Hooray, I'm a really good Brawlhalla player!

Also I'm gonna make a Vive game based on the magic in the Warcraft movie.

Also page.

Plus Obduction is INSANELY good. If you've ever played Myst or any of the Myst games and enjoyed them (I've played all of them, though I was fairly young so most with walkthroughs.... especially Riven which was ridiculously hard) you will love Obduction. It's extremely Myst-like in so many ways..... even going so far as to use live-action characters instead of rendered 3D!

That is all.

Buy DOOM, I ripped off a demon's leg and crushed his windpipe with it.

I might have been drinking last night, but new DOOM is so good, yes. I didn't like DOOM 3 so much, it tried to be a survival horror it felt, but new DOOM at least took good elements from it and the old one, yes. I am just in awe of how much I am enjoying new DOOM, because...it's, simply put "just a gory shooter game", yet, manages to just be a rollercoaster thrill ride of murder and destruction. I feel sorry for people on my Teamspeak server the night I got DOOM, because I am pretty sure I was cackling playing it. I have just got around to playing it with my soundbar turned all the way up, worth it, loving the sound track and that they've kept it in a NIN style, though not actually being my any NIN members.

My friend put it aptly, "We as a human race do not deserve DOOM"

Also, Sodom have a new album out, I did not know this until I found it on Spotify last night. Fellow thrashers on the forum, go listen to it. I am blasting it out full volume now and probably annoying the neighbours, but it's okay, they sometimes play Justin Beiber at 3am, so they earned it.

It was a good album, I think better than Epitome of Torture, their one previous, but I think I enjoyed it more when I was drunk last night, so maybe have a few beers first?

Also, I was listening to Napalm Death last night as well, and came to the realisation, what if Daleks formed a Thrash Metal band? You'd get this song:

Be careful. Over a long period of time like that, the friction between the jeans and the carpet could build quite a bit of heat energy, starting a fire.

So... You already have 1,675 views for your channel. Just a couple days ago it was 1,500. That's astounding. I guess being prolific is one way to get views. And, of course, having awesome content.

But I gotta say, Dark Java Dude 64's Top Ten YouTube Picks list has a new channel!

And xD, 6:00 to 11:59's soundtrack is pretty epic.

SPOTIFY!!!!
The most horribly executed program in the world has just gotten worse. Ever since the pile of junk auto-updated itself the other day, sitting idle, it consistently uses around 35% of my CPU (which is no slug) and constantly fluctuates, every couple of seconds, between using half a GB and a full GB of RAM. Who lets this stuff get pushed out to users?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!

Yeah, I been have performance issues with Spotify lately too, it used to be fine. I've also noticed my Chrome lately has gone the same way, so I've started using Firefox more...it used to be the other way round for me, hence I always swore by Chrome. That said my Chrome is possibly out of date.

But shame about Spotify, I've always liked the service, but it's performance of late is just bleh. There is the temptation to go back to Google Play.

Also, I've gone back to playing Final Fantasy XI, especially as my friend started playing it. I thought it might be amusing to do this:

To put the video into context:
I am playing a Monk with a Dark Knight subjob. In FFXI you can Major/Minor in the jobs you play and essentially combine them. Monk gets an ability called "Hundred Fists", which removes all delays between attacks. Dark Knight gets an ability called "Souleater", which takes 10% off of your own HP and adds it to each hit you make on the enemy. I decided to pit myself against Shinryu, a dragon god who lives on the moon, using these 2 skills and a healer NPC to keep me alive. I was expecting to die pretty quickly. To my credit, I survived the souleater and was killed by something else.

But I was amused by the concept and watching my HP just plummet, because it is a recipe for suicide. Also, sounds like there's clicks in the background, I must have left my mic on.

I used to use Last.fm a lot, it was how I used to discover bands back in the day. It's where I've heard some of the bands that are now some of my favourite bands of all time. Maybe I should check out how it is these days. That said, sounds like a shame they got rid of the radio service.

[edit]
I don't think I'll use it with ads though...I decide to "similar artists" to Therion, out of curiosity, first ad "leathel bizzle", I don't like ads on music apps that don't match the genre. I can imagine some old dear listening to Vera Lynn and similar artists on it and then "brand new Slayer album *heavy riffs* rawwwwrrr". I'd put up with ads if they were relevant.

I also learned today that Michael Starr/Ralph Saenz, lead singer of Steel Panther, has a PHD in English Literature and was an assistant professor for a brief period in his life. This took a while to compute for me.

