A link to the latest upgrade is now available. You can find this link by logging into the site and going to the Order History section.

One of the main changes relates to how triangle meshes are handled. This should resolve some problems where the position of the object does not correspond with the actual physics data.

Some other minor changes have been made and things for me to do include an adjustment to the collision system. Going to make the system of continually checking for collisions optional and add something where you can check specific objects. This should help to speed things up. Also got some new commands to add in which will help to get more control over certain sections.

This release hasn't been tested with everything yet. If you find any problems please post a report and include as much information as possible.

@ Mike: Thanks a lot for the BETA (even that should make some of us happy)!

I hope you can keep up your good work! (And give DP some "regular" updates, every 2 or 3 months would be nice, that way you get also more feedback about if things work right or not!)

Till the next Update!

Hi Mike,

First of all thanks for the new update. Unfortuntately, the following 2 bugs are still present:

1. Materials cannot be applied to Convex bodies

2. Objects cannot be moved prior setting them as static mesh, as they will not work

Hope you solve these problems!

P.s. any news on vehicles sliding?

Home computers are being called upon to perform many new functions, including the consumption of homework formerly eaten by the dog.

Hey mike, will you be adding commands for Deformable objects which Ageia have added to the Physics Runtime?

heres where I saw it:

@ DBking: I also was hoping this when I downloaded this Beta, but actually it seems like a "fix of worst problems" and without any of the new features (no softbodies (AGEIA-SDK-V-2.7); no deformable objects (SDK-V-2.6.2); no software fluids (SDK-V-2.6); I'm not 100% sure about this, but I tried to use the "fluids" without hardware and it didn't work)!

I hope he can add this, when he has less stress (seems like he has to do a lot of things actually)!

The old SDK is still being used. New features will be coming in soon once I complete the move to the latest SDK.

@ Mike: Hopefully within the next 2 or 3 months (an update within this time space during a year for a product seems to me a good support, even if this are "small" updates)!

Keep up the good work!

Since I dropped the update into the "Crogram FilesDark Basic SoftwareDark Basic Professionalplugins-licensed" folder I get the message
"Licensed Plugin is not recognised by compiler! Visit the Gamecreators.com for an update"

When I hit return it appears to run o.k.

I am never sure where to drop in some of these updates. My system probably needs scrubbibg because I now have 3 plugins-licensed folders. Does anyone know how to see where the compiler looks for the various folders.

Thanks in advance

Thats just because this is a beta, normally they install. You are putting it in the correct folder I believe. Do you have DBP 6.4?

How soon is soon?

I'm starting to lose hope, to be honest. I bought DBPro/DP for one purpose, which still hasn't been implemented (though it was in the PhysX SDK at the time). I sure wish there had been a LARGE posted notice at the time.

@ Redmotion: Do you mean the "AGEIA-SDK" or DP?

If you mean the Ageia-SDK: softbodies (AGEIA-SDK-V-2.7); deformable objects (SDK-V-2.6.2); software fluids (SDK-V-2.6); cloth-metal (SDK-V-2.6.2?) (some kind of bending and breaking for objects)!

If you mean DP: Well, only Mike can tell us what parts he wants, can, likes or have to include into the next Update!

I'd like to see more control over particles, since TGC dropped support for the cloth and particles pack. I'm worried future DBP updates won't be compatible, and DP seems like it has potential with it's particles. However it's very limited right now.

We need to be able to control things like particle rotations, easy to implement attractors and repellers, etc.

I have no signature...
