i agree with the segments not being exported correctly....

it happened to me with a few custom segments i created, butit seems there are only certain segments that have problems.

im going to recreate some of the problem segments with the segment editor, and see if the problem persists...

This has been mentioned before, but it seems most people have forgotten about this error. Scorch decals that go on walls after a flak explosion almost never work now. If they do appear (which is rarely) they appear in the wrong places.

I'm sure many people can confirm this?

Meh.Maybe my computer isent that good but i dont think so.
I placed 8-10 Aiko's in a 20X20 room with closed roof. They did all attack but the FR was 8 :S.

I did the same but then with Fat zombies. The frame rate was good but only 2 attacked at a time.

Any help on this maybe?

....Whatever.....

Thanks for the bug report Komet, I was about to download... Now I'll wait for a fix or just keep what I have. The only thing I don't like about V104 is the color problem and the fact I have to shoot windows to break them anymore. Everything else is great!

Lee,
I've notice a little problem with V105, but I don't know if it's something I've done wrong in the past when exporting my models out of Max or if it's V105 itself but its never happened in V104 or V1, The problem is that all of my character models have a bone (cube) on the ouside of there bodies but it only happens when full shaders are turned off, heres a screenie,

For me It worked great, I placed 16 war officers in a 5X4 room and I got 32-33 fps all the time. This update is amazing.

I just ran one of my levels with the new update and I got shadows under all of my overlays (like a shadowed 512 x 512 square). I don't have a screen because I don't feel like reinstalling it right now, but I'll post one soon.

Inspire - you have to turn on full lightmapping to fix that, as on soft lightmapping alpha values are not taken into account.

When I tried the update I got white squares under all the AIs.

When I built the game and tried to run it, all I got was the menu background and no buttons on the game menu.

My PC Specs:
XP Pro SP2 (with all the updates)
AMD Sempron 2600 1.60 GHz
768 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000

I understand that this the beta period for this version.

This is simply what happened when I use the patch.

Chupa, instead of hiding all the bones via the physique modifier, select all the bones including that com and right click and "hide selected". They appear to be 2 totally different ways to "hide" things as hiding through the modifier and then hitting "h" to bring up the selection menu will still note "com1" as being selectable. It isn't when you hide via the right click method. Export this and see if that helps.

Just an idea

Hey guys! Lee is adding a new feature to 1.05 - my shotgun code. I mentioned it with a fix I though should work for the flak scorch problem, and he said if I sent him the code he'd get it in 1.05. So I did. If you guys remember my thread, I had a video of it in action. Basicly if you fire 4 shots, you reload 4 shots. Fire 8, reload eight. It works with any amount of ammo (above 0 of course) and uses the reload start, reload loop, and reload end animations. Should make those who want pump shotguns' life alot easier

BTW, it shouldn't add any bugs unless they have to do with itself, though in order to keep it working right full weapons can't reload, only ones that have 1 or more rounds shot (which is like most games anyways)

Actaully I get this problem some times when it goes to save a level. It'll start to save then act like it's finished, but just sits there.

I don't know about Bloodeath's problem but pkburr02, I've had that one, rarely, but I just exit (use Control->Alt->Delete, make sure to go to process tab and end anything that has to do with FPSC or it may not work next time you run it without restarting) and load it up again, as it still saves it.

It's the FPSC-MapEditor.exe that keeps crashing I'm sure, becuase if you just shut down the program you'll see the editor is still running the the background. And if you reboot windows it will tell you that it's not responding. But like you said Airslide, just shutting it down in the Task Manager does seem to work, however I've also found that after it happens if I don't reboot I have a better chance of it happening more frequently.

@ Airslide:
Excellent news about the shotgun code, this will come in very valuable for the scoped weapons in our gun pack.

Well, I provided him a before/after tutorial type thing for it, I'm not even sure if empty provided his source. And if he did, it would take hours or more for Lee to figure out everything he changed.

@AE - Yes, it should help alot, and I'll make my reloading animations so it will work with it. Though we'll wait and make sure it gets in first Too bad MP6 already uses an animation loading each bullet, I don't think this mod would work with it.

empty said he sent lee the source, but your right, hed need to provide a step by step process, to copy and paste code to certain parts of existing code.

an di dont know how well line numbers will work, since we dont have lees existing source.

I just installed this and it is great so far, but i have a problem. I was building my game, everything worked fine so far, it got to "inserting bla bla in executable file" and then this happened (check screen). It's been like this for a long time so i guess i gotta ctrl-alt-del it. The game is somewhat built i guess, when i try to play it it goes nicely but i have a problem. I have rolfy's spiders in my game, and only the small spiders can be seen in-game(only they are working propperely). The medium and big spiders are there, but they are invisible, i can only see their shadow underneath, they can move and attack me. Need some help please

From my experience, that's not a problem with the update, but with the spiders themselves.

Does anybody have this problem? When using a switch, the texture becomes all dark when it switches texture, and doesn't go back to normal when you use it again to turn the texture back. You have to have a light near it. For all I know, this might happen to any immobile dynamic entities that switch textures. It's like the lightmap or whatever just dissappears and just uses the regular level ambience.

Also Lee, I had some severe lightmapping errors in 1.05 when I set the lightmap quality back to 50. With the quality at 50, I didn't have this problem in 1.04.

I aplogise fr tge Abve. I mite hav mshpeled a cuple tings.

Lee is there anything you may be able to do about the 'fisheye' focal that the camera seems to have. I had brought this up back in December in the suggestions forum and had never heard anything.

Recently another member brought this up in the Chat forum.

I realize the view may not be that important with all the other bugs, as this cause no real problems other then looking goofy as items to your left and right stretch by you as you pass.

It would be nice to hear that your aware, and when the opportunity presents it self you'd take a look at it.

Thank you for reading

I wouldn't have thought the default player cam would be a very difficult thing to play around with as Dark Basic Pro has specific commands for dealing with this:

CAMERA POSITION: to retrieve the camera's current position
CAMERA ANGLE: to retrieve the camera's angle of rotation about a specific axis
SET CAMERA VIEW: to set how much of the screen the camera's picture occupies
SET CAMERA ASPECT: to set the aspect ratio of the camera's picture
SET CAMERA FOV: to set the camera's field of view. This is equivalent to using a zoom lens on a standard camera
SET CAMERA RANGE: to set the nearest and furthest point visible to the camera

Until an updated version of the FPSC source code is released I'm not going to play with this though.

I really haven't noticed this "fisheye"-camera effect. I just tested some of my maps, setting different kind of objects to test this, but I really couldn't see any problems.

It could be that some people are using wide-screen monitors or widescreen-resolutions, which would cause the image to be stretched. Some monitors and TVs only stretch the image's corners, not the whole image

Is it possible to take a screenshot of this "fisheye" effect? I'd like to see it

If I'm not mistaken, that's a common problem that occurs when your DirectX runtime is out of date for FPSC. Try downloading the most recent version, and it might work again.

Could you try adding in the settargetname command into V1.05 Lee? Aside for loading times, the occasional glitches and no real allies I think FPSC is pretty darn good. RC2 fixes the first two but I think allies could really help improve games.

On everything I build with v1.05 RC1 and RC2, I'm getting wierd lightmapper errors (see below).

But,

Good News: I put 5 guys in a room and I they all were shooting at me.

Bad News: My framerate was horrible, but maybe it's just my computer.

I have on suggestion for this update. Can we have a bunch of global variables? Like with empty's update, there would be var1, var2, etc.
