Ehh... You can look up sky textures, then make a box, (or sphere).

If clueless's name is Mark Aaron Alsip ... I have about 75MB worth of them from him marked as free. If he doesn't mind, I can host them.

I have to admit I cheated. Search skybox at the bottom of this forum (I have no idea why it was posted in this forum) and it's like the 19th one down. I just scanned for cluelesses name.

[edit] Or you can go to the forums' main page and use the google search for free skybox clueless and it'll be the first thread.

Sorry chaps, but the zip files are gone, nothing to download.

I need to ask him a question anyway, so I'll mail him and find out what's happening

Are you sure? Or are we talking about the same thing here? Because I've just been on the website downloading skyboxes as a maniac.

But as I said, maybe we're not talking about the same website or something

There were some of them I couldn't download, but I could download the biggest part of them.

I tried a handful from Set 2, and they were all broken links. Maybe people could list the ones they can and can't download

1. You need Bryce
2. They take longer than 1 minute
3. Why reinvent the wheel, they are there for free download and use, including a suitable UV-mapped cube model?

I went to Series 5, Natural Skies, Desert 2.

[EDIT] That's it! The link is to the wrong domain, change it vaxwar.com and the rest of the path is fine

I had the link available on the Free Media thread all along.

No need for searches .... that was why I assembled the list.

Wow,

I had no idea these skyboxes were still being used. I started moving them from Alsip.net to my second web site, www.vaxwar.com, but was interrupted by work and family issues and have never had the time to do what I want with the web site.

I believe most of the content is downloadable (I tested a few and I see others have been downloading OK). I'm sorry the tutorials section was never finished.

Skyboxes in Bryce are not as simple as the one poster said. There are a few serious bugs and gotcha's in Bryce, and some simple but necessary things to do in DBPro before they show up right.

Anyway:

Hey, Clueless is back! Nice to see you again. Your skyboxes are referred to everywhere. I don't care whether they are just Bryce exports or not, they still save hours of messing around.

Hello Clueless.

Your sky boxes are great. The first one I wanted to donload was "Cold Blue" in Series 2. This happens to be the only one I can't download. When I try to download it, it downloads "Aunt Arctica."

Just wanted to warn you.

Hey BatVink and Daemon, thanks for the kind words. I hope to get back into gaming and content development when the weather gets cold again, and update the web site (skyboxes and all).

I moved from Bryce to MojoWorld Pro in December. Mojo is absolutely unbelievable. The high quality renders are as good as anything from the big game makers. Like Bryce though, there are some hoops to jump through to get the content into a game. I still like Bryce for skyboxes, but IMHO nothing comes close to Mojo for terrains.

Daemon, there's an error in the Cold Blue link. Sorry 'bout that. This will work:
