I guess you're lucky. I'm a little young at the moment but last time I tried to date a hot girl it resulted in a large slap from my mom.
So I learned not to date again.

But N3wton is lucky. I guess.
Say, the last girl I attempted to date (before getting hurt by my mum) told me, that a girl would prefer you call her "beautiful" rather than "hot".

Try dating a less hot girl? Then you might not get a slap and then if you don't get a slap from her, go for a little bit hotter and keep going till you get a slap Pie charts etc would be a good way of showing us all your data Or.. You could go for brains rather than beauty?

Over 100 posts? Do you see the frenzy you've sent these guys into? Wanna know why there are so few girls on this forum? Because whenever a girl such as yourself shows up and introduces herself, adolescent geeks obsess over said girl and try claiming her as their own. Naturally, most of them fail spectacularly because of their failure to grasp the concept of being social, but the ones that survive the initial humiliation process become infatuated, which turns to obsession, which turns to IP tracking, kidnapping and- well, you know the rest. Hence, every girl on this forum ends up locked away in some 12-year-olds basement. So, I would like to personally apologise in advance for your inevitable capture and subsequent use as a coffee table by one of these seemingly innocent forumers. AdrianoJones Wannabe, I'm looking at you.

Trust me, I'm not a kidnapper. I'm afraid I'm not taking you seriously.
Which is cool, I'm not trying to claim her as mine... cool it buddy.
Of all the steps you've mentioned - obsession, IP tracking, kidnapping... and I think I know what you mean after that.
The problem is you're making assumptions of those people who go online looking for someone desparate. While I'm still young, and while my parents are still tracking me online, I am not that kinda guy.
The furthest I've ever done online so far... is probably flirt. I don't think I've done it on this forum but somewhere else.
Hopefully, she gets it. Which is cool.

I'm sorry to stop all the outpoorings of excited teenage love, but can we just wind it back a couple of posts and draw attention to the fact that:
dude got slapped by his mom for dating a hot girl.

I'd understand if it was like
"Mom I got....a hot girl pregnant"
or
"Mom I got....syphilis from a hot girl"
but
"Mom, I got a hot girl."

<WHAP>

I don't really understand that. Unless it was like your mom's best friend. Then it would be granted. But I can't really picture any other situation whereby your mom would hit you for meeting and dating a girl.

Would you care to elaborate on this baffling phenomenon?

I want robotic legs.

That doesn't follow, otherwise there would be loads of girls with just a few posts, and I'd see TGC forums on the news all the time. I think it's just because girls aren't really into games, even more so making them, and then hardly at all into programming. In general.
Though I have a few girls in the basement from when I was 12...

I say that's somewhat sexist. I know some girls that play games better than I do. Sure it's a fact into saying more guys play games than girls, but I wouldn't say it as a stereotype.

Don't worry, I won't. But watch your back. I almost got abducted in my first week, but then they found out I was straight.

Moving on, what's all this:

Now I'm not judging or anything, but could you not just go out with the girl anyway? What's your mum gonna do, put you on timeout? Unless you're like 12 or something, it's best to start dating sooner than later, otherwise you can end up missing out. I'm sure there are people who would disagree and I'm not exactly a guru of relationship advice, but no mother has the right to dictate their son's love life. That only works for father/daughter. Oh, and when I say "start dating sooner", I don't mean you shouldn't wait for the right girl. But if there's a girl you really like and you feel like you are ready to pursue a relationship, I say go for it.

Indeed, I do believe in that, I am a little young for relationships yet, of course I really liked that girl or there's no reason to date her (as I tend to be quite picky). But all is cool and it's not like we dislike eachother.

Hmm I had my first girlfriend when I was 5, second at 6 third at 11 fourth at 12 - I don't think a parent should stop their kids from going out with somebody, it can be perfectly innocent. I'd be more worried about teaching kids not to do the non-innocent stuff rather than forcing them against going out with somebody.

Seppuku. That's freakin hilarious. First girlfriend at 5?!?!?
What did you do? Cuddle in the sandpit? Get a joint mortgage on the playhouse?

I don't think you can have a real girl/boy friend until you are old enough for there to be a physical element to the relationship. Otherwise, you're really just friends that hold hands.

I love how this thread has turned into relationship counselling for Adriano... If you're too young to date then fair enough I can understand why your Mum had a problem. But otherwise she should let you make your own decisions and if it doesn't work or whatever, you'll learn from your mistakes..

At the time I was a doctor, my best-friend was pregnant (like Schwarznegger) and I had to perform a ceasarian on him in the play-ground. Though when I was made redundant I had to re-mortgage the playhouse, however, my best-friend repaid a favour by getting me a job in the mining industry - we dug allsorts, so as business progressed, we made plans to dig to Australia, but the authorities caught onto us, thus we were almost up against the firing squad by the hands of a fascist dictator, but we were too crafty for them.

Ah, what fun primary school was!

Quote: "I don't think you can have a real girl/boy friend until you are old enough for there to be a physical element to the relationship. Otherwise, you're really just friends that hold hands."

That is true, it's not proper, it's just an extra-special friend you'd give the same label...after holding hands you might go as far as kissing...well a 'peck' really. Until your old enough, avoid that physical element and I think it's that 'physical element' that gets parents worried, personally I'd do what my parents did and that's to give me freedom, but to ensure that I'm responsible. I think if you force somebody to abstain from certain things, when you're able to do them you go over-board (though not always the case). I've seen people whose parents were very strict about alcohol go absolutely mad, then don't even know what 'responsible drinking' is. Though for relationships, I can't say I've met anybody with parents strict enough to stop somebody from having a girl/boyfriend.

This is hardly the best place to expunge your sexist views guys

Girls play games just as much as anyone else, in fact my mom and my sister both play more videogames than me. Every girl I've known plays games to some extent, whether it's a bit of Tetris in their lunch break or speed-running Res Evil. Games appeal to everybody, and they always have - things never changed once they stuck 'casual games' in it's own category, the only difference is that there's more choice than just Solitaire and Tetris now.

I've never met a Hungarian who didn't like waffles, therefore because I've never met any Hungarians in my life, all Hungarians must like waffles. These geeky, game addict women are out there, it's just that they're too busy torturing people in the Sims2 to meet you.

But as far as game coding and design goes, I think most people would agree that it's rare to see a woman doing that stuff - female game developers tend to be on the media side of things. Now if Raven was here, he'd be disagreeing with that - but ask yourself when was the last time you played a game that was designed by a woman, or even a game that you know a woman coded for. Game programming is a sausage fest and there's no denying it.

Maybe we should try to ban women from coding games, then they'll come here in their droves...
