@Stoopid-Im glad you can come away from this with some advice to help you, but I'm not the only judge...as far as i know so my word isnt final on placeing.

@ASTEK- No prob,LOL thats why I judge the game before knowing who did it.That way you get an honest response.
Quote: "Also I had a custom menu BUT FPSC substituted it in the build. It did it on its own because I triple checked everything before I built. Just tough luck."

That's why I urge anybody entering a contest to check the compiled game, then download your own uploaded file and install it to see if something was screwed up in the uploading. Some file holders do screw up .exe files. It's been done to myself.
and you didn't get showed down you just lost major points in certain catagories. I mean c'mon you were the only one to score 10/10 in originality, that's my hardest judged catagory. I just wish I knew how yours ended.

Oh come on, this contest ended a while ago. Why is it still stickied? I think the Phoenix MiniGame Contest should be put here, and this one done, after all, it is september.

It's not up to you what should and shouldn't be stickied... and seeing as all the results haven't been released yet, this technically isn't over...

That doesn't matter crispex, the mods will do it when they get around to it. Don't be so impatient.

EDIT: Oopsie, I took too long.

I think I remember seeing a mod write once that they can't sticky things sponsored by third party products... so they may not be able to sticky the Phoenix comp anyway... But that may have been in another forum, not sure...

I think I said that in reference to someone asking me to sticky my WWII Pack...which I wouldn't do. I've been known to give temporary stickies out before though.

Open up the videobank and watch the ending credits. It will tell you.
And so you're saying I would have had it if it wasn't for the "no key thing" and then the screwed up hitbox? Well shoot... things happen though. I was suspecting chaos to break loose in the process.

Quote: "is that insult? or a complement?"

Somewhat inbetween. Neither really... just a statement.

man crispex, do you do anything but complain? A good friend from this forum asked me one time "why is everybody so down on crispex?"
I said "I don't know", then I checked your last few post(at that time) and man they were nothing but complaining anti constructive dribble. Then I told my friend "there is your answer. If your going to post stuff like that then you HAVE to expect others to respond the way they do." Perhaps you should learn a bit more tact and forum ediquette. I've nothing against you personally, I'm just posting what I see and giving you some sage advice.
@ AZTEK- your sig reminds me of the zombie babies from "Pirate Babys Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 " A machinema that looks like it could have been a real game.
Now back to relavant contest discussion please.

I sent my results to Silent Thunder. I'd give you specific scoring, but for four entries I didn't feel like tallying it up. Basic outline though (mostly constructive crit):

Specimen508 - No Ending? And the collision for the zombies was off. Overall pretty good, I liked the mix of custom content and stock stuff.

Gorak (I think that's the right title - lol) - Nice custom media (in a cartoony way). Animations for some characters seemed a bit messed up, and the animation for the rifle seemed a little un-professional. Overall though, I thought this one was pretty good. One of the major downfalls, however, was that everything seemed very repetitive and lacked any vertical change in the level (felt like Wolfenstein 3D)

Zombified - Didn't get the model pack 9/10 textures on your build, but I put them in myself just cause I hate playing with snow-white hands. I'm assuming shaders were on, which, surprisingly, seemed to have no real performance issues (I never really tried shaders on FPSC after I upgraded my vid board). Either way the lighting seemed fairly good. It was easy to tell they were dynamic though, which was kind of annoying (flickered on/off depending on distance).

KillerOps - Very short. It seemed silly that the loading screen explained pretty much what was going to happen during the level, except for killing the random people which I assumed you wouldn't. Some grammatical and spelling mistakes on the loading screen too. This one just seemed a little off as a whole, it needed to be longer and make more logical sense.

Anyways, congrats all. We'll see who won soon, hopefully

LOL!That is just too sweet.

@Crispex,
Are you whining again? You know it's an issue when forum members start telling you about it.I have had to moderate one person this week for refusing to use forum ettiquette. Please don't make it two.
I like just hanging out and drinking coffee and I don't want to be a/an/the [insert your own insult here (AUP friendly...of course)]
that has to punish people. We can all get along here.
I am not going to get into a discourse about what does or does not get stickied as the FPSC forum mods as a whole make decisions about what is best for TGC and its forum members and that has to come before anything else.We only have your best interests at heart.
@Disturbing,
Are you ready for the next competition or did you retire?

I only got results form some of the judges, so I guess I'll just go with what they said.

This is gonna be tricky because only one judge used a point system...

Yeah... I did but that doesn't make me not want the other prizes.
And also I only received Vinshu which is useless right now for I have no game yet to package. Still waiting on Cheese Cake.
If your reading this Cheese Cake, I ment nothing by it. It was just a statement.

Technically Specimen 508 was a game BUT I'm not going to package that now that it is already released to the public unpackaged...

Stop this right now.I am sure that eventually you will all get your prizes.I see no reason for anybody to post in this thread unless it is a post saying the prizes have been given out. Then I'll lock this and we can move on to the next level design competiton if there is one.

Here's the deal.I have either ran, been involved with,or have closely watched this level design competition for over a year.
These people have not forgotten you guys and everyone will get their prizes. The nonsense needs to end.You are not hurrying anyone up.You are doing quite the opposite.Nobody's going to get in a hurry to do anything with that kind of attitude.
You will get prizes sooner or later. You have my personal guarentee. This competition has been run by forum members and most of the donations come from the forum members as well.
These people do these things for you out of the goodness of their hearts and for the good of the FPSC community. Now we need to show the same charitable spirit in return.
Now surely since you are a member fo these forums you have a game/game realted project you need to work on.
And,I have to point out...
NONE OF THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO RUN/DONATE TO THIS COMPETITION GET ANY KIND OF PAY WHATSOEVER.THEY VOLUNTEER.
Please try to remember things like this when you go to post.

Please have mercy and use the search function.
