woo! I'm listed in the credits! *does a little dance* :p

One thing though - do you know how to do expansion packs in DarkBASIC? because it might be easier just to add those things in later and have the entire thing for download again instead of adding in code here and there in seperate files like with most expansions - not sure how you can do that in DarkBASIC. I think someone posted about it in the DBC forums a couple of weeks back... That might be worth searching for.

Think I'm going to stick your little picture thing in my signature as well...

EDIT: signature test thingy...

lol fair enough. So you basically replace the original game file then... It's probably the easiest way to do it.

Yea, don't worry I thought about it before I even posted the idea of expansion packs on here.

Most things like that would just have the previous expansion pack included.

Take Roller Coaster Tycoon as an example, its first expansion pack was Added Attractions, the second was Loopy Landscapes. The second included Added Attractions.

@C0wbox and blobby 101: The expansion pack will include a file called (serial code)_ep(#).blgame and if that file exists it will be like the sims method like the bar in pets, if you have the expansion pack installed (if the file exists) it will the button to use the expansion pack's features there.

i.e. (using house call)
12345abc123_ep1.blgame will be created.
Then the user installs another expansion pack (e.g. #2)
It will have an image bar with inactive images for using those expansion packs if the file doesn't exist, but if it does, the
image will become active and you can launch it.

Voila!

It's good to see you are finally sticking with one game and making some progress with it and that you are finally taking my (and others) advice by sticking with one game, taking it slow, and acting mature . Keep it up!

CGJ, I can see that progress is going... but you really don't need to bump your thread with replies to what other people said unless you've got an update for your game.

That last post was really rather unnecessary, unless you tied it with a new update.

Err, could we see it in another color too? I'm just curious, because we can't tell much from the screen unless we see that it does something.

That can be accomplished with a few lines of code and Psionic's dog model. Not worthy of a post or WIP in and of itself.

Come see the WIP!

I don't quite think thats fair. Now if you think you could do better then do. But Jordan was worked hard on this. And its using DBC and hes not the best at 3d stuff as he says. It looks alright though.

Everyone started with a few lines of code, and although this might not be impressive for some of the coders around here, it most likely is for Jordan. I think you should continue, Jordan, but don't post unless what you have to show feels like a mayor accomplishment to you.

i'm sorry, CGJ, but this thread is now making me want to skip it, and (for me) it's a shame. it's becoming more of a pseudo chat room that rarely has anything regarding the current state of Breeder's Life and it's progress, which DOES interest me, but the regular bumping only to find "nothing new" is reminiscent of "the little boy who cried wolf" (for lack of a better analogy). i'm actually starting to wonder if the project has become, simply, to see how many posts this thread can generate.

and, please, don't think i'm bashing you. i am interested in what you've started here and want to see it continue. it's a unique idea and i have enjoyed seeing your work on it thus far. my offering the few icons earlier on was meant to show my appreciation for what you're sharing, and to return a bit of the "community" you've offered to us. ie, a small "thank you" and "keep it up!" that might help with morale and energy up as you toil away.

alas, it feels as though it's gone off track, and i'd love to see it come back into focus. again, CGJ, i'm not bashing you so please don't take this post the wrong way. my intent is a "positive coaxing". if i "didn't care" or was angry, i wouldn't bother posting at all (just not my style to be negative here. what's the point?).

@CGJ: Please remove your full source and work on it. It would be so much more professional if you put remarks in there as i recently found. And space out the code so it easer for you to read like:

Rem deleting sprites
delete sprite
delete sprite

rem load images

I am trying to work on this as much as I can. There have been things holding me back but trust me, this project will not fall uncompleted.
