I second that. He signed up for the beta before he even owned FPSC. I'm sure there could be someone who knows what they are doing that can test the store and report bugs better than him. Sorry, flickenmaste.

I disagree guys - it's invaluable for us to get a good cross-section of people testing the store, both advanced and, well... not so advanced

I'm sorry I was just in a bad mood and felt like telling it like it is.

No disrespect to anyone, I'm sorry but I was so angry at something.

I think you should make the error box come up when you attempt to open the store not at the start of fpsc"

This is probably the auto updater trying to check for a new version, try disabling it in the help menu and see if that changes it. Otherwise it shouldn't try connecting to the internet until the store is opened.

Hi all, just one thing to note for all EU based users.

Game Creator Store is actually being run under a subsidary company called "The Game Creators Software Ltd". As this is a new company it has not yet reached the amount of turnover required to start charging VAT. When turnover in a company reaches £67,000 then VAT has to be charged to all EU customers.

So if you're an EU customer and want to avoid paying this 17.5% extra charge on all points then make sure you stock up on points before we have to trigger this tax.

Ok, I see. Rick emailed me about it. Now I have to ask my parents. Wish me luck guys. They hate video-games. Even though this is a much better way to get money than working at some grocery store.

Whats VAT? Sounds rather nasty. And it won't affect me cause I'm in North America, right?

I'm pretty darn sure that EU rules don't apply to USA... That's why Rick said:

Well I went to the states and I remember paying local and government taxes, it's the same sort of tax. VAT = Value Added Tax.

It depends on what state you are in. In Oregon, there are no sales taxes, so on any purchase, we don't pay extra. I don't have to worry about this then. California has one of the highest sales taxes in all of America at 8.25% (In 2005 when I left).

Ah, but our tax here in the CA is 5%. And You pretty much pay it for everything except stuff on the net. Such as Steam and TGC points.

Our taxes in the netherlands are 19% for every single thing you purchase in stores... So the 17.5%VAT isn't that bad.

VAT is added automatically here so you dont notice(its included in the price)

Quote: "So if you want to buy a candy bar for a dollar you have to pay $1:18!?! Horrible."

no the real price would be around say 70p due to VAT its taken up but then rounded off to about 90p (america is weird with prices like 56.48, 2.67 we just round it up)
1.18 is only about 60p anyway(bad american economy)

Holy cow. I whined about 7%... At least it's added, Australia did that right instead of trying to trick customers into thinking stuff is cheaper then it really is. I'm Canadian BTW, and our economy is doing great with the recent crash of the American one. One mans misfortune is another's luck I guess Round off! That's also awful. You could lose a whole dollar in a day! If a pence is like a tenth of a penny then I can understand. But pennies (to decimal points in our money) really add up.

Please note that I did not count any taxes for other stuff like Imported materials and Merchants taxes into that 19%... If anything we sell comes from a Different country, Expect a 30% Tax over it...

That horrible. I think I'll stick with my constant 5% and manually add it up at the store. 30%! What a steal for your government.

The store rocks! I've just downloaded a few items from the free section, and once my dad opens up a PayPal account soon, I'll be able to buy even more! Cheers, TGC, have one on me.

Hey guys I have a question about one of the items.

You know Steve-Pauls houses/church? Can you actually walk into the church or is it just for scenery?

I really need medievil/fantasy buildings you can walk into.

Hold on, no, do buy the carpet, it isnt just a floor. It is the raised/sloping/curved version of the stock carpet.

I bought Luke314pi's "stove_a" and it crashes FPSC. I really want to
use it and I was wondering if you could get this problem fixed so my
points don't go to a waste.

I had this problem too. Go into entitybank->purchased->luke314pi->blabalaba and find the entity. Open up the FPE (make sure the bin file is deleted) and change "stove.x" to "stove_a.x". A couple of his entities are like this. Should be a simple fix for him to re-upload to the TGC store

I bought that stove as well.Works like a charm for me.
As far as I know (this encompasses all the items I have bought and tested including the above stove) worked perfectly for me so far.
You might post your system specs and there is that neat FPSC dbo and bin cleaning app in the newer betas of FPSC.
If you run that between runs of FPSC (even if you don't test/build a game) you'll be amazed how much crap it will clean out.

For them moment it will be just for FPSC, but when they see it works stable they may make it aviable for FPSCX10 and maybe even DB.
