Alright, so I had a bit of a chat with S4real earlier today and we've decided that it may be a little unfair to everyone that cannot buy Project Blue is left in the dark about all of the great features. So, we came up with an idea.

I am here to introduce Project Green FE!!! (FE stands for "Free Expansion")

That's right, this Expansion will be entirely free to use, build games and all.

Now, those of you who have already purchased Project Blue are probably feeling a little let down and cheated, but you shouldn't. Project Green is a sub-product of Project Blue and not nearly as powerful.

So what's different? Well, for starters, Project Green will not contain everything that Project Blue does. In fact, Project Green is a couple of versions behind Project Blue, as well as missing a few features. Sad, but it is free after all, and you still get some of the power and performance of Project Blue.

Feature-list comparison:
Contains all of Project Blue v1.6 final
-except-:
- Dual-wielding
- Timer-based System
- Script commands;
----- SetHUDx
----- SetHUDy
----- ScaleHUDx
----- ScaleHUDy
----- PlrSpeed
----- PlrDmgMult
----- PlrAccMult
----- EntityDmgMult

What do these removed features mean? Well, they are the core commands for things such as my RPG "Level-up" system, fluid variable bars (for things such as health, exp, etc), and dynamic player/entity growth. No timer system also means that the game will not be as fluid as it can be. And no dual-wielding, I think, speaks for itself.

I think this is a great idea - and I'm a registered Project Blue user.

My advise is to make it easy for yourselves to maintain a new version. Not only a simple way to manage the code but also be aware that many new users can require loads of additional support.

Support might actually be the killer and you end up using all your time answering questions here. So make it easy to use and make it clear that feature requests aren't possible for this free version.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

Support for Project Green will most likely not be as expansive as it is for Project Blue. And, no, requests are absolutely not possible for this version. All requests are directed toward Project Blue first and foremost. This version is simply a watered down version of Project Blue for the masses.

Will this mod has ragdoll? And blooms?

haha, joke...

This is great for those who cant afford Project Blue (even if PB aint that expensive ) but still want its power.
But i think I will stick to Project Blue for th moment

As well you should! Project Blue will always be further along than Project Green. If it wasn't, then there'd be no reason to buy Project Blue.

UPDATE

Project Green should now be ready. However, to ensure everything is in it's right state. It's going to go through a quick beta testing phase.

Arenas: maybe you should ask in the PB thread

Lee is probably adding ragdoll to FPSC sooner or later so there is no real need for a mod to have this.

Do you have a comparison chart? I've been hearing good things about PB and might be tempted to purchase it.

Great idea Plystire and s4real. Many of us programmers tend to release a full version and a free version of our software. It's a good way to get people interested and if they like it then buy the full version. Certainly will be a benefit to those just starting out and want to get a feel of using a mod with some features, which will help users to see the potential that FPSC has.

If you do the other 5 basic colors, you can then call it Project Rainbow <kidding>

Great work. Keep it up.

Cheers

Thank you for all of the nice comments, sounds like everyone's in agreement here.

@Nickydude:

Great idea!
Shouldn't be too hard to whip one up. Once the features are set, and the release happens, I'll put one together and slap it in the first post for everyone to see.

@Nickydude:

Oh!! Well, for anyone else interested, I think a comparison would be helpful anyway. Don't you agree?

[EDIT]

Whoops, missed a couple!

Quote: "will this have the speed increases that project blue does?"

Yes, of course it will! Performance is absolutely the top priority of Project Blue and that will be passed down onto Project Green as well.

@Blackfox:

We'll consider a Project Rainbow if Lee ever releases the source to FPSC X10.

Project Green contains Project Blue v1.6, minus a few select features.
These features include: Dual-wielding, the timer-based system, and the HUD manipulation commands. That's it... everything else stayed in.

That means you still have all of AirMod v0.6 and its functionality (Ironsights, alternate firing mode, recoil, etc), you still have 180+ FPI command additions (Including our infamous variable system for easy numeric HUD creation, math, and variable recognition), and you still have all of the great performance boosts from Project Blue v1.6.

If you're still confused as to what's in the Mod, don't hesitate to grab the Free download and check out the manual, which has been redone by BlackFox for us! (Thanks very much, BlackFox!!! )

No problem Plystire. Thanks to Cathy (my wife) for linking and creating the Table of Contents for the manual. I could not get it done and she came in... click, click, click and it was done. She also made it so if you need to add to the manual, then all that needs to be done is update the TOC.

We're happy to help out anytime

Cheers

Whoa, you're right, Bigsnake! I forgot to put the syncrate back to normal before the final compile.

I'm putting it back now and will reupload. Sorry for the inconvenience, everyone.

[EDIT]
Sync rate has been returned to normal running speed. New download attached, first post will be updated shortly.

Thanks for the mod.-#
I thought it would hardly have anything new, hence my post that said I thought not many people would use it8

@DestroyerHive:

Unless the second Mod is an external Mod (DLL driven and not a source change), you may only use one Mod at a time. However, it was to my understanding that Z-Mod was just going to use this as their main Mod.

@FPSCM&M:

Yes, I have not removed anything that is necessary for TPS to work. Just remember that TPS is not officially supported, just like vehicles.
