since the poly count i cannot ceate my original plan which was a full women hanging in mid air then the mech type oraganic skelton attached to the top part of her spine(am still goin make that but not for this comp) so instead ive done this,

thats not the chest m using its just a stand in while i am making it

A blind man once asked me to describe a color, I simlpy replied, you cannot describe a color, only feel it. The blind man became frustrated and angry so i camly said, that was red-Conor Bell

Wow that has to be the most innovative misspell ever

SECOND EDIT:

Okay I'm in the process of rigging the character right now (Didn't feel like actually texturing any more today ) and yeah, first time ever rigging anything so it's quite a new experience for me, luckily I have a lot of tutorials on the subject so I should be fine

Why did you have to double post? Could've just edited the last one. Oh and no, it doesn't have to be fpsc ready.

update
just tried to uvw map for the first time in 3ds, its so esay once you know what everhing is

changed the desgin to suit the poly count,(and the fact i couldent model her bloody chest) i might just be able to animate the movement because at the moment the legs look funny in neutral.

http://www.waylon-art.com/uvw_tutorial/uvwtut_01.html

theres the link for the uvw mapping tuts if anyones intrested, very clean and detailed description of what each tool does cleared up all my queries, enjoy!

And what do you mean your work? I'm more of a scenery guy. I have made numerous characters before but never finished the Texturing stages.

You havent caught me thats my model i did frm startch. Look at the model tehre diffrent. The toes the head the chest the legs teh arm. The only thing that looks same is the hands. We probably just used the same blue print. To evrey one concerned this is not the truth. I made it from scratch.

Edit: I have proof!. When i get home and get the chance i will post an image of the wire frame. Compare the two there completly difrent when tehre in wireframe.

Methinks we are getting a bit too accusatory guys, humanified animals are a fairly common style, I'm not surprised that Neo had the same idea as Morrowwind.

I think if Dark Donkey says he made it then we'll have to believe him.
[Edit]
The proof will have to do, it's more or less impossible to prove that he didn't make it as anyone could have just moved the vertices around to make it look different.

Here is my WIP ^^.

And yes, it's a spray can with a sight xD.

The model from Turbosquid looks the same. And also, its free, so you can easily download the model and show the wireframe. I'm not stupid.

You realize that most programs let you convert triangles to quads ><

Not necessarily saying I don't believe you, just saying that doesn't really hold up as evidence.

If I were you dark donkey I'd post the actual model file up for inspection, then everyone can satisfy their curiosity by comparing the two in their program of choice.

Okay heres the .x file. Plus please Deathead. Stop this. I didnt use that model. I am willing to do anyhing you wont to prove its not the same. I agree they look similar. But there are difrences. The head is fatter, the legs arewider(in the z axis). Plus if you look at my model the arm goes skinier in places. Heres a wireframe image

@Dark Donkey, I couldn't open your .x file. I looked at it in notepad and there was nothing in it, in wordpad there were a bunch of odd characters that shouldn't be there. I think your exporter failed a bit :p

From the Wings 3D front page:

Quote: "Export Formats

* Wavefront (OBJ)
* VRML (WRL)
* Renderware (RWX)
* FBX (on Windows and Mac OS X)

Although I believe there are plugins available to export .x

I've studied the wireframes from the two - any bits I've looked at appear to be the same geometry, except one is in tris and the other in quads.

Unless you can compare the images and find spots where the geometry doesn't match.

However Dark Donkey, I'm not going to corner you, point the finger and yell 'cheater', but I can't see any difference between the 2, everybody else please calm down and lets not boo or hiss about this, plagiarism is wrong and unfair of course, but lets not be quick on 'attack mode'. If you know what I'm saying.

But Dark Donkey, the evidence is strong and you can imagine how likely it is and I'm sure you know how nasty people can be about plagiarism, so I stepping in an giving you a get out of jail free card here in your defense, but I'll ask you the question: Did you model this? If the answer is no, then nobody should have any reason to bother you further (if they do, I'll kick them up the backside), after all you're human like the rest of us.

If it's not your model, you needed to fake it my amigo, the point of these competitions is to help improve your modelling skill and create something you'd be proud of, not to win, at least thats was the point when I originally ran these things. So to sound like a cliche, you'd be cheating yourself out of an opportunity.

If they are yours and somebody points out where the gemetry differs enough to confirm it's your model, then I'm sure people will be on their way (even if I have to kick them up the backside to shut their gobs)

You sir have the moral ambivalence of a mutated shrimp!

Amazing the resemblance.

DD's:

Mine:

Also an interesting piece of information, when I imported the model into Wings3d it was all quads. This is sad for me because I belived DD up until he posted his most recent pic. The things that through it off was the fact that he metioned every difference between his model and the TurboSquid one, the quailty of the props he has added to the model to make it seem different are much lower, and the fact that it was very easy for me to change the TurboSquid model to look almost exacty like his. Look at this piece of work from him.

Once again the same model. I'm sorry Dark Donkey but their is no reason for me to belive you

Moan the one of darkdonkey...

I do not like to see me surrounded in this type of discussions, but also I underwent an attack of deadhead, that I consider unjust and hurried, I hope that the forum does not follow in this line and all we help ourselves to progress in the development of modeled 3D...
