What I have done in a development...

First, you can make smaller versions of the icons and have them where you need to (top right corner, down the right side, etc). Second, you could have a "monitor" script that checks the variable(s) assigned to each enemy character. Each enemy "destroy" script would need to write a value to its assigned variable, and your monitor script would be checking the variables. When the value is zero, the icons show normal. When they reach a value of 1, the icons change to the icon with an X through it.

You have to remember the script that defines the huds controls the defined huds. If you define them in one script, a second script cannot change them, hide them, etc.

As an example. I have four characters. Each character has its own destroy script. In each destroy script is the following:

Each enemy destroy script is alike except the variable names (enemyQ, enemyR, enemyS, enemyT). When each one is destroyed, the assigned variable for each is set to a value of 1.

My monitor script sits in a trigger zone and monitors the variables. When a change happens, it changes my hud(s) when needed. Variables would be the easiest, as you only need 0 or 1 (0=alive;1=dead).

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

Sorry my question...really I'm not a programmer and I'm giving my best...Thank you for your help.
Look maybe this image is far better than my english... I have groups with the same character...
And how can I have the script to triggerzone that monitor the variables?

LOL nice image

What I meant was a trigger zone (purple)- only one is needed. It is placed in the level and has the following functions:

1. defines the icon huds for the characters
2. defines the variables to watch via "dimvar=x"
3. starts the main part of the script; runs and checks each defined variable
4. if a variable value changes, this script will change the icon hud and place the icon hud with an X in it, or you can leave the main image and have a red X image go overtop the icon.

Each enemy you have will have its destroy script altered like the example I listed in my previous post. As they die, the variable value changes and then the trigger script will get the change and place the red X according.

The short of it- just create destroy scripts for each enemy defining their variable. Create one main script for a trigger that will display the icon images, monitor the variables, and place a red X overtop when required. It is complex, but it has been done. I do a similar thing with automated scroll maps. To make it effective, you really need to understand how to use, call, and monitor variables.

We are not teens. We're one of the few husband/wife developers here on the forum, and have been doing this for quite some time.

We have a couple of developments going in Unity. We're not experts, but do know it well enough to use.

Our daughter has an account with Apple. And no, we do not live in England, although I would like to take time to visit. My wife says she plans to take me there one day (when we retire). She has been there; I have not.

0Alemar0, It's good to know that you've made a progressive recovery! Welcome back.

This is looking really awesome. The art style is quite original. Looking forward to seeing more and trying this out.

Well, when you do decide to visit, let me know. I live in England. I could show you around!

@0Alemar0

This is turning out great! I have been watching this thread for some time now. Glad you are back on your feet and back developing this.
