Here zombies... that's right. Come here and take my order. No no, don't run sideways, come straight here and take my order. That's a good zombie. Stop with the funny limp and come here. Right here. What'll I have? I want you, zombie! I want you and all your little zombie friends. I want you all wrapped up in a neat little installer so I can have you and squeeze you and play with you.

What's that? I don't understand. Speak English you mumbling, limping, fool! And your ugly to boot! Hey, stop that! What are you doing?! ARGGGGG.........!!!

This pack Rocks!!! I love the new shader, and am now in the process of trying to get the zombies from part 1 to use it as well.

Thanks for your hard work and sharing your inovative skills my friend. It's become a habit now, I buy your latest pack, and spend days ripping it apart, to see how the Master makes his Magic.

And I'm still hopful that we'll see some non-biped, non humanoid creatures in the future. Hint, Hint!!

Have a good one brother, good luck with the pack, and thanks again.

I love it :'D
But for some reason the shader acts as if there is a light always above the character, for both the shading and planar shadow.
Maybe my graphics card isn't 100% compatible, or is it another problem?

Oops, I did actually include the wrong shader with the pack, attached is the correct one that will give you the shading as seen in the video.

Remember though, that shadows will still be top down for now until a future FPSC update. But you can still specify a shadow light position using Dark Shader that will give you a hard coded light position for shadows, which is especially handy for outdoor levels. This shader uses perspective shadows, so they will maintain their correct orientation instead of "swinging around" with the character.

OK, What's the deal with the orange normals, are they a colorized (altered hue) version of the original violet normal style maps?

And do they have an advantage over the violet type, and or, are they required specifically by the new shader?

And are they generated using a specific app or what? Can you explain this if you have the time? Thanks my friend.

They are a type of normal map that reduces artifacting, I think.

I don't know how to generate them sadly, however if you want the shader to work with regular normal maps just comment out the line:
Quote: "normalmap.xyzw = normalmap.wyxx; //swizzle for quality DXT5nm normal map format"
by putting '//' before it.(that line is about 80% of the way down)

Uzi is right, to let the shader use the regular "blue" normal map format just comment out the line referenced in his post above.

The DXT5nm format just uses a higher quality compression algorithm optimized for normal maps that reduces blockiness. There are several variants of this format, but the "orange" version is generated using Nvidia's Texture Tools 2: http://origin-developer.nvidia.com/object/texture_tools.html

Unfortunately it's a command line tool, so there is no nice GUI for it, but you can get the command line tool here: http://code.google.com/p/nvidia-texture-tools/wiki/CommandLineTools

If you use Photoshop, then someone built a frontend for it that lets you export directly from photoshop: http://docs.kaneva.com/mediawiki/index.php/Photoshop_DDS_Exporter

Another plus is that if you have an Nvidia card, then it will use CUDA acceleration to compress the normal maps, so they will compress in a blink of an eye, rather than several seconds it takes normally.

Amazingly awesome. Quick question, not sure if I'm seeing things. After I kill one I move down my hallway and turn around and I see the one I just killed walking in place and when I get close to him he disappears. Do I have something installed wrong. I ask because I rearranged my entitybank (no others though) so I could find things better.

Okay so i found a bug. So when you have atleast 3 zombies attacking all the other ones start walking in place. Is there a fix for this?

I have been away too long, because I missed this one and alot of other packs that have come out. (AGK's fault)
This looks better than awesome, so I have to think about choosing a new word for describing this stuff.
I have the perfect use for Nazi Zombies in a dream sequence for a screen play I'm developing, so these are great and right on time. (ahead of time actually)
That zombie dragging himself after getting shot in the leg is just cooler than cool.

Kudos to Bond for his continual efforts to outdo himself, and for sharing his beautiful work with us.

This is awesome! I'll be buying them soon, all your characters are top quality, way above the norm or FPSC, and the main characters your doing is horror themed at this quality, and I love them! One thing FPSC needs though is a variety of characters at top quality, are you planning anything big or any MP's coming up? Again I'm not angry about the zombie packs but very happy cause there perfect!

LOL
I had a lot of fun making overlays for that texture to make shirts though.

The German Zombie 4 appeared as German Zombie 3 in the editor's library, so I edited the german zombie 4's FPE file's DESCription to correct it.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but it's an easy fix.
