Quote: "1. I assume this will work with both X9 and X10 versions of FPSC?"
X9 only for the momment. I dont plan on making this X10 compatible, but for the "Migration version" where X9 and X10 are together, i WILL be making sure its compatible.
Quote: "2. Do I have to make the model in this software or is it not modeling software? The answer I'm hoping for is that I can make my models in BLENDER, and then load them into this program, and it will automatically ready that model for my FPSC game with texture map intact."
As long as the model will load in FPSC, it will load in FPSC Toolbox. Ive used blender before, and i know there were some complications with blender exporting compatible X files...of course that was a long time ago, so this may ave changed.
Quote: "3. Can this rescale my model once it's properly exported it? If I have a chair, can I easily rescale it with this so it is proportionate with the rest of the objects in the FPSC level?"
Of course! there is a scale text box where changing the sclae from "100" will update the model automatically, showing the actual scale of the model in FPSC. There is also a REALTIME option, that allows you to scale the model up and down with the arrow keys. I do think its worth mentioning however that if you have a complex model, its best to match the scale in your editing program, instead of scale it up in FPSC. the good thing for you though, is if you load your model in FPSC toolbox, and its too small or too big, if you scale it up/down in your program and reopen it, it will reflect the changes.
Quote: "4. If I want to sell my models in the store, will the folder this software creates be finished, and ready to submit to the store? If not what further steps would need to be done?"
I dont know what the requirements are for the store, but this exports directly into your FPSC file structure. If your models keep the same paths when others use them, there will not be a problem.
Quote: "5. Does the segment editor allow you to make custom-sized 'chunks' out of the segment for a doorway or a window? Or do I have to make some complicated 'stamp' in a modeling software, and then import in...and yadayadayada? I basically want to cut out a wall to create a custom-sized doorway."
You cannot do this within the editor, but unlike most segment makers out there, you can choose the MODEL file you wish to have for your wall. So you can go into the FPSC toolbox files, load the default wall segment into BLENDER, cut your hole out, and then load it as your wall in the segment editor.
Quote: "6. My email address is different that the one under my PayPal account. If I buy this, is there anyway you can send it to my current EMAIL and not the one issued for my PayPal account?"
The only way i can do this is if you add a note at the bottom of your purchase saying "Hey, can you email it here instead". That, or you can change your paypal email, its not that hard.
Quote: "Very interested in the character creation system as well as all these other tools. The character cs, will it allow monster/alien creation as well as the usual biped characters?"
The biped will be the main thing, if your character is exported with the default FPSC biped, then all of the animations are ready to export and don't need to be touched. There is a field for custom animations for custom characters, but your character MUST be set up correctly for FPSC, or it wont work right. The main thing is having the default bone where it should be so your character isn't half way thru the floor.
Quote: "Great product here BullShock.
It looks very handy having all of your editing needs in one place.
This will be a must have for every FPSC user.
No need to wish you luck because this is going to be a success without it.
I would offer you my ceSky code for free to modify for this, but I doubt that you used DarkBASIC Pro for this tool kit.
What lanuage did you use to program it?"
Thanks Conjured. Your one of the few people that go way back with me, and have seen how far my stuff has come. Since these are commercial apps, and they are going in my portfolio, i prefer to program everything myself, but thank you for offering! nd actually FPSC Toolbox and its counterparts
ARE written in darkbasic professional, its the best option since FPSC uses it for scaling and such, it ensures scales and rotation values are seamless between applications.
Skys are a great idea, and i think ill implement them into LVS. shouldnt be too hard.
@ nickydude,
I spend all that time on cool logos to make it look professional and it only figures i spell something wrong...Lol its funny but the owners of the original E.C.S. knew the problem was pretty bad...my spelling was HORRIBLE in that program hahaha
