Great work on this pack Mark, and your Cyclops looks awesome.

I totally agree with you on this, I'm never satified with my animations, I keep thinking I could make a animation better also, But if you don't stop and settle on one of them your model will never get finished.

keep up the great work.

Thanks Locrian and Luke.

I think I will release some of the animations, along with a sample FPE and script - all in a nice little package. It would be pretty confusing to see how everything fits together otherwise. I don't think I'll be releasing all of them though, because of the fact that some of the rigs use constraints and dummy object that can't be fully represented in a .bip file.

If you've grown accustomed to seeing the Model Pack 4 melee, then you're in for a very pleasant surprise with this new pack. The melee that this pack uses is so much more refined - as you can see in the video. No longer will they stand in front of you doing nothing while you recieve sporadic damage from them. The attacking is totally reliable, plus the fact that it uses "hit frames" means you can run past the character without automatically receiving damage like they are toxic or something. It really does work great.

Quote: "I have a question about the dynamic gold & silver Anubis entities:

"What settings did you use, to get them to stand properly on the ground, next to the static figures, in the video?""

The dynamic versions of the statues, meaning the ones that "come alive" when you get close, are purposely setup to be a bit above the floor to avoid getting stuck in certain segments. But you can very easily change this by right clicking on the entity and using the PAGEUP/PAGEDOWN keys to position it exactly how you want it.

That is how I did it in the video. Thanks Seth.

Did you try using PAGEUP/PAGEDOWN in the editor to place it directly on the floor? It should really be just as simple as that. If you still have trouble though post a screenie.

Nah no last minute additions. But could you post a screenie? I'm interested to know what's going on though. Especially since I can't replicate it.

Wow, ok, I have not seen that at all...are you using v1.07? Also, what does it look like in the editor for you when you right click on him?

This is something I'd like to sort out really quick if it's going to be a problem for a lot of people.

EDIT:

Seth, I tried to replicate your map and he looks fine here, the dynamic one is in the middle flanked by two static decoys:

Anyway, I'll keep on eye on this to make sure no one else is having this problem. I haven't seen this problem so far on either of my 2 desktop pc's or my laptop.

Thanks Seth, that does look correct for the editor view, thanks for bearing with me. His default height is set at 10 in the fpe file. Now for me, no adjustment is necessary. He drops down into the correct position when I test the game.

One last thing to try, open his fpe file and change the "defaultheight" property to zero. Save, delete the bin and dbo files, and try again.

Thanks Seth, trying it right now. I'll edit when I'm done. Thanks for being patient.

EDIT:

I tried your map and it looks ok on my end here:

I guess I'll just sit tight for now and wait and see if others have this problem. I've tested it on both Nvidia and ATI machines. The only other thing I can think to say right now is the usual make sure you have the latest directx and video card drivers blah blah blah...

Look farther down under "identity details". The property called "defaultheight" is set at 10. Change this to zero and give it a try.

bond1,

Figured the mystery out. I had the Lemur mod installed.

When I reverted back to the original FPSC-Game.exe, Anubis was exactly where he needs to be.

Thanks,

Seth Black