Yeah, I found a lot of great music there. It can plug into spotify so that you can listen to last.fm-like stations just with spotify's streaming, so it's better than nothing.

Aye, didn't know it could plug into Spotify, might try it, see if I discover anything new I ain't heard before. I got used to hearing new stuff at festivals (like this year, Zombies Ate My Girlfriend), but it's a once a year affair XD

As documented, glBlitFramebuffer doesn't work if the buffers are a different size and have a different number of samples. Forcing anti-aliasing in the NVIDIA Control Panel gives the back buffer a different number of samples and breaks blitting to the back buffer with scaling. Seems rather pft of the driver to do that.

I still go to record stores (the few that exist any more) and will pick up things that look interesting, so that's how I usually find new stuff.

Lucky you! We no longer have a record store here in my town. Really sucks! Have to go to Ghent or other 'big' cities to find record stores. Also, due to online stores, many shops have closed. I usually play on my guitar to hear some new stuff ! Nah, just kidding! I usually search for new albums on the net, or read up on what's new in heavy metal magazines.

Speaking of new stuff: Metallica has been working on a new album. Listened to their new song a couple of days ago. Sounds pretty good, actually. Reminds me of their Kill 'em All period.

Alas, we do not have one of those anymore. Closest we've got is a HMV in Cambridge, which is 30 mins on the bus, but their metal selection is rather limited. MVC used to be better for it in our town, but been a loooong time since we have one of those. My manager used to own an independent record store and he's big into metal and apparently used to play and show a lot of it, but I think with online music services these things are becoming a thing of the past. I feel video game shops will be heading in the same direction, I try and use our local GAME once in a while, though problem with it is, mainly being a PC gamer and their PC selection being rather lacklustre, it's a lot more difficult and I rarely pick up PS4 games. But I do end up using it for inspiration and gifts for others.

Kill 'em All? That's surprising, I might take a listen. I was listening to their Ride the Lightning album earlier doing grocery shopping....obviously an appropriate soundtrack for such a task.

[edit]

Had a listen, definitely some old Metallica in there. If it's a good indicator of their new album, could be best thing since The Black Album, but then I didn't really like anything after The Black Album XD. I mean Death Magnetic was all right IMO, this song feels like its vocals could be on Death Magnetic, but the instrumentals like older Metallica. But I guess to be expected given I don't think James Hetfield still has the old vocals. I mean, he didn't when playing old stuff when I saw them live...oh heck...2006, I think I ought to try and catch them again. That was my first ever festival...I was near the front of that getting hit in the back with a mosh pit. In fairness, he did get close on some songs, as they did the entirety of the Master of Puppets album, so I am happy that it was that Metallica performance I got. They also played 0 songs from St Anger, even though it was their latest album at the time, which also made me happy...at least, I don't recall any, it was 10 years ago now...goodness.

I only just discovered that Sony had finally released a PC version of their Remote Play (as well as their Playstation Now service). Verdict? I can liberate a small country and goof-off on these forums at the same time.

http://i.imgur.com/h4Y2Ga2.png

The quality and performance so far hasn't been bad, but I have both my PC and PS4 plugged into the ethernet ports of my router, so I should have a solid connection really. I get a very solid frame rate, but the 720p max quality leaves more to be desired, considering my monitor is 1440p (though obviously PS4 will output 1080p max, so I don't get full use of my resolution on PS4 anyway), but such is the sacrifice of convenience and not really a sizeable one. Current other downside for me is that it's PC and Mac with no Linux version, I run Linux on my laptop and once in a while stream games through Steam, might be a cool option. But I don't use that laptop really for gaming, but would be a nice touch.

Big Windows 10 update, some interesting tidbits:

They've killed the wi-fi sense password sharing.

They've added a linux bash shell.

They've added more comprehensive linking between PC and mobile devices, particularly android.

They've added an option to lift the character limit on file paths.

more cortana junk.

enjoy!

Lol, hahahaaaaa! Nice find, sepp! I saw some vids of the guy alone playing ukelele covers of Slayer, but not yet as a duo.
This prooves that metalheads are intelligent! They are even capable of playing ukelele.

She's a pretty decent guitarist too. I am getting some Opeth and Devin Townsend vibes in the 2nd half too.

Oh awesome. Tim Owens gets around a lot. But then he's a decent vocalist.

I still need to see Dio Disciples, who he made a reappearance for at this year's Wacken. I missed them again this year, shame, because Wendy Dio was apparently in the crowd too, might have been able to high-five Dio's wife. I know hard with 1000's of people, but hey, I saw the guy who made the heavy metal documentary among Whitesnake's crowd.
