I would like to know if you have problems with this and what you think of it.

Mission:
Collect missile parts and blast the enemy ship before it drains five power stations.

Droids:
Guard each missile part and will drain your health on contact, and they will make contact.

Enemy Ship

Extended Vision

Wow that's well good!

What's it made in? - If its DBP Dx9 then I want that water shader, it looks brilliant.

It was a bit hard to understand what was going on at first, because I'd run over to a part of the missile to pick it up and all of a sudden I'd die, but eventually I realised the bubble things moving towards me. (I didn't notice them at first because they just looked like bits of ambience or some effect that the gun I was shooting made.)

Thanks C0wbox.
Believe it or not that's Evolved's shader from the Ultimate pack. I added color with a textured plain, and a scrolling texture
for the wave on another.

There are a few extras in there as well. A tourist mode, extended vision and some caustics on the sea floor.

The Droids are a little hard to see at first, but the bubble texture is ok, I think.

There will be some screenies in the TGC Gallery as soon as they are approved.

Okay, but remember that you are generally expected to put screenies of it in your actual WIP post so people know if they want to download something or not.

That was a really nice game man, great work. I like your use of the water shader as well- I tend to get over-creative with that particular one

It was rather simple, though it has potential to become very fun. I would like to see this game expand to have a storyline and full game.

Great work,

Thanks, Xeno. I'd like to do more with it as well.

Zotoaster, I can never get an image to show on here. Maybe
I need another file host.

Thanks, DB newbie.
I have some there now, and the TGC Gallery has them up as well.

Quite cool. At first it is unclear what to do, and collisions with the droids don't seem to be happening, but i figured it out in the end. The ending is sweet. Pretty satisfying firing a superweapon at the "boss". Like Resident Evil.

On my comp, the ground is completely flat, and no sea is visible. Not surprised about the water, since it's a shader, and most shaders in DBP games don't work on my comp. Not sure why the ground would be flat though.

The framerate was low. I got 8 fps. When i complete the mission and it allows me to wander around, framerate goes up to 23!

Graphics look cool, nice sound. Controls were well documented and the help F1 thing was nice to see. Fast loading. Work out what's killing the framerate and why the ground isn't bumpy and i'll enjoy it more though.

Glad you liked it, Mr Tank.
I've seen that flat ground on an old computer I have. I think it's time you had an upgrade
Did the sky show or was it just a weird box?

Sky seems to look like it does in your pics.

I'm reluctant to upgrade because i want to make sure my games to run well on most people's computers. Since it's not easy to get a new computer to emulate an old one, i need to keep mine fairly crappy.

Perhaps once i've got a job i can get a whole new computer, and keep my current one for testing.

Thanks.
On my old computer the sky won't show and the ground is flat as well. Thats why I asked.
Its a good idea to get things to work with as many machines as possible.
I'm impressed you were able to complete the mission under difficult conditions. Says something about your persistance.

I like the look of it but unfortunately I can't play it as I have a French keyboard which uses "ZQSD" instead of "WASD" so when I try to go forwards extended vision turns on.

Looks pretty good, but it runs sorta slow. I noticed a big increase in speed after beating the level. Something must be looping too much in your AI code or something in the UFO. I dunno. Otherwise pretty cool I liked the caustics underwater.

Benjamin,
Here's a link to a modified version that should work with your keyboard. See if it'll work, if you want.

Agent Dink, you're the second person to say that, so guess I need to check it. Glad you like the caustics.

JerBil, thanks.

Anyway after playing it again I can say that it's a fun little game. My only criticism of it is the flash that's created when you fire. When you're firing for ages it can give you a bit of a headache. Apart from that it's cool, and I like the ethereal kind of style the graphics have.

Thanks, Benjamin.
I was afraid that flash might be a little much. Maybe it could be toned down or something.
