I've been out of the scene for awhile now, but I wanna start using FPSC again. I was looking at some of the mods and I gotta say I'm lost. Plymod, Airmod, Fenix Mod, Project Blue... So many mods. What mods do you guys use right now? I probably left the scene around the time Butter Cutter and LyteFX first became available. Thanks for the help guys!

Fenix Mod is a great free tool

However, if you are willing to pay the extra 28$ for Project Blue, id consider it.

I'll take a shot at it;

Ply's mod was discontinued and is now part of Project Blue. Airmod has been integrated into both Project Blue and Fenix Mod. S4Mod has also been added into Project Blue. Fenix Mod has also integrated Horror Mod. Fenix Mod is free. Project Blue costs $28USD.

Both mods, at this time, are under the same developer (Hockeykid); who is also working on the FPSC Migration. Eventually, Fenix Mod will be integrated into Project Blue; essentially giving Project Blue owners control over Ply's Mod, Fenix Mod, Horror Mod, Airmod, Lemur, and S4Mod (might be forgetting one or two).

Two of Fenix Mod's biggest features are Dark AI and Bloom. Some of Project Blue's features include full screen shaders and custom FS shader support (motion blur, bloom, etc), scriptable weapons, duel weilding, and lemur (multiplayer additions).

Short version of what Kravenwolf said:

Fenix has everything you need.

PB has everything you want. (but is $28)

Those are the only 2 real mods on the market for X9. All others have been integrated on some level. And they are both being handled by our coding god, Hockeykid. (I'd have to say he's about one level down from Lee himself. )

One promising mod that is beginning to take a spotlight is RPG mod, which is supposed to add lots of storytelling/character building/Overall RPG-esque features to FPSC. That's being developed by F l a t l a n d e r and Blackfox.

There WAS Xara Mod...But it was discontinued as the creator was banned. He developed it from CorVus mod, the new name for Cranox mod. All he did was add some mew shaders, IMO.
