Starting one of my annual "latest model threads" again. The main style here is for a hacking related game, but Im pretty much focusing on testing out my animation skills more than anything (so Ill post animations here as I make them as well).

My current player mesh Im working on (a hacker):

His gear (rushed, nothing special)

And a test animation with using bipeds:

More to come.

very nice walk cycle mate, just needs a tiny head wobble to add more realism.
smooth as now however.

the tearing is visible in the armpits, we spoke about this later so i guess it makes sense now as to adding polys in this area etc..

good work mate.

Thanks indi,

Heres my most recent rig, my hacker model doing a simple walk animation (its one of the prefab animations), took a while to get the hand rigging right.

i like the animation, its coming along.

if you wanted an oinion at all i think there are some things to change about the model to make it more proportionate:

-head needs to be slighty bigger, and placed directly above the shoulders and forwards a bit. (unless he is supossed to be a hunchbacked hacker with a fear of sunlight)
-the neck should be roughly the same diameter all the way up.
-thumbs are too thin/small should be fatter.
-and you may have noticed, but your guy looks a little starved of oxygen

Thanks for the input el zicho, Ill take them into consideration. I agree about the thumbs the most, they were fairly rushed.

Here's another model I whipped up in about half an hour:

An old wise man head xD, click image to view a video of it spinning.

Ruccus, what do you use to animate? Are those your bones? Are they motion captured?

Great work so far

theyre the prefab bones that come with XSI. I was just happy I rigged it properly.

<EDIT>

But I did the animation for the basketball scene without and prefabs, just manually positioned the biped limbs myself.

Ooohh the jeans are a little tight on the hacker! I hate tight jeans. Please be aware, this isnt a critiscism of your model, nor your modelling/animation skills, tis just a personal preference. The old guy is looking cool by the way. You seem to be making the most of XSI!

The legs on the old guy are the same as the legs from the hacker, just a different texture .

Anyways, here's the chinaman rigged and walking>>

And here's a skateboard I made for him:

yeah I noticed the knee bend, I kind of liked it myself, looks cartoony to me (not trying to make an excuse for my horrible rigging xD). About the board... well erm... hes wise and stuff, so he knows how to make it stay there.

Heres another
