Nice McHaggis.

I like ur level editor, especially the scrolling

You might want to get started on other stuff since we only got a month to finish.

Anyway, my Lode Runner is almost done!
I am just fixing my AI right now...

cheers.

Ahhh! I didn't even know I'd put a link to my level editor on my site, Oh well lol! I have got started on other stuff on my puzzle bobble game, the text messages now work (ready, continue? etc) and the balls turn grey when they get below a line. I think I can finish it before the deadline, its just I've been busy over the half term and I've had coursework to do (got my Yr10 GCSE's around the same time as the deadline so Im not completely sure Im gonna finish it).

All I've really got to do now is give the game some structure, like levels, make some effects and possibly do a little character like in the original. I'm hoping to get 2 player down but I might not have time, and I definately wont have time to do Player vs. Computer (AI and crap). If I enter it into the comp then I will probably improve it and post it here again.

I just Updated my site with a new Pic and I hope to add pics for the next 7 levels by next weekend, things are going well and although you can't see too much, I have music in there with sound to follow tomorrow, just need to add scores and the little things then and then it's down to recreating the rest of the levels which should be an easyish task..

Yeah, you'd better hurry up too Dan. I have serious doubts that I am going to finish my game now, I have 3 pieces of coursework to do and my exams are ON the deadline for the comp (4th April). Just bad timing I guess.

Well I don't got no exams do do but I do got a broken wrist which is slowing me down, in the end, I guess exams would have to take precedence over coding.. what a drag!! hey if you'r doing comp science can't you make it the same thing??

Unfortunately there isn't a GCSE in computer science (not through my school anyways), I'm sitting here at the moment re-doing my english coursework (I got a D+ for it the first time) - v..e..r..y slow..l..y. I just keep getting distracted (thats one dis-advantage of broadband). Oh well, I'd better get on with it.

Darthster: The real Battlezone was true 3d. It used matrices and everything.

Nice! I like it a lot. I have a suggestion though, instead of using wireframe which shows the outlines of all the triangles, use a wireframe texture and ghost the object and turn on it's cull flag. That way you'll just see the outlines of the shapes like real Battlezone and your tanks won't look so messy.

The original battlezone used some 3d maths, but not all the rotation matrices. You could only ever rotate around the y axis, and all the tank movement was along the xz plane. It depends what you define as 'real 3D'

I'll try that wireframe texturing, see how well it works.

I have a lot of coursework and other things (driving, black belt) on at the moment, so this may not get finished, or if it is it won't be very good.

Man G'n'G was my all time favorite arcade game when I was a kid, I ended up having to sell my speccy to pay my mum back what I could of all the change I stole from her handbag.. Bitch coulda just told me she was counting but wanted to teach me a lesson...

It's the game I wanted to do but then I broke my wrist and felt I couldn't do it justice, so much do I feel for that game... Have you modeled the end level bosses yet?? And will you be doing all the levels or just the first??

Sheesh, I finally get a chance to make a post here and tell people the status of my game. I am taking 18 course hours and do not have much time to program. Heh, when I first started to make my matrices, I used MatEdit, only to find out that the matrices would not load in DBPro! So, I jest cursed my unlucky stars and started to build them the 'hard' way:

1. Got out that good old graph paper and made
a 'graphical' representation of each matrix,

2. Translated the graph to code on paper,

3. Finally typed the whole bleeding mess into the computer.

Any who, does anyone know how to make curved collision? I thought it was a simple problem, and sought out to get it fixed, but it jest gets buggy, and the object I am using gets stuck in the whole works.

I know you all have waited to find out the title of my game, and here it is (I was a little reluctant to post the name of the game I was remaking because of the fear of someone remaking the same game, but I figured that no game will be exactly like mine )

True Game Title: RC Pro-AM II
Remake Game Title: RF (Radio Frequency) Racing
65% Finished

I will post pics and features later, once I figure out this curve collision thing.

Commando. In 3D. I'm not sure if it will be finished in time yet, as it is going slowly at the moment trying to get it to look right.

Here's an entry that me and some friends have been working on. It's a remake of the classic Win 3.1 game Bang Bang. Have any of you heard of it? Here is a screenshot of the original game:

And here is a screenshot of our entry:

Nice shots dragon, but I'd suggest to remove the text behind the buttons, cause they make it a bit busy and hard to read

I dont think he needs to... this is just a still image, recon it would look fine if not better when plating. Might be worth having more imaginitive levels for example hills or maybe obstacles that fly by and get in the way of your shots. I dunno use ur imagination.

My retro entry got canned today. I will release the source code so far on the Beta board at a later date. I have been extremely busy with 3 major aspects of coursework lately and my other online project didn't beta test too well (compatibility problems) - so congrats to those who are entering - you have one less to worry about (SpaceROADS - Remake of SkyROADS)

I love seeing all the game ideas, and I can't wait to play them all!

My retro game is based on the old Exidy game TARG.

Don't know if I will finish it, not much time left, but I'm almost done.

I just added a Fireworks show if you make it through the last level-20.

It's only 2D, but I had a great (and HARD) time coding it.

Patch4 made my frame rate go from 66 to 532fps! - Nice job DBPro guys!

Due by April 4th.....back to coding!

Title: Galactic chaos
Based on: Asteroids
Status: finished!

It's a totally 3d remake of asteroids and it has 25 levels and a practice mode.
Also with lots of settings, because it's not very fast on DBCv1.13.

Good luck everyone!

My entry is called Eggdude: Butterfly Snatchers.

Its a remake of Kwik Snax on the C64. You have to collect butterflies and abvoid monsters.

http://www.geocities.com/maniacimagine/main.html

You can download it from here however there is 1 bug i need to fix (i forgot to make you die when the time runs out). I will fix it and then update it on the site. Ill prolly announce it as the FINAL VERSION in one of the forums.#

How come the game pauses when the music file restarts a loop? Can i avoid that somehow? Email me [href][email protected][/href] to reply to that.

I'm doing a Klax clone. I'm just getting started now so I'll need a lot of luck and caffeine to be able to finish something cool by the deadline.

SilkWorm was great. I finished it with a friend. We had to work as a team to be able to do that.
In fact, I thought about it when choosing which game I was gonna make.

Duck Hunter 3D is all but finished, the only problem now is that the compiled code does not do what the interpreted code does. Which is, as you can imagine, rather annoying. I'm using DBV1.13.
