what FPSC version(s) did you use for testing?

you have to use v1.0/1.01, otherwise it won't work correctly

it depends on the version, yeah
i haven't tested it with v1.02/1.03

for me, it works with v1/1.01 and 1.04

(i don't have v1.07 installed - still waiting for the next good update after v1.04)

Remember what i said before:

Build with new, play with old
(Means: Build the game on a version like 1.04 and use the "old" (mod) exe for playing)

Alright, I did a fresh install of fpsc v1 and now it works(partially).First off, doors and windows DO work, but guns appear glitched when you walk, enemies too. You cant kill enemies, and when they shoot, their muzzle flash goes everywhere.

Your about to get pwned.

I want to hear how your app is compatible with anything past 1.1 since TGC has not released the source code for it.

i wouldn't call it 'compatible'
it seems to work with v1.04 games

but i haven't tested it completely

as i said before i found strange remarks in the v1.01 code



just a small passage... there is a lot more stuff like that

When i build a game in V1.00 with characters, windows, doors, guns e.c.t. it, when it loads the game, says
"Runtime error 7723 - effect already exists at line 11213"
However when i build a game in V1.00 that is just a room with some dynamic entities in, it plays perfectly.

did you build it with the Mod EXE or with the original one?

maybe it's not the mod's problem

i built it with the V1.00 fpsc-game.exe and then placed your mod in the folder, i ran it, clicked on new game and when it was nearly loaded, it crashed and showed that error.

Delete the effect "fastbone" in the effect bank and it will work.

Shader Effects deactivated?

That did it. Dose it not allow two types of shaders or something.
But I got simalar problems to fxgamer:
- 1 door worked fine but the other let me though once then dident let me back in.(automatic door)

- My gun fired but dident do any damage

- The enemys did harm me, but there muzzle flash was messed(I think)

- one window was just a hole in the wall (withgout the glass) and the other one worked.

Tested this out and it works pretty well but very buggy, the bloom on everything is a bit overkill and would be great if you could have it on the odd item.

V1.07 does not work at all and that prob because its a major update to the older versions.

IF you can get these things sorted it could be usefull.

I agree with s4real. I think this has a place as a limited effect (the bloom), but specular highlights are (*I think*) what you're really after and that's shader territory.

Of course, your ultimate goal is probably much deeper that what is seen here on the surface.

I applaud your hard work on this. I wish I could do what you have done with DBpro.

bloom is getting old (srry for all of you but its true)
hdr is horrible to try and emulate, so i really think that the people at TCG should get a new game engine, with 100% support for ALL fxs, so you can throw in a couple bloom, hdr, glow, and refract shaders... but as we know TCG is working on FPSCx10 which STILL DOES NOT WORK ON MY SYSTEM!!!! NO ONE IS REPLYING!!!! IS IT THE DEMO OR MY COMPUTER???

Well, just visit www.fpscreator.de, the efx Mod is ready (FPSC v1.0/1.01)

(Bloom actually not available, but a really nice water shader )

And a little video on YouTube is also being uploaded.

I got stuck because Lee didn't release the actual sourcecode. (Even now there's just the Lemur Sourcecode available - sorry - better v1.01 Sourcecode than that!)
