did you delete the "textured =" "texturen =" and "textures =" and apply the effect throughout the WHOLE script? also, you have to have two = after effect (e.g. effect0==effectbank\CoZ\relief_mapping)

ps i dont think you need the "\" eg effectbackCoZrelief_mapping, but i could be wrong hope this helped.

It was a bad upload; youtube doesn't like .avi files

It will be up when I get home from school; about 4:00 P.M Eastern Standard Time. It's not anything extraordinary; I just had fun throwing stuff around and found a barrel that blows up. I never knew about it before.

Sweet shaders! I managed to tweak the refraction shader into looking sweet a while back, I also worked out how to get the relief mapping shader to use normal maps as well...

How does this shader perform against others? Like with ten barrels or something on screen, how does the frame drop compare with other shaders like bumpcubereflectalpha?

As a first note, these shaders are altered and recompiled significantly differently to the ones from say the ultimate shader pack. My shaders have NO nagative effect for me on the FPS what so ever, regardless of how many items are on the screen, thanks to me slightly changing how the data is passed to the vertex shader via the TEXCORD commands. Sweet Huh!?

I've shamelessly harvested the last few pages lol. Lots of stuff here for me to use, thanks a million...

How could I possibly go about using this on custom (or alternative, such as sci-fi/ww2/modernday) type characters?

@All My video is up! Not the best quality in some places, but it's better than nothing.

@AaronG You need to make the appropriate maps. Normal, diffuse, specular, etc.

well... that video isn`t as beautifull as you say.

the shaders on the objects look not that good and on the segments i see no shader at all... sry but this is my opinion (but your shaders may be good in any other engine CoZ!)

@Dark Goblin: I agree with you actually, although I believe he hasnt applied any segement shaders anyway, and that he is only using one of my shaders, thus being the relief mapping one.

I did apply the segment shader, but my stupid FPSC was messing up when I tried to do it with the ones that you can actually tell. Also, I used the window shader and the weapon shader. Some of them might not be noticeable just because of PlayClaw's horrible quality.

@Crusader2: Yeah! Darn PlayClaw!

@All: RedEye Has Kindly created a Install File for all of my currently released shaders, so no need to scout through this thread anymore to find the shader you want. Simply run the install wizzard, and it shall install all of the shaders into your effectbank under the file: "CoZ Shader Pack"

Thanks Redeye!

OK, the window refraction shader is a bit wierd, I don't know if it is a mistake or a glitch or just simply my GPU (doubt it, an 8400GS 512MB with X10.1 lol). Screen is attached. The 3 blobs you see are always there and don't budge.

@First Company Veteran: Sorry Dude!, My bad...I forgot to include the fix. Replace all of the files in: Texturebank\Sci-Fi\Scenery\Windows\Win_b with these. Then use the Sci-Fi large window, and apply the refraction shader to the entity in the editor.

K, thanks CoZ just freaked me out when I saw that, looked like an old water shader I used to use where it showed the texture moving around lol.

I can create shaders in the DarkShader.
But shaders don't work in the fpc creator x9.
How to make shaders work in the fps creator?

@alexander russia: This is where Knowing the HLSL Coding language comes in handy. If the shaders don't work, you normaly need to alter the core shader code. Look up some tutorials on HLSL if your stuck, they where very helpful for me.

I have a problemo:

I affix the fixed bumpbone shader to a character with all the correct maps. He appears perfectly...when spawned at start. If I spawn him, oh, say half-way through a level, he will appear invisible.

@Pride: Yes that problem I have to, with all characters, it is probably a bug, if using a triggerzone, the char will appear invisable, but not with a fastbone shader, in your effectbank, try that, you wont get the nice shader effect from CoZ if you use fastbone shader, obviously,

@CoZ: Maybe that would be cool, just thinking loud, making a modification for the fastbone shader, as maybe more people have the same problem...maybe you could bring a more nicer looking fastbone shader, to life on earth lol... just a thought

@Red Eye & Pride: Hmm, I have yet to encounter this problem. I shall investigate it then report back to you. It's more likely a bug with FPSC because Violent Pigeon had this problem too, using stock FPSC shaders, not ones by me. On a side note, you can always use one of my many other character shaders I released.

@RedEye: Good idea, I shall start development right away

Oh, added you to MSN Pride
