DGM, yes you may use any of the graphics I posted here, no worries.

Be well, and have fun.

Cheers!

P.S. I have not received any emails recently. Although I should check my hotmail accounts just in case..

Much gratitude, David!

Yes, I sent the e-mail to a hotmail account. I respect your right and desire to have people get your permission first, but I have to say that it isn't easy to contact you.

Also, since I only mentioned this in the e-mail and not in the above post, I should emphasize that the final version of my game is intended to be a commercial product. You're okay with the use of your graphics even then?

Argh. If someone who doesn't have to wait for moderator approval to post reads this, could you please bump the thread so that the "last post" section updates? I would appreciate it.

To the administrators: if delaying posts improves the quality of your forums, I have no objection to that. But I'd be grateful if you'd have the forum software let the world know when a post does finally get through. Having to wait over 2 weeks for a reply because no one knows you've said anything doesn't make talking here very practical.

Hey David,

Not much of a vector artist I'm afraid and I was wondering if you could possibly make a 'Thumbs Up' and 'Thumbs Down' Silhouette Vector?

Cian what do you mean by a vector? as in a scalable resizable always nice and smooth vector graphic? like a font or a corel type thing? I don't have vector software, well, Paint Shop Pro has vector graphics, but I have never used them.

Speaking of fonts, a thumbs up/thumbs down image might be found in the various dingbat type fonts, try a google search for that. You might find what you need and more.

Cheers!

Mr. Gervais,

I sent you another e-mail a few days ago like you asked. Did it get through?

If not, you can go here for the demo and discussion on the game:
http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=13452&page=0

P.S. Again, if someone who can post without needing moderator approval would bump the thread, I would appreciate it.

That looks pretty cool Shadow, but really I think the best format for explosions is to have all the images on a grid on 1 big image, then in code you'd grab them and texture a plain or paste the images one at a time in sequence.

We're always looking for nice explosion animations. If you can put them on a grid I'd be happy to make a little code example on how to use it.

Also heres some 2d background textures I made, I was gonna use it in the plaformer I am working on. I might not. Anyway there big so you'll have to download them.

This doesn't necessarily have to be for 2D. For instance, you can use the cards as textures to your objects.

All:

Here is a small group of add-on pictures to David Gervais' free RPG tileset. All are derived from his original work.

David, would you send an email to the address shown below? I want to hand over the rest of the small changes I've made to your excellent graphics, and also ask you a few questions about them.

Leon I sent an email at the beginning of last week, still no reply. I guess my email is either being spam filtered or we are not compatible.

my ISP is sympatico.ca and the address is david.gervais60 perhaps you can try sending from your end. It's strange, many people try and fail to send me e-mail and I fail to send them. no error messages, just gets sent into the void.

Oh well, you are free to play with any of the graphics you see on the site you got your samples from. I made them to help programmers who are less then 'profficiant' with graphics.

Enjoy, cheers!

=============

I've updated the add-on graphics picture above. They ain't much, but hey I'm no artist. Just a coder.

Reason for contacting you is to ask a question:

Recently, several people (of which the creator of TomeTik is one) have been working hard to get *bands to make better use of your tiles. And not a moment too soon! An example screenshot of my own venture is , and some discussion about *band graphics in general is at http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=18. Have you an interest in providing updated tiles for Angband or any variant of Angband to help with these efforts?

Yours,
Leon

Advice on the rpg tiles- make the brick walls end halfway up, then have the top half of the tile a sort of top view of a box. That way the wall wont look like a floor.

Freddix, I too cannot get to the site, my guess is it is no longer available Oh well, nothing on the net is permanent.

Cheers!

P.S. it is not my site, but rather somebody else's and they had my permission to place my graphics there. you can get all the rpg tiles that were on that sight by finding and downloading the TK versions of Angband and grab the demo for Dungeon Odyssey.

I figured this would be a good place to post these images. I took the photographs myself, then alpha mapped them (yes, alpha mapping trees is insanely tedious). I have never posted on the 2d boards, so I figured I might miss a few people if I only posted these for free in my WeedWorks thread.

They are Isometric, at a 45 from above, but can be used for first person. Feel free to use the images as you see fit, only restrictions are do not redistribute them in a pack, modify then, resell them or claim them as your own.

Enjoy

This is one of my games made in C++. I made all of the images myself, most in paint. I included all of the images and the game FREE.

The problem is that I am bad at making graphics. You can change all the graphics in the game by going to the res directory. e.g. you can make this a underwater themed game by changing the images to a underwatery-style.

There are no restrictions on anything included with the download.

P.S. the .red format is a format I made up, you can open these in paint.

P.P.S. I meant thet you could edit the .red files in paint and you'll see them in the game

P.P.P.S. actually the .red file is identical to .bmp so you can edit them in anything that supports bitmaps as long as it can output as .red files

P.P.P.P.S. well, you can change it to .bmp then edit it then change it back to .red

From the office of... Dr. Schnitzengruber
