke my language "

That's cool, but the point is, most people who play this will most likely not be Muslims, and won't have any idea what they're talking about. It just seems pointless to add something like that merely to reference/support your religion to a game where it doesn't make sense, as it would be quite ridiculous in a game to say "May the Lord be with you", if I'm setting it in Pagan Rome. If I'm setting it in a fantasy/futuristic, Roman (who were pagans for most of the span of their empire, and at the final centuries largely "converted" to Christianity) mix, it doesn't really make sense to add Islamic words. If this was in Medieval Jerusalam (spl?), like Assassins Creed, then by all means, it add's TO the world if you add Arabic/Islamic words into the environment .

Quote: "And I have heard 'God bless you' in Hitman... he speaks to the father..."

Yes but I feel sure that the producers didn't add it in as a reference to Christianity .

Quote: "
(P.s. axe 1 and sword 1 for the model pack in the 3D board)"

Cool, I'll check it out .

Ok, enough with the religious debate, you do what you want Xeno, it's your game .

I think, gil, you way misunderstood what Xeno and I are saying. And youre beyond right,Xeno nor I can "convert" anyone or thing to Islam, nor do we care to. Its just no mans job. This is why, unlike most religions, you just wont see a Muslim knocking on your door with a fake smile painted on his face. But lets let this drop now,Xeno and I are very much on the same level and he fully and completely has my support in his project.

Xeno: The game looks way cool,I have ALOT of media and code I can contribute,I just need to verify what and how I can legally transfer media to your name.

If only those Muslim extremists in the Middle east realized the powerful brain washing potential of video games and spent money on Arab game dev teams rather then on rockets and guns and stuff.

Imagine how many they wouldd convert! I personally can't wait for such hot titles as Allah's Bonestorm 2007 and the critically acclaimed MMORPG "Land Of Zionism: The cleaning".

Sorry about the music. I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to do it and then was completely dissapointed in the results. Here is the original with just the battle music netatened up a bit as a place holder until I can get something I'm happy with. Sorry again.

Hey Heyy, anything that you tried at for four hours is good enough, don't put yourself down

(just listened to it)

I loved it

Although, one thing, it may not fit battle music all too well (It needs a radical drum beat). If you could tell me the beat (4/4) or (3/3) I cold fix a good drum beat for it and its Battle Music!!

But I'm not sure how I can combine two files into one song... I'll figure it out

4/4 I believe but if drums is all you need I'll give that a shot too.

WOW...you are really far along with a very excellent project. I want to say that what this WIP shows me is that you know how to refine your process, and you have already gotten some solid resource finding/manufacturing skills. Also, you know that aspiring actors/actresses in drama clubs like to do voice work right? Have you seen how Red vs. Blue is done? That is very funny to me, BTW.

I recently purchased a digital camera for $10. Don't laugh, you can get great pictures with them usually. You do need to use copy stands of some sort, and lights...but hey, its 10 bucks! Also, my printer has a scanner and media plug-ins.

Well, I am going to look some more at your project. I just wanted to tell you I like your work.

Thank you very much jinzai

I really love all these comments.

I've decided to make a placeholder dummy for the roman soldiers and then work really hard on the roman soldier model. That way, I can get combat done and just make the model later.

Ok, erll combat is working out pretty good. When you swing the sword, the collision detection between sword and enemy is turning out almost perfect. Soon my friends, soon will come a video and maybe a demo

Looks pretty good. I would maybe increase the size of the helmet, if possible, and possibly fiddle with the pants and shirt a little bit. It kind of just looks like red for the most part, but it is a very nice model anyways!
