Uh, it was sort of made for me to use. I'll have to make tutorials first.

ReD_eYe, keeblerElf, Exeat:

All people are moving (walking) and wheels of some cars are also rolling.
If I hide all people I get 12 fps more. Also hiding cars gives 12..14 more and hiding all buildings gives about 15 more. Totally empty streets give 100..200 fps

LOD is powerful but then I must make tens of low poly models more.
And I should make demo... some day.
Here is aerial shot of city. There is about 80 buildings.

Recreating an 19th century Man-of-War battleship. Based on HMS Victory. This model is only designed to be seen from onboard the ship, hence why I have cut the bottom out in the first pic.

It rocks from side to side, the cannons fire and I have a bunch of crew who go around rearming the cannons and singing "Yo ho ho!" or whatever they said in those days.

Apologies if these are too large. I can't access my ftp at the mo to edit them down.

First I have to make all that city environment to act well, then I make demo and wait if someone can propose a suitable game to that environment.

Soyuz, thats very cool. Hope you make a game out of it. Nobody has yet produced a proper Hornblower / Patrick O'Brien esq game for a computer. I've always thought thats a shame.

Anyway, please pass me the rum...

@ Juso

How about a midtown madness style game where you race around the city getting to all the checkpoints before the other cars.

Hm.. Midtown Madness already exists (and car collision physics is difficult), so this game must be something very else. Something to do with those people wondering on streets

Soyuz > if you want a moving water texture, then use this http://www.lysator.liu.se/~kand/caustics/ - it's quite impressive. The colouring of the textures is a little wrong, but the animation is perfect...

Now that you mention it keeblerElf i am making a sniper game, well it's not gonna be a full game just a one level demo.

I'm making it just to practice my skills for a bigger project i'm planning on making!

Shizzle -> nice site, looks really useful. I guess in this instance the ships will be sailing across the open seas, so a glittering caustic effect as you'd normally see in a pool may not look quite right.

Here's some pics from my racing game in developement-

The last pic is in game, there are about 20 cars in total (though there are always on screen). It runs at about 75 fps on my computer. Cars tilt to the ground, there is basic car physics. And basically its a race between four cars through checkpoints.

dryll, the skybox is bothering me on the flashpoint styel screenshots. It might just be the clouds though.

Anyway, it looks like a top db(or dbp) game.

The compliments are due to Kevin Bolt (soyuz) for the tank - he's a top quality modeller and i'm glad to have him on the team.

There is no skybox.

The sky is comprised of a bi-layered blend giving the clouds a polymorphic look as they move across the sky.
