Sorry to ask again but where can I download the agk player from for my amazon kindle fire?
I have tried google play and it states I don't have a device.
I have tried androidpit and not been able to get the app there.

Anyone help this 67 year old developer/player out?

I have a Kindle Fire and have the player working great. I downloaded the player from my Game Creators account. You do however have to go into the settings of the device and find the setting that allows the use of apps not from the kindle store. I can't remember exactly where I found it on the device, but it was no too hard to find.

On a regular Andorid device you must activate: Settings - Applications - Unknown Sources

Remember that you must manually install it once you have downloaded it. On my phone it's in the folder called download.

Ok: Enabled apps from other sources in settings, device.
Download from my_products completed ok
I could not find an install apps option but assumed that if I selected the file it would install.
I got 'cannot open file' message.

You downloaded the apk right? I would try downloading again using wifi. Might have been a bad download.

Do you have the latest OS installed? AppGameKit requires Android 2.3 or better. I don't own a Kindle so I'm afraid I don't have any more advice for you.

My Kindle Fire HD 7" is sort of Android 4.0.3 (that is what it is based on) and I am able to run a Player that I built and installed via Eclipse.

But I tried downloading and installing the one from the 'My Products' page. When I clicked on the Player to download, it popped up a message saying that it would put the file in the Downloads and, I suppose, that is where I was supposed to install it from. Then I found the file there and clicked on it and got the same "Cannot open file" message.

I could not find any settings to change what could and could not be installed.

Then I repeated the process on my Nexus 7. The download did not automatically install it, I had to go to my Downloads directory and click on it. And it installed fine.

So, I don't know if it is a settings issue in Kindle or the apk is just not compatible.

Cheers,

Perhaps the Kindle Fire does not allow the installation of APKs that were downloaded with the browser, sort of like Windows tagging every downloaded exe with a warning when you run them. An alternative method might be to download it on a PC and then connect the Kindle Fire to the PC to transfer it over USB?

@Paul - might make sense to just get it quickly published onto the Amazon store?
