How...?

It's a post production shader though, so how did you do it? What folder did you put the .dll and .fx files in?

Oh man this looks very very nice indeed

I really like your level design and the way that you have modified some of the character textures.

However i would rather recommend you should use MP 9 & 10 cause the weapons look more "realistic" and are more detailed.

Great job

Word of advice for the future, basically FPSC-Game.exe is exactly the same as your games one in the built game, so it will work just as well in test game as in built game, that goes for everything except for postbuild mods, also I am running v1.07 also (with mod). Its cool because you can add this to any fpsc game.
Anyway, this thread is not about the shader, its about your wicked cool game.

Thanks, I`ll change it..

Here two screens with enhanced effects we are working on.

The first one shows a slight HDR with moderate refraction routines (not really visible, as no real refracting surface is in sight), volumetric fogging with Thyndal Effect around light sources and lit surfaces, enhanced shadows:

And here the second one, I like this one very much. It`s motion blur upon speed-moving (running and turning around with [shift] pressed.

However, Performance must be improved, as those effects get even my machine (AMD X2 4200+, 2 GIG RAM, GF 7900GS) to its limits.

Sweet screens, the bloom in the first one's a bit...extreme though. Perhaps try turning down the light range? It seems to saturated for me....

I really wanna play a demo of this, have you got an ETA on one?

If only you could render the hud images on only the render cam and not the bloom cam. The game is looking amazing, but I must say it's a little odd to have even the HUD and lives etc getting effected by the shaders.

Have considered NOT using a HUD in this game. If you're getting creative with the effects, why not get creative with the gameplay.

Health could be shown using a blur shader linked to player health? the lower the health the greater the blur? Or is it not possible to pass variables to the shader in FPSC?

Get well soon Ertlov

Lets get back on the subject of segment shaders.

Why don't segment shaders work properly?

Are you planning to release the working segment shader you have for normal maps?

In TGC's segment maker download there are some videos, 1 of which explains how to apply shaders to segment floor, walls and ceiling implying that its perfectly ok to use them.

The reality is quite different though and we're currently stuck with diffuse textures which can be made to look nice like yours Ertlov or faked with texture baking but its a real shame we can't do more with geometry effects and give our materials more realistic properties e.g. shiny, bumpy etc

@Ertlov, would you mind making a tutorial on how to get the ENB effect from GTA? I'm interested on messing with it, but after a couple Google searches, I couldn't find anything. Shoot me an email if you're up to it.

Well, it works pretty much like any Shader mod, you copy the files from the ENB mod into the directory where your game exe is.

Activation / Deactivation is by default [F12]

However, the trick is to adjust the settings in the ini file in order to get the best result for the game. While creator of zombies is rewriting the shaders themselves, I found it to be good enough when I adjsut the settings of the existing mod. It`s a lot to play around, and it depends heavily on your game, too, so I can`t give precise instructions on HOW you have to set the settings to make your game look hot.

Hey Ertlov great looking game

I have a really funny story for ya:

I live in South Africa, Johannesburg and we have this shopping centre with a flea market. In the middle of the flea market there was this illegal copied games shop (the police stopped the whole thing so its fine now) but when I was looking around at that shop (I dont buy copied games, I dont support piracy) well I was browsing there and picked up a game that looked awfully familiar.....there it was Anderson and The Legacy of Cthulhu staring right back at me. This shop usually puts like a collection of a few other games and yours was bundled with Call of Cthulhu .

Whoa!

Fluffy

You just wasted a few seconds of your life reading this signature!

It was (actually, still it is) officially sold almost all over the world and translated into 8 languages, but I know that it was copied / pirated even more. I`m not that upset, because we had five-digits sales figures, and the Productions costs were covered several times, but it`s quite strange that a game with such a "nerdy" setting is attractive to software pirates.

Woah, you mustn't of seen many zombie games made with fpsc... This is probably ONE of the best, but seriously, theres loads out there.

Thats a pretty good game; also, I think Eve of the Dead is quite a good Zombie game.

Anyhoo, this game does look good though, and it is definately on this list of 'Best zombie games' I seem to have put together...

Allright, I have only the first 9 months of distribution listed here, but in this period approx. 20% were sold via online distribution and 80% boxed.
From the boxed versions, about 25% were ordered via online stores like amazon and 75% bought in stores.

So 40% were sold online, either boxed or digital download, thats interesting, as from an indies perspective, they could get 40% of sales without a publisher. Or sign with a publisher for store sales, and keep the online distribution for ones self.

I wish I could find Legacy of Cthulhu in a store in Canada. For three months I was searching for it. I wanted a boxed copy, but I didn't want to have to order it online due to shipping costs.
