Only you can answer that.

Nobody would care if you'd asked out to get the model working with FPSC. The problem is you claimed it was your own work. That's a flat out lie. Lying for attention is pathetic. You ruin your credibility and you establish a precedent. Anything you ever post from now own will be suspect.

@cash cutis II, templar, and seth black...

...don't need anyone's permission to make your own media.

Still ponderous as heck. If you had this skillset, I doubt if you would've posted this thread, and any of the others, that you've fessed up to being deceptive.

Make your stuff. I'll never believe it's yours for a moment. Doubtful many others will either.

You've basically tossed chum in the water at this point. The sharks are circling...

]Possibly Illegal. Using any media from games is Illegal unless you got permission from the original creator.

use for reference im sure is fine but you would have to re animate it for use, as the animations won't be yours.

and same for the texture incase you were wondering

...if you're making it from scratch, why do you need to ask us what you can use for reference?

You keep very delicately dancing along the line of the copyright issue, probing to see if you can find a loophole that this community would find acceptable. I've seen this in other posts from you.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=121443&b=24

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=120796&b=25

No part of copyright violation is acceptable.

You can't model. You can't animate. You're going to try to claim you created something from the ground up right before our eyes, and expect us to believe you?

The haunch of your model appears to be the unhidden and flat shaded surfaces of the original raptor model...nothing more.

Whats the point of using another model as a reference when it is obvious you will just copy the model completely and say you did it from scratch. In theory yes you did do it from scratch but that is similar to tracing a picture out of a book. You did it yourself but you just copied it, you didn't create it.

...it's not uncommon for 3D artists to use a reference background image to work from.

Unfortunately, Goosebox is attempting to recreate the same darn raptor model, right before our eyes.

Yea, right. Who models like he's demonstrating?

1. Start with skeleton.

2. Begin constructing mesh around bones, perfectly
positioning, centering and scaling mesh to accomodate the skeleton as you go
.

If he's using the original model's bones, and animation, I see no reason to believe that he's not just attempting to use the mesh again, too.

That screenshot appears to be nothing more than the tail end of the original, with the mesh unhidden, and flat shaded.

He'll most likely tell us he made it...on account of the visual proof he's given us.

ok so make it sound like if you were gonna make another velicoraptor you would pirate a different one.

goose ill be honest you're wierd. you ask permission to make media, then you decide not to because people suspect things.

Well you were caught red handed, not matter if you make a model or release a texture, you're going to be suspected, because you have a history of it. thats just how that is. but you cant stop trying to make media just because people on a forum suspect you of pirating it. thats just dumb.

You'll Know When You See It.

I understand using a reference picture. Your not actually copying something entirely your using it to create something. Opening a model in a model application to copy all the points etc (dont know anything about modeling) is practically recreating that persons model

Are you so desperate for a Halo Raptor wielding a Halo battle rifle that you would break the law? Silly idea anyhow to start with plus illegal, the halo armor and gun anyhow. Model it yourself or pay someone to.

@templar
yeah i understand where you are coming from, if i used the skeleton, that would be like recreating the Gunman Raptor. but i guess if i used a picture of a raptor off of google, (if i can get one), maybe that would really be not recreating the Rewolf Raptor, instead i would be creating a raptor off a picture as a reference.....

@wraith,
im going to have to agree with slayer222, i mean with the halo-ish look, but, otherwise i don't know, im still going to need some practice with my modeling skills....

There's a dinosaur model with DarkMatter1. It would be pretty easy to reanimate the thing for use with FPSC. So long as you don't try and claim it for your own like you just did it would be okay and save you from having to model or texture it.

In the end if you use the Halo model, who really cares? It's not like you're going to create a commercial game. The problem is claiming it as your own, there's no excuse for that.

I've never really listened to German music, and my TV is British Sky Satellite. I do like rock and metal, though.

Dudes... LIKE I KEEP SAYING: I don't want a Halo raptor... I want a raptor in some sort of futuristic armor (Of my OWN invention), who has a gun (FPSC stock guns)... The Halo raptor just gave me the IDEA for the project... I'm not mad, but really, come on! I only said it like 3 times (Once in this post and twice in other posts, which oddly got deleted, like some of my other posts)! Sorry for that ...

Then make one? Nobody is going to do it for you. Plus, this isn't your thread, so it's not likely that anyone will notice your desire. If your posts are getting deleted or locked then you should rethink what you're posting.
